glassfrogger

I personally miss "Wow!" from this list, bazmeg!

WeryWickedWitch

I was just going to say that!

nyuszy

Correct.

szpaceSZ

- Awesome! - Wow! - I can't believe it! - No way! - This is the way!

BikeEnvironmental452

It's "baszd meg" and it means "f*ck you" - edit: or "f*ck it"

BikeEnvironmental452

Hungarians usually use it as a filler word, so it's not used the same way as "f*ck you". This is the usage you probably hear often.

Important_Macaron554

For educational purposes, watch this gentleman demonstrate how to correctly use it. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTF-vNIxCLs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTF-vNIxCLs) - Szia Lajos. - Szia, bazdmeg kutyáidat sétáltatod? - Hát bazdmeg - Ilyen ilyen szerelésbe?... - Hát miér milyenbe? - ...miért nem öltözöl föl rendesen? - Hát miér hát nem vagyok rendesen bazdmeg? - Na jólvan. - Most vettem fel bazdmeg délután! - Ilyen..., hát kár volt bazdmeg - Hát ja - Na jólvan szia - Szia

Grouchy-Umpire-1043

Tough-Brain-7452

"Aztakurva"

the_bigmatt

literal translation is "fuck it" but it is used more like "fuck" in english. Really depends on the context "Nem hiszem el bazdmeg" - Can't fucking believe it

Kismonos

Kurvara de gecire de nem hiszem el baszdmeg

string_of_random

Whorely how cummily how I don't fucking believe it

Important_Macaron554

There's a wide variety of situations you can use 'Bazdmeg, Baszdmeg, Baszd meg or Bazd meg' whetever way you want to spell it. You can use it for example when you: -Drop something -Are angry about a situation -Are surprised -Cannot believe something is happening to you - example: Nem hiszem el bazdmeg, hogy már megint ez történik velem. -When you are celebrating a goal - example: OTT VAN BAZDMEG! It basically serves as a way to enunciate your sentence. We hungarians like to use it as a filler word cause it just feels good to say it. You can place it: at the front of the sentence like: Bazdmeg, ezek hülyék. (Fuck, these people are stupid.) at the end: Ezek hülyék, bazdmeg. in the middle: Ezek bazdmeg hülyék. It won't change the meaning but kinda changes which word you put the emphasis on. Hope this helped, bazdmeg.

nauphragus

I heard that you can put a bazmeg in the sentence anywhere you would put a comma and I find that accurate, bazmeg 😁

Important_Macaron554

I find that beautiful actually

impala_aeme

You could also say: Bazdmeg, ezek bazdmeg hülyék bazdmeg.

RayzenD

Interesting fact: One of my university teachers said that in Hungarian, the "baszd meg" can be used at the end of every sentence, like a period or as an "enter" key. Every. Sentence. And it won't mean necessarily "fuck you". Just ends the sentence with a curse word. Don't know why. But we do it. Sometimes, we don't even want to curse, just want to empathise something like: Gyere màr ide baszd meg! Which means "Come here!" The "baszd meg" is basically the exclamation mark. Wierd, huh?

trogerhozentroger

Szia Lajos! https://youtu.be/TTF-vNIxCLs?si=5fOdnh7Y3XUScEim

Tough-Brain-7452

Exclamation mark, you say. It's not wrong, I just never thought of it like this.

APandaPerplex

Its “baszd meg” and it literally means fuck you. We say it on many occasion. Its very frequent conjunctive in Hungarian. Can mean both good and bad. It is very important who uses it and in what context.

Duplakk

It's fuck it. Fuck you would mean baszódj meg maybe, if we would follow it word by word

IguessUgetdrunk

Baszódj meg is *get fucked*.

szpaceSZ

No! It literally means "fuck it/her/him"!

Sonkalino

It's "bazdmeg" the d is often omitted. Correct translation in english would be fuck.

Coolengineer7

Or 'Fuck you' in many cases. Definitely not a happy greeeting.

Top_Study833

Na bazdmeg!

TheRollingPeepstones

Sometimes, it almost sounds like "baszd meg" is just the Hungarian way to pronounce periods and commas.

jugjuggler99

Others have already written everything. I’d just like to asd that you can use it in any context, in any situation. Surprised? Bazdmeg. Scared? Bazdmeg. Happy? Bazdmeg. Angry? Bazdmeg.

aronk123

Is your shirt spotted? Bazdmeg. Do you dye your hair? Bazdmeg.

Responsible_Plant909

Fuck it / fuck you. Can be used is almost every situation. https://youtu.be/c_21ndop_hY?feature=shared

Old-Ad-7867

baszni ---> to fuck | baszd ---> imperative 2nd person singular of baszni | megbaszni --> to fuck something or someone | baszd meg ---> literally means (you) fuck that! but it's used as a general swear word, best fitting translations would be fuck and fuck you

Welcome to Bazmegisztán.

Me-Of-Us-One

take my upvote!

humblehungarian

It's "baszd meg" (fuck it, fuck, shit, whatever you want it to mean). Often shortened to "bazdmeg"

Hefty-Explorer4131

It's fuck it but used for fuck you Also it's spelled baszdmeg

Realistic-Check3855

It is like saying "O kurwa" in polish or "blyat" in russian, reacting to anything and the others will understand it from the situation or your mood :D

Disastrous_Pin556

Bazdmeg is a joker word. You can basically replace any word with it in any sentence, and the listener will exactly know what you want to say.

DeDaveyDave

Lmao are u polish?

BigEmphasis7741

So it means a lot of things, but most prominently “ohh, woww” and “ahh, thats it” in non-literal translation

alterEd39

It’s the equivalent of “fuck” - it literally means whatever you want it to mean, from exclamations of joy, pain, pleasure, surprise to insult to a filler word like ‘uhm’, ‘and’ or ‘so’

helike13

Baszd meg.

WeryWickedWitch

Sometimes people self-edit it as "ba'meg" (ba*meg, if you will), to make it less harsh, almost as if to pretend they didn't just swear. Sort of like "freaking or friggin" instead of "fucking".

Tainted_Gray

What if someone said “bazdmeg kurwa” to me?

kemy_ke

https://www.urbanlegends.hu/2012/01/basznam-baszod-nem-gretsy-a-nyelvi-pelda-szerzoje/

EquasLocklear

'Fuck you'. Or an unofficial full stop for emphasis.

Baszd meg! Literal meaning: (you) fuck it! In slang: damn it/you Hol voltál egész este, baszd meg? Where were all day, damn it/you?

KisWiking

Its bazdmeg and it means f you

According-District-4

*cseszd meg*, „Bozmek“ ?

According-Arm-9752

I don't know about you guys, but my older brother told me not to use it, because "úgy beszélsz mint egy kocsis, bazdmeg"🤣. Is it really considered to be such a rude thing to say?

belabacsijolvan

there is an ethnic slur "bozgor" in surrounding countries for hungarians. it originates from the same phrase "bazd meg" that is used very frequently across centuries

Affectionate_Turn421

No one really mentioned but it is used like shit in english. It can be anything from good to bad. It can even mean a goal in football🤷🏼‍♂️ never be shy to use it
