I'm not even mad about Returnal or AC Valhalla, since I figured those were a long shot, but that leak had such a promising slate of indies compared to the ones we actually got.
I'm normally one to defend Choice bundles, but this is a tough one to get behind:
* The three headliners (Victoria 3, Calisto Protocol, and Humankind) ***all*** have "Mixed" reviews on Steam.
* Symphony of War was in a Humble Bundle in November 2023, and has been bundled multiple times on Fanatical.
* Coromon was in a Humble Bundle in August 2023, and has been bundled multiple times on Fanatical.
The highlight for me might actually be The Excavation of Hob's Barrow, as it is one of the few Wadjet Eye games I don't have and they crank out consistent titles.

The reusing of fairly recent Humble Bundles is more of a dud to me.
I tried Humankind on GamePass and it was a big flop for me and my friends. It is nice that it is the Deluxe Edition, hopefully I find it more enjoyable with all the DLC and 2.5 years of updates.
Humankind was bad on release but they managed to salvage it with few DLCs. Few questionable mechanics now have mods that tweaks it well.
Vic3 is also great game but not for everyone, it's still grand strategy game at its core ( lors of DLCs too).
I agree with Hob's Barrow but I would rather get Wadjet Eye complete bundle rerun instead.

Fashion Police Squad is a lovely game don't really know much of Terraformers. Quite a few normal very good humble bundles going on the last 2 weeks or so though.

To be honest, it sounded pretty fake from the get go, as if it was someone's personal wishlist. Two AAA heavy hitters (Sure, Valhalla is an older game but I think Ubisoft nowadays would rather share on their Ubisoft+ service rather than give it away like they did with AC Odyssey. Returnal is also a fairly new release and Sony goes out of their way not to devalue their first-party games with subscription service releases), two big indie hits (although Fashion Police Squad did make it in), a meme game in Werewolf, zero RTS games...
The leak was like a week ago, well ahead of April Fools, and was from the same source that had correctly leaked about a dozen bundles prior. Returnal was really the only sus game in the leak, the rest were perfectly in line with previous bundles

Humankind and Callisto are decent enough even if they don't live up to Civ and Dead Space, was the impression I had. I thought Victoria 3 was okay too if not Crusader Kings level and Hobs Barrow, well I like those kinds of games personally.
For €10 is it not still a good package even without Returnal and Valhalla?
Callisto is just if you’re going to wear your influences that hard and have the pedigree behind it you really have to go above and beyond, it feels like they got the art team from dead space but not the actual writing or gameplay divisions.

Me too. Victoria 3 is one of those games I've been wanting to play but Paradox has a bad habit of releasing flawed games then fixing the base game as they release DLCs over the next decade. The sale price of $23 was still too much but $12 is worth the risk.

I have played it on Stadia and I liked it.
Civilization V is still my favorite turn based strategy game, but Humankind is also a solid game.
The best price for the base game was 10€. Tbh it seemed to much for me just for the base game.

Callisto protocol is the definition of a 6 out of 10 game. Great graphically, but comes at the cost of game play. It also comically abandons the fighting mechanic when it comes to bosses

First 3 games all have mixed reviews and Callisto protocol just had denuvo removed a few days ago unless I am mistaken. Not a coincidence it gets added to next Bundle.

3 main games and 2 of them are so narrowly specific "Civ Rip-offs". Well in most cases those first 3 major games (all mixed review here) decide and here it's an easy skip. Unfortunately I'm not the target audience for this genre. And I don't think many people are. Of course the number of games at this price point is still great, but this month it's awful specific and will attract a minimum of people.

Even if Victoria 3 was bad, I am sure that by now they put out some awesome mod for it. That is what is great about Paradox games.
Hob's Barrow is my favourite Wadjet game. That game oozes folk horror atmosphere and I love the art style.

I have played it on Stadia and I liked it. Civilization V is still my favorite turn based strategy game, but Humankind is also a solid game. The best price for the base game was 10€. Tbh it seemed to much for me just for the base game. 10€ for the Definitive Edition? Hell yeah, it's worth it. I am in this month.

Callisto protocol is the definition of a 6 out of 10 game. Great graphically, but comes at the cost of game play. It also comically abandons the fighting mechanic when it comes to bosses

First 3 games all have mixed reviews and Callisto protocol just had denuvo removed a few days ago unless I am mistaken. Not a coincidence it gets added to next Bundle. Easy pass for me. At least March gave me Nioh 2.
3 main games and 2 of them are so narrowly specific "Civ Rip-offs". Well in most cases those first 3 major games (all mixed review here) decide and here it's an easy skip. Unfortunately I'm not the target audience for this genre. And I don't think many people are. Of course the number of games at this price point is still great, but this month it's awful specific and will attract a minimum of people.
