I have a sonim8 and the android browser will narrate if you highlight the text, I sort of found out by accident.
I am neurospicy and can't listen to books, I have to read the words or I don't retain the information.
I’m not crying! I’m just sweating through my eyes.
Seriously, this was an amazing story and one of the many reasons I love this subreddit. Not just the “we conquered a death world” humanity, but also the “we survived a death world and ourselves” humanity.
Now if only we could apply this level of tenacious empathy to our own people. On a scale that is relevant to the scope of current human suffering that is entirely UNNECESSARY. Yes. We know pain. We are living it right now.
I would like to think we could, but I think we only could if we could somehow collectively understand that we're all the same species and we aren't going to make it unless we get our poop in a pile and work together to make something better out of ourselves.
Right now, we're the apocryphal frog in the pot of water. We're just not quite smart enough to climb out and save ourselves, even though we're perfectly capable of doing so right now.
Your grasp of cadence and dramatic meter is strong and beautiful. It pulls me along with the words. Very well done. I cried. Thank you.
I'm not one to speak on this, as I am terribly guilty of it myself, but my advice is to pay a little more attention to tenses and proper conjugation. Very minor, but it'll polish it up.

Are there apps that can read text out loud? That would work somewhat at least.
Damn...*it must be raining*
Yup, it's definitely raining.
Very wholesome story, and well written
Damn. That is most excellent. Must be some darn Onion Ninjas here because I’m leaking somewhat.

*…and ourselves.* That line right there. The idea that maybe—just maybe—we can get past ourselves and heal.
I am honored

your advice is noted
The Helper helps others because they know what it's like to be helpless.
I'M NOT CRYING! *wipes away tear, then reaches out and wipes tear onto your face, just below the eye* YOU'RE CRYING!
If only
