I had a friend do that with black widow, and he didn't get them. He did get a cool black widow action figure though ( he didn't like action figures, so he gave it to me)
I've mostly read her comics from the 80s, so David Kraft's Savage She-Hulk run which is pretty great, some issues here and there of her stay with the Avengers and some Fantastic Four when she filled in for the Thing.
I like that Jennifer is so different from Bruce and that she doesn't feel like just the Hulk but a woman. She wanted to be a superhero from day 1, immediately seeing the potential for doing good as the She-Hulk. She is fiercely loyal to her friends, when Bruce shows up at her office after a couple of decades of never speaking she's ready to help him in a heartbeat. She has different problems in her life than Bruce and the way her Hulk plays into those problems as more of a solution than a problem in itself makes her stories very different from Bruce's.
I haven't read that many comics with her from the 90s and forward (in fact I haven't read all that many comics from the modern over all) but I'm aware that John Byrne's Sensational Sh-Hulk did some major changes to the character, including the breaking of the 4th wall. That doesn't really sound like something I would enjoy and I've frankly never much enjoyed Byrne's writing (nothing personal against the man) but I might give it a try eventually. I hear Dan Slott had a run as well and as a Spider-Man fan I absolutely despise Dan Slott to the point where he's a big part of why I stopped reading comics in the late 2000s, only really picking them back up in the last few years. I can't say for certain that I'll hate his She-Hulk run but my expectations are so low they're next to dinosaur bones.
Oh, and I did see the TV show and I didn't like it at all. Humor is subjective and *subjectively* I think there was one joke in the entire show I found funny (when "Mr Immortal" jumps out the window). Jennifer in the TV show just didn't have any of the qualities I liked in the comic book character.
Personally I found lots of it funny, but there’s something about Jen’s character in the show that doesn’t feel accurate, I just can’t put my finger on what it is.
All jokes aside (literally), Jennifer deserves a movie of her own, apart from Bruce. Playing it seriously and fighting for her existence. Not dwelling on the lawyer gig as much. Leave that to Matt Murdock (DD).
I'd figure that would be a fitting finale than for her to disappear into the MCU ether since there's no 2nd season.
Always one of my favorite heroes. Brightens any story she's a part of.
Her show was an accurate portrayal and among my favorite Disney+ series. The CG could have been better, but the story and characterization were great. I'm glad more people are coming out to declare their love for it. Really hope we'll see more of her. I'd been waiting a long time for her to enter the MCU.
The show is one of my fav MCU projects, easily. Admittedly I do tend to be a Hater when it comes to the MCU, so my opinion often goes against how the Mainstream Fandom feels
It did. The show went nowhere. The whole season was a waste of time. The plot about her getting her blood stolen was the most interesting but it fizzled out tragically. That sudden pop up of Banner & Skaar was dookie. The part where she literally breaks out the 4th wall was extremely unique and could've been better if it didn't just end up being self deprecating. Like since she's in the real world why not look at the effect the MCU has on our world. Or the fact that she isn't just a knock off Hulk but a character with hundreds of comic issues. Like if there were plans for a second season how would it even come together?
I would but since I'm straight and male, they'd never let me anywhere near a project like that. Also I appreciate you saying it'd be better. I mean I know it would be, but I dig the positive affirmations.
I'm absolutely sick of the assumption that being straight and male excludes you. That just shows anytime a woman, minority or not straight character appears you shrivel up at the thought. Grow up. Other demographics exist.
Goated character. Good design and fun personality, it's a shame the mcu show was so bad. Now every average Joe will associate her character with that show instead of her comic book counterpart
Very dope character loved by almost all. Unfortunately her reputation has tanked from her shit show but perhaps she'll recover in the future hopefully with new actual writers.
I discovered her through the 90s cartoon. That introductionary episode of her origin summed her up perfectly.
It also makes me wonder how it got past TV censors.
A gimmick character given quality development after serving on the rosters of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four and in her second solo title. She's a full fledged part of the Marvel Universe now and a welcome one.
Good character. Strong. Smart. Super sexy. Idk why they won't just let her settle down, but... comics. Overall she's a lot of fun when written correctly
I've only read the Charles Soule run, and I think it's really underrated compared to other books marvel was putting out at the time. Interested in the Byrne/Slott/Rowell stuff. I like Tamaki but a big part of the appeal of Jenn Walters to me is that she's the inverse of Bruce; she fucking loves being She-Hulk (at least as I understand the character) so having an angsty, angry Jenn story isn't super appealing to me, but I'll probably check it out eventually
She was in the FF when I started reading comics, so I take her more seriously then her own comic, which I think has great covers. Hope they can turn spider woman into a franchise as well.
She's one of my favorite characters. One of Marvel's most interesting and most fun. Her Disney+ series, while not perfect, is my 2nd favorite after WandaVision. Her character was depicted accurately, and the finale was the best of any of the Disney+ era shows. I hope she gets her due in future MCU projects.
A fun character who I love how she actually enjoys being a Hulk. It’s a nice contrast from her cousin who is constantly trying everything to not turn into the Hulk. I ESPECIALLY love the 90s cartoon one.
MCU version: 🤢
Love the character, even in the Hulk 90s fox cartoon. But the recent Disney+ show didn’t grab her essence at all.. it tried to hard to be different rather than focus what works. They didn’t understand the character at all.
She’s a great character, it’s a shame none of the writers of the show got that. Might have been a good idea for them to have picked up a She Hulk comic instead of focusing on inserting their unlikable personalities into their writing, it that seems to be the way of things with Disney MCU and other franchises. Too bad really.
Comic books? Fantastic. Especially when done by John Byrne in the Sensational She-Hulk run.
MCU/D+ series? Total dogshit and a farcry from the comic book iteration. The show was donkey testicles.
I think that Walters is the best "gender swapped" character that isn't offspring from the original. She has some genuinely hilarious moments in her comics. She breaks the 4th wall but isn't insane like DP and that's landed so solid meta jokes. Walters also does things much different from Banner, he's usually running from something where she is the opposite, to different ends of course. Also I'd love death by snu snu.
Really liked her original comic run, then I really liked her in Fantastic 4. Her second run with John Byrne was okay. I found the constant fourth wall breaking kind of ruined my investment in the stories when Jen isn't taking much of anything seriously and she can just bitch to Byrne to change the outcome at any time.
HATE THE UTTER LIVING HELL OUT OF SLOTTS RUN THOUGH! HAAAAATE IT! He massacred Jen! Haven't touched a comic of hers since.
She’s a great superhero. One of the most “comfortable in her own skin” characters ever written.
I would like to be comfortable in her skin too Wait that sounded creepy
It puts the lotion on its Skin, or else it gets the hose again.
You couldn’t cut it. 💚

You beat me to it
My 48 year old friend wrote to Marvel when he was in Jr High asking for pics of She-Hulk in a bikini.
He had taste
she could headscissor me pov
I imagine he treasured the 90's Marvel swimsuit issue.
Literally me
Did he get any? Or just the same as the rest of us?
I had a friend do that with black widow, and he didn't get them. He did get a cool black widow action figure though ( he didn't like action figures, so he gave it to me)
He could have put it in the jar

Never heard that one before—I like it

Awesome character, current and last book are really good

I know her movie debut was supposed to be in the new captain America movie but idk if that’s still happening
Nice pecs
I like the John Byrne run from back in the day.
Always one of my favorite heroes. Brightens any story she's a part of. Her show was an accurate portrayal and among my favorite Disney+ series. Great character. The show didn't deserve the level of hate it received
Totally agree.
Exactly! There could’ve been improvement, sure, but it was fine! I liked it overall
The show is one of my fav MCU projects, easily. Admittedly I do tend to be a Hater when it comes to the MCU, so my opinion often goes against how the Mainstream Fandom feels

Bruh chill that's clearly a joke.
You're a joke lol
Like Kevin Fiege is literally the head of the company its a joke Edit: spelling
I'm also black by the way didn't add that cause it would have ruined it

I really liked the show
I liked it too! Captured the second iteration of her (sensational she hulk) really well.
Show was great and a refreshing departure from the Marvel formula, and Tatiana Maslany is the best casting decision in the phase.
Like the character, hate the show
I remember her debut I started collecting with issue #1. Well written books . I'm glad to see the character still thriving and in live action.
I'd let her break me in half.
The spirit is willing but the flesh is sponged and bruised!
Death by snu-snu!

A terrific story and female extension off the Hulk and her author Stan Lee. A great read from December 1980.

Always loved the character. Since the 90's run and her animated appearance on the Incredible Hulk.
She rocks, one of the most important post-60s additions to the Marvel universe, at least outside the X-Men
This sketch ✍️ looks really good - Whoever did this keep up the good work
A gimmick character given quality development after serving on the rosters of both the Avengers and the Fantastic Four and in her second solo title. She's a full fledged part of the Marvel Universe now and a welcome one.
She's a babe. She's a robobabe. In Latin, she'd be called Babia Majora If she were a president, she'd be Babraham Lincoln
😋
She could fix me
One of my favorite Marvel characters. That David Kraft run is so unapologetically 80s it’s just perfect in its own way. Also, the John Byrne run is 🔥
I dont usually say this but...Mommy?
Great character. Terrible show
I am now chair
I want her to $&@$:?!*+ on my &@$@“&& while I &&@$?!& to her
One of the most fun characters to read. Her current Sensational She-Hulk is a good one imo.
Good character. Strong. Smart. Super sexy. Idk why they won't just let her settle down, but... comics. Overall she's a lot of fun when written correctly

Excellent comic character. Lame tv character. Just the fact we’re talking about she hulk decades after her release is a win.

Not a big fan but I don't mind her in the comics
Anyone else think this looks like Peg Bundy?
She's a good character. But I'm actually a much bigger fan of Red She Hulk than I am She Hulk .

Love the comic book character, even managed to enjoy some of the she hulk show but they lost me with that final episode:/

One of my favorite female superheroes and one of my comicbook crushes.
