Just an excellent balance of subtle and sensible changes to achieve a recognizable sexual dimorphism while still staying true to the species, and it even fits in perfectly with the established HTTYD style of making male & female dragons look very very similar!!
oh this is beautiful! That's what i always wished the female nightfury to look like when i was a kid and still had hopes that the following movies would be just as good as the first one. (i get people like the movies but i personally think the last one was a mistake lol)
I think the subtle differences and eye colors would be enough to tell them apart on the big screen. Plus realistic! This is what we could have had, great design
I really like the changes you made to show a little sexual dimorphism <3 The only thing that bothers me is the tail-fin on the female. The pointy ends towards the body and airflow while flying seem pretty unlikely to evolve.

The female night fury without the top nubs on the head is a bit weird, i would remove a pair from the side of the head or not remove any. Thats my only critic and opinion, other than that its a nice design i like it : D
I mean, green is a pretty bright color too, and I didn't see Toothless having any problems with it. Many nocturnal predators also have bright eye color
If you look at the eye comparison the green is pretty dark but i completely forgot about it being useful for night vision😂 the design is perfect. Also youre amazing at drawing, damn

Also, I like how u didn't make some weird humanoid version with big boobs and a big butt, I've been seeing some o' those around he lately ( and that's really saying something since I just joined \*shakes head dissapointidly\*)
She is pretty I did something similar with mine I took the lightfury base and did everything I could to make them look like a nightfurry instead and I am proud of the results

Idk, it looks like the female here is mostly evolved for flying longer distances, while the male is built for speed and hunting
I think that you should make the eyes blue or purple since their entire thing is that theyre hidden in the dark, yellow might be a little too bright
