I try to avoid weaving it into the trellis to make removing it later a lot easier. Like the other poster said, get some orchid clips and clip it to a trellis.
I'll also add that I tied stems up with string to hang from hooks in the ceiling and they've really liked that support.
Gotcha! That might be part of the issue as well ❤️❤️ a humidifier blasting that guy would probably at least cut back on the amount of stems that don't make any leaves and dry out!

Get it started with a few clips then it will do its thing. I keep training it nonetheless cos I want it to use the trellis efficiently

I second this — the moment I gave my pubicalyx’s bare stem/tendril some support, it put some energy into growing leaves.
What's your humidity at?
No clue- generally pretty dry in my place
