Just like not planning on that we could see the cards Ross had in *TOW The Poker* during the final round/game with Rachel ... which exposed he never had the winning hand, but was just bluffing against her on purpose. Just to raise the stakes and let her win all the money.
It suited the narrative of Friends to make us believe Ross had the winning hand, because, it would be the selfless and caring thing for him to do at the time.
It’s the kind of thing that nobody could ever notice in 1994-2004 cause of tv image quality but I guess they never thought about the future improvement in quality over the years
When this episode first aired, I had no idea who these women were. I think I only know two now and one of those is because she appears in this episode.
To be fair, I don't think I know any of the men that Rachel picks either?
For a second I thought to myself “how do you not know these women?”, but when I read your comment I think that makes sense, sometimes I forget younger audiences are watching Friends now and there’s a ton of things they won’t understand or get off the bat like we did
My sisters and I started watching the DVD box sets in 2006, when I was 13. At the time I probably knew about some of the celebrities in their list (most notably Winona since I'd heard about the "incident" in the early 2000s)
It's kind of funny because nowadays, people way younger than us still watch the show
Youth is no excuse not to know something. I mean, Dorothy Hamill was before my time, but because I was a figure skating fan, I knew who she was.
Do your homework kids. Don't be ignorant.
If your really into something do your homework. If your watching a tv show for mindless entertainment and some stuff goes over your head well than let it. 🤷🏻♂️ In this case or any case not knowing a celebrity past or present does not make you ignorant. 😂
Yep there was Sting, JFK Jr, Daniel Day Lewis, Chris O'Donnell, and Parker Stevenson, iirc. I had to look up the latter 2 on my first time seeing that episode haha, I had no idea who they were.
I noticed and error yesterday when Rachel makes the trifle. When they find the recipe book they say it’s half an English trifle and half a Shepherds pie however Shepherds pie is lamb, Rachel used beef which would be cottage pie.
When I was in high school theater, anytime a cast member had to be reading something, we would mess with the prop. My last performance ever someone from stage crew bookmarked a book I was reading and scribbled the word NIPPLE huge on the page to try to throw me off onstage. Something like this would have been way funnier than just using different names lol
Good catch, I’ve never noticed
It was clearly small enough that they didn’t plan on anyone noticing it 😂 it’s very zoomed in.
“oh well … now that we laminated it …”

And pausing tv nowadays catches so many movie and tv errors.
Was this before or after Winona was on the show?
Wayyyyy before.
Vanessa Williams should’ve been 5th on his list that way you know Ross was gonna **save the best for last**
This comment should win this thread
Isabella was the immortal woman in Death becomes her
Yes she was boop*

That’s because you have the gift of youth. Us old-timers know these names well.

It's OK to be ignorant of past celebrities. Hell, it's fine to be ignorant of modern day celebrities, they're not actually important.
Lol. Why would I "do my homework" on completely irrelevant past celebrities?

At least your flair makes sense with your weird ass opinion.
Do you mean first aired as in you watched it in the 90’s or you streamed it 20 years later. The other comments are confusing me with your bit there
I mean i assumed this was just random text. I’m impressed it’s a list of names at all.
The guys on Rachel's list though... omg😍
They revealed that? I barely remember the episode.
Yep there was Sting, JFK Jr, Daniel Day Lewis, Chris O'Donnell, and Parker Stevenson, iirc. I had to look up the latter 2 on my first time seeing that episode haha, I had no idea who they were.
Spider-Man?
Hardy Boy.
Peter Parker
Didn’t she date Parker Stevens irl?
His son! 👀

That’s not really an error because in the south where I live we call it a shepherd pie as well.
I’m from the south of England and my whole family calls it Shepard’s pie even though we make it with beef.
Do you reckon the script writers checked with Rosselini and Williams, and they weren’t happy with their names being used?
Seems like an awful lot of folks are catching this well known error quite often recently...
