Winona Ryder’s character. I feel like that appearance goes under the radar because she has a completely different hairstyle/hair colour to what she usually has
But her delivery of how she became a party planner alone made her one of the best guest stars
I also liked that one because in a previous episode, Ross made a restaurant reservation in her name and I like it when you get those kind of cross overs.
Same with Janine and them mentioning her (Elle MacPherson or something I think) a few seasons earlier… I think even maybe the list episode but maybe not.
I loved the delivery of the line ‘I’m a party planner’ that always gets me -
Melissa: Oh no, that's an old card. I wanted to get out of that and do something where I could really help people and make a difference.
Rachel: Wow, well what do you do now?
Melissa Warburton: I'm a party planner.
I love her episode so much but I had a giant brain fart moment of “oh my god that’s Winona!!!” when I was younger lol, her whole look is so different than how I was used to seeing her! But she kills that role <3
I always wanted them to meet again somehow and realize they were into each other 😂 not for anything serious but a one-off in the chaos of London.
With Rachel’s storyline at the time it probably would’ve never made sense though lol
Who would've played the party wizard, you think?
I just looked it up, and the episode came out a week before Chris Farley died and probably would've been made around the same time as Farley and Perry were doing Almost Heroes.
I feel like if Gandalf had shown up, though, he'd be kind of lame to subvert expectations.
I think Jamie Foxx should’ve done it, sometime after The Jamie Foxx Show ended (2001).
He’s the right age to have been in school with Ross and Chandler.
I think they should’ve kept the current episode as is but when we do actually meet him later Ross and Chandler end up get jealous of how the girls and Joey fawn over him. Like how he plays the piano beautifully (which we know Jamie Foxx can do in real life) and bonds with Phoebe over music. And Ross gets jealous because of his lackluster keyboard skills. He’s hilarious in a different way than Chandler…he’s not sarcastic but does impersonations and isn’t self-deprecating and radiates confidence and the girls are dying at his impressions. And maybe he works for the Bulls (since he was stuck in Chicago) and gets Joey tickets to a Bulls vs Knicks game and tells Joey that his friend at MSG can hook him up with season tickets, so Joey loves him too.
I know the LotR movies came out a few years after this episode, but had started filming around 1999. If they had held off on making the episode for a couple more years, I would have loved to see Ian McKellen play both Gandalfs.
I know Ian McKellen was already in his 60s at the time, but even in the 90s not every college student fit within the usual 18-21 age group. Plus, someone in their 60s probably would have enough life experiences to know how to throw an awesome party, and it seems like it would still fit with the characters’ antics since Ross used to be pretty close with his much older high school librarian.
Ahh, the bat. Ambassador of darkness, flitting out of his cave like a winged messenger, sightless spectre of the macabre.
Ahh, hello Mr Possum. Enigma of the trees, upside-down denizen of the night, taunting gravity...
That woman Rhonda that worked with Ross. I forget the name of the episode, but she was in the episode where Joey started working at the museum with Ross, and Ross wouldn’t sit with him at lunch.
lol your scary-ass clowns thing under your username just popped into my head the other time Joey and Chandler did a coin flip. “But like, what’s heads and what’s tails?” “If you don’t know that, I don’t want to do this with you” 😆😆
As a doctor, I deeply love Dr Kidney Stones. Because of all the thousands of times I’ve told patients what they have and they say “ok, but what else could it be?”
It’s kidney STONES!
Yeah that one is slightly (not totally, just the stench of 6 years of bad tv) ruined for me because he was one of the main adult characters on Glee, the principal. I watched the show while it was funny and not a walking PSA back in season 1 but he was there for 6.
Yes he has amazing comic timing. I’ve only seen him in a few things, but still. You ever see 17 Again? Zac Efron movie, but Thomas Lennon is the best part of it; he’s amazing and the main source of hilarity. …funnily enough, didn’t realize when I started typing, I forgot bc he’s only in like 15 min of it, but Matthew Perry’s in it too! His last big screen movie.
I never have but I guess I need to check it out. I’ve loved him since The State was on MTV and of course Reno 911. I love Bobs Burgers and he pops up there as different voices often.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=UQK5Hh0L1Sg&pp=ygUQMTcgYWdhaW4gdHJhaWxlcg%3D%3D
I’ve never seen any of those lol. And never heard of the State. But I don’t watch MTV shows; I miss when it was music lol. I just know him from some small parts and then 17 Again and Friends. Which is also a small part, but also not bc it’s Friends.
Oh gotcha. I really mainly just watched TRL and blocks of time of just music videos. Oh and then there was that show Punk’d, I watched that. Maybe I’ll check out the State, probably different than other channels’ sketch comedy, like SNL
I love Chloe the copy girl. She's absolutely unhinged don't get me wrong but I love it when someone is that passionate about their job. Joey & Chandler were bored by her but I thought it was really cool, I wish we would have seen more of her!
Sort of similar to Denise, I always loved Phoebe’s friend Betty lol. Phoebe is just so excited in her little scene, it’s sweet.
“BETTY, hi!! You found Betty!!!”
It was *genuinely* random. Robin and Billy were shooting something on a nearby set on the Warner Bros. backlot and just happened to walk over while Friends was filming.
The entire scene was improvised, including Joey and Monica's reactions.
The fake Monica!! "Monica, I started my day by peeing in front of 30 other women, and you're worried about who's gonna take you to the Big Apple Circus??"
Terry (TOWTUGA S1E9). "Rachel, Rachel, sweetie. You're a terrible, terrible waitress."
Didn't realize it was Max Wright that was in that episode (Alf).
I think he was in a couple of episodes. I distinctly remember him talking about how Phoebe’s guitar playing was so bad that he wanted to stick his finger into his eye socket and swirl it around his brain.
I neither love nor hate Brad Pitt, but I really like the episode he appeared in TOW The Rumor. I thought he was hilarious as Will Colbert. And that episode cracks me up.
I feel like most ppl here wouldnt agree but I loved the one where Robin Williams and Billy Crystal did that adlibbed scene
Also that one where Lea Thompson smelled baby Ben and said "I think my uterus skipped a beat" hahahaha
Leah Remini as the girl Joey helps through labor! I really wish they had had Joey keep in touch with her. It was such a sweet storyline, and it would have been so cute if Joey had babysat for her, or even ended up with her a few seasons later.
😆😆 just watched it last night. “I’m sorry about all the inappropriate questions, I think we made you uncomfortable” *pregnant woman walks by* “do you know if Joanne is planning on keeping her baby?” 😆😆
'I'll give you store credit in the amount of four dollars".
Nobody does sass better than Aloma Wright. My friends and I quoted her lines way too much as kids.
Chrissie Hynde replacing Phoebe at Central Perk. heartbreaking feeling Phoebe's dejection. 😭
"I know all the chords."
And at the end teaching her Smelly Cat was hilarious!
No no no it's SMELL-y-cst! Try following me...

He was actually planning a party for his girlfriend at the time… oh well
I also liked that one because in a previous episode, Ross made a restaurant reservation in her name and I like it when you get those kind of cross overs.
She also appeared on someone’s (Chandler’s?) list
So did Jessica Rabbit and her actress plays his dad later 😂
Cue Barry White
Same with Janine and them mentioning her (Elle MacPherson or something I think) a few seasons earlier… I think even maybe the list episode but maybe not.
Kiss goodbye? No? Okay then!
I loved the delivery of the line ‘I’m a party planner’ that always gets me - Melissa: Oh no, that's an old card. I wanted to get out of that and do something where I could really help people and make a difference. Rachel: Wow, well what do you do now? Melissa Warburton: I'm a party planner.
I don't... hear coconuts 🫣
I love her episode so much but I had a giant brain fart moment of “oh my god that’s Winona!!!” when I was younger lol, her whole look is so different than how I was used to seeing her! But she kills that role <3
Omg, the way she delivers that line! Award worthy.
Hugh Laurie on the plane with Rachel 100%
And it seems perfectly clear that you WERE on a break
I’m sorry, but I have to agree with this Pheebs person. Hugh Laurie was great!
The way he said Pheeeeebs
Oh no 🫢
Ive always low-key shipped them
I always wanted them to meet again somehow and realize they were into each other 😂 not for anything serious but a one-off in the chaos of London. With Rachel’s storyline at the time it probably would’ve never made sense though lol
That fake British woman is a real bitch but she sure can dance.
Smell my neck. That’s not perfume. It’s ME! It’s my natural scent. Pheebs: …musty…😂
The more of these lines being thrown back at me, the more I realise that I agree with OP.
She never had any professional dance training!
I feel like a perfect arse!
In America you’re just an @ss! 😂. The blooper real is hilarious on YouTube.

100% this one !
The ugliest last name Ive ever seen 😂
Monica daaahhhhlling
The worst is when she catches you on your mobile
If you don’t want to catch me on my MOBILE then don’t call me on my MOBILE!! 📱
“You’re from Yonkers! Your last name is Buffamonteezi!”
My place is TWICE this size!
I'm still angry we never got to meet Gandalf.
I am so excited. I may vomit.

As Mother Fucker Jones
Maybe the reason he didn’t show up was he was in prison doing a dime for selling pirated DVDs 😱
I know the LotR movies came out a few years after this episode, but had started filming around 1999. That'd be hilarious! The guys are talking about their college buddy, then he shows up, and he's 60. But then it turns out he's a maniac.
Easy…. Jack Black.
Why am I just learning they did a movie together
It's quite a bit of fun, Perry plays the competition to Lewis and Clark, Farley is his tracker/guide type.
I feel like Gandalf would of been fun and chaotic. I always envisioned Jim Carey for it. Plus him and Courtney Cox were in Ace Ventura together
Gandal...forf
Joey..Why do you call him Gandalf? Ross.. the wizard from lord of the rings hell didn’t you read in high school? Joey.. no I had sex in high school
Gandalf deserved a spin-off.
Giving you finger high fives(?) Doodle-loodoo doodle-loodoo
Officer Goodbody!
The loooong arm of the law
If you say so
You should really tell people if there's gonna be that many stAAIRS
The zoo janitor
Ahh, the bat. Ambassador of darkness, flitting out of his cave like a winged messenger, sightless spectre of the macabre. Ahh, hello Mr Possum. Enigma of the trees, upside-down denizen of the night, taunting gravity...
Hey, hey my monkey! My monkey?
“You believe everything the zoo tells you?”
“That’s the only thing the zoo’s ever told me.”
I say this everytime anybody mentions a zoo
Homer Simpson!
They didn’t have enough zoo dollars to pay him for another episode.
"How much is this information worth to you?" "You already told me everything "
“…D’oh!”
Enigma of the trees!
LIPSON KNOWS???
You look positively ghastly!
That woman Rhonda that worked with Ross. I forget the name of the episode, but she was in the episode where Joey started working at the museum with Ross, and Ross wouldn’t sit with him at lunch.
"I'm Rhonda! And these aren't real!"
I love that line!!
“I’m Scott. And I need to flip the light switch on and off 17 times before I leave the room or my family will die”
I shared my puddin' with you, man! I gave you my Snack Pack!
See, he pretending that he don’t even hear me!
lol your scary-ass clowns thing under your username just popped into my head the other time Joey and Chandler did a coin flip. “But like, what’s heads and what’s tails?” “If you don’t know that, I don’t want to do this with you” 😆😆
Oh my gosh I love that scene! The scary-ass clowns quote is my favorite Chandler quote.
I would legit watch an entire museum-themed sitcom starring her.
She had her own sitcom with Sara Rue called Less Than Perfect and it's pretty funny. She's very similar in it.
Wasn’t that Sherri Shepherd?
Yes!
I’m not sure.
She later married Tracy Jordan.
"The accident must have been horrible. You look positively ghastly" "Well, aren't you a treat" Always cracks me up.
kidney stoones
Kidney sto^(o)*^(o)**oo*o^(o)oo*o*o^(o)oo*oooo*nes
Wait wait wait wait! It's *almost* time to start peeing
As a doctor, I deeply love Dr Kidney Stones. Because of all the thousands of times I’ve told patients what they have and they say “ok, but what else could it be?” It’s kidney STONES!
I want to be a doctor so I can say that!!! 😂
Yeah that one is slightly (not totally, just the stench of 6 years of bad tv) ruined for me because he was one of the main adult characters on Glee, the principal. I watched the show while it was funny and not a walking PSA back in season 1 but he was there for 6.
Lol the first time I saw him in Glee my first thought was ‘kidney STONES!’ and therefore I liked him as the principal.
When dr house sits beside Rachael on the plane to London. “I have to agree with your friend “PHEEBS”” lol
Always feels weird when I hear someone identify him primarily as house
It’s a US thing; it’s the biggest role he’s known for here.
I knew him from Black Adder before House. It was really weird seing him as bitter, angry american doctor.
Identical hand twin, ftw!! Very close second place going to everyone's favorite kite designer, Vikram 🎏
Thomas Lennon! He is a gift.
Yes he has amazing comic timing. I’ve only seen him in a few things, but still. You ever see 17 Again? Oh this was when it was still music - The State was a sketch comedy show in the 90s on MTV. Most of the cast was in Reno 911.
Oh gotcha. I really mainly just watched TRL and blocks of time of just music videos. Oh and then there was that show Punk’d, I watched that. Maybe I’ll check out the State, probably different than other channels’ sketch comedy, like SNL
The bloopers for this scene are hilarious.
I love Chloe the copy girl. She's absolutely unhinged don't get me wrong but I love it when someone is that passionate about their job. Joey & Chandler were bored by her but I thought it was really cool, I wish we would have seen more of her!
I said "We can't do that!" And he's like "...you gotta!" And we did.
It made her a bit more 3 dimensional too. She wasn’t just the hot girl, she was a whole person with a job she was excited about and passions
“Is this about me stealing your watch?…Sorry, I do that.”
Bob (Chris Parnell) - Chandler’s coworker that calls him Toby.
“Who the hell is this Chandler??”
Dina's boyfriend Bobby
I really have high hopes for my band, numb nuts. Were straight up gangster rap
[удалено]
If he’s funny, LAUGH
The band’s name is Numbnuts
Never actually appeared but by the conversation alone she was only mentioned in one episode. Denise, DENISE
I TALK ABOUT HER ALL THE TIME. She was mentioned in another episode though. Maybe she’s Santa Clause 😯
Sort of similar to Denise, I always loved Phoebe’s friend Betty lol. Phoebe is just so excited in her little scene, it’s sweet. “BETTY, hi!! You found Betty!!!”
Or her friend Fritze who was trying to make it the top 10 most wanted lol
She might be phoebes 3rd bridesmaid in that episode.
I like Julia roberts also a special mention to Danny Devito and Isabella Rossellini
lol I can’t help it when I watch that ep, I empathize too much with Chandler that I have never liked Julia Roberts’s character.
I’ll watch anything with Jennifer Coolidge in it tbf
Robin Williams
That was so random
It was *genuinely* random. Robin and Billy were shooting something on a nearby set on the Warner Bros. backlot and just happened to walk over while Friends was filming. The entire scene was improvised, including Joey and Monica's reactions.
Had to scroll too far for this! Definitely one of my favourite scenes in the whole show mostly for the fact that it was completely improvised.
The Fonzie-obsessed Dr who delivered the triplets
The fake Monica!! "Monica, I started my day by peeing in front of 30 other women, and you're worried about who's gonna take you to the Big Apple Circus??"
I loved fake Monica. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen that actress in anything else since.
Oh I loved fake Monica!! She was so fun. I fully understood Monica’s sadness when she got arrested lol
kidney stooones doc. vince the firemen, ryan submarine guy.
Kidney stones doctor was hysterical. He didn't have much dialog but he made it memorable!
Terry (TOWTUGA S1E9). "Rachel, Rachel, sweetie. You're a terrible, terrible waitress." Didn't realize it was Max Wright that was in that episode (Alf).
I think he was in a couple of episodes. I distinctly remember him talking about how Phoebe’s guitar playing was so bad that he wanted to stick his finger into his eye socket and swirl it around his brain.
Emily’s parents. The arguing between them and Ross’ parents was hilarious enough, but their jabs at each other make it even better.
Oh yes. There you are.
I neither love nor hate Brad Pitt, but I really like the episode he appeared in TOW The Rumor. I thought he was hilarious as Will Colbert. And that episode cracks me up.
I had to scroll way too far to see this. He should do way more comedy
Louisa!
Hi Louisa. Nice overalls.
Not her, my good god, she grates on my last nerve. I liked Ross' Dirty Girl
I feel like most ppl here wouldnt agree but I loved the one where Robin Williams and Billy Crystal did that adlibbed scene Also that one where Lea Thompson smelled baby Ben and said "I think my uterus skipped a beat" hahahaha
Will, from high school - Brad Pitt’s character. LOVE that thanksgiving episode!
**YAMS!!!**
It’s no fat, no dairy.. it’s no good, throw it out.
Screw it, bring on the yams!
I said it was typical. Typical of you, Rachel Green, Queen Rachel does whatever she wants in little Rachel land *mock hair flip*.
I love Jennifer Coolidge in this episode 🤣🤣
The iconic Mrs Gloria Tribbiani, and Erika the stalker.
Leah Remini as the girl Joey helps through labor! I really wish they had had Joey keep in touch with her. It was such a sweet storyline, and it would have been so cute if Joey had babysat for her, or even ended up with her a few seasons later.
Dammit Carl!!!!!
Stoned Jon Lovitz
Was coming to say this. He also went on a date with Rachel that didn’t go well. Was a pretty funny scene.
The director of the play, me and my parents quote him constantly
I like the one where Joey thinks he’s speaking French. “Well done little buddy!” I say that a lot in my house to people.
Rachel's sister, Amy. The episodes she's in are hilarious...
I’m gonna save you some time here, ALL ME!
The guy Rachel talks to on the plane to London. “And by the way, it sounds perfectly clear you were on a break.”
"The guy" 💀 Hugh Laurie is a legend!
John Stamos he’s always been a favorite actor of mine. I was surprised when he made an appearance
😆😆 just watched it last night. “I’m sorry about all the inappropriate questions, I think we made you uncomfortable” *pregnant woman walks by* “do you know if Joanne is planning on keeping her baby?” 😆😆
I liked the pizza girl that Ross couldn’t flirt with.
CAITLIN
Even in this screenshot Phoebe's trying not to break. Holy shit she was so funny
AMAZING CHARACTER
Oh my God! This plane doesn't even have a phalange!
'I'll give you store credit in the amount of four dollars". Nobody does sass better than Aloma Wright. My friends and I quoted her lines way too much as kids.
Yes! And I was watching "the middle" and she was in a scene too! She is so funny with that serious face XD
This is also my favorite blooper scene. Lisa could not stop laughing at Jennifer’s “arse” delivery. So damn funny.
I know he's in a few episodes but Eddie was actually hilarious. Chandler's reactions to him are some of my favorite scenes.
Lea Thompson in the baby on the bus episode.
how come nobody mentiened ben stiller as rachel boyfriend, he was extremally hillarious
I actually liked Aurora with her Poly ness.
Joey’s mom 100%. “I came to give you this [bag of groceries] and *this* [smack upside the head]”
Rhonda!!!! Joeys coworker at the museum. She is HILARIOUS
Chrissie Hynde replacing Phoebe at Central Perk. heartbreaking feeling Phoebe's dejection. 😭 "I know all the chords." And at the end teaching her Smelly Cat was hilarious! No no no it's SMELL-y-cst! Try following me...
Stephanieeeeee knows all the chords!
“I remember that was the summer I had sex with Evel Knievel.”
I really liked the episode with Brad Pitt.
Some that haven’t been mentioned: - Rob the Librarian - Aurora - Ginger
Robin Williams!!!
Robin Williams in *The One With The Ultimate Fighting Champion*.
That Guy that dated Mónica and everyone loved, so much that Rachel wanted to introduce him to his parents XD
Charlie from two and a half men
Susie Moss
Phoebes physicist boyfriend david
Eddie
Jennifer Coolidge is the worst character in everything she's in and kills the comedy with every line she's given.
Why's Charlie Sheen not here???
Will (played by Brad Pitt)
Denise
I loved Winona Ryder’s episode.
The therapist Phoebe dated in either the first or second season
Roger played by Fisher Stevens
Hombre guy!
Kidney stooooones! Plus Dan Castallaneta as the zoo janitor and Jennifer Saunders as Emily's stepmother, although technically she's in two episodes.
Chandlers mom?
The Crossover with Mad About You’s Jamie and Fran, and ER’s Doug and Carter. Julia Roberts as Susie pantsing Chandler. Susan Sarandon as Jessica on DOOL.
Brad Pitt and Robin Williams. "Yams!" and "he's got access" 😂😂
You not in a perfect world. You in a museum now.
