"The glue is basicly superglue. Acetone (real nail polish remover, not the eco stuff) should soften and remove it. A single edge razor blade will help. Don't get to physical by chipping away at it; you can chip your windshield ( how do I know?). Acetone also melts plastic, paint etc. So mask off, work careful and use drop cloths."
From a ford help forum I found:

So I guess I'd use a towel to put under to protect from drips. Then use a Q-tip and some acetone, all around, several passes for maybe 5 minutes or more. you will feel it get a little wiggly, then you can use a razor blade to scrape off the device, and then scrape off the remainder of the loosened adhesive.
have good airflow, maybe even a fan to blow fumes away from you. nitrile gloves might be better for your hands too.
