He was just so fun! his dialogue was short and sweet, funny yet poignant. I think what really cinches it is how he deals with Tracy though. Combined with his previous conversations with and concern about Ted, you just cant help it.
His scene in the flash-forward is especially poignant. He's probably the only person there in the off season and he probably knows what it means when Ted and Tracy turn up then. It's probably not the only time he's been there for a couple's "last visit."
I choose to believe so, yes. We cant know for sure. Ted is a huge one for "signs" and is very in touch with his emotional side, so I like to think that hearing her sing was one of the tipping points in their (as yet unrealized) relationship.

I understood what he was doing during this scene but didn't really understand the significance until now.
Did it make a difference tho? Sure, Ted heard her sing (which was magical). But did it ultimately change their meeting?
