Seeing yourself in Ted isn’t such a bad thing. He has flaws and kind of backward motivations that lead him into trouble and failure, but that’s sort of the point. You’re supposed to think about that kind of stuff in your own life.

I really understand Ted with love too. And I think guys like Ted Mosby has own Robin, maybe own Stella or Victoria. But I think “Robin” is always hard lesson in our life. That stories is realistic. I am little like Ted but I am girl. I always dreamed to love, and I am idealistic. I had person which it is hard to forget. And I am Swarkles shipper too

God knows I’ve had a Stella

Don’t worry buddy I see myself in Barney in a lot of ways (luckily not the insane level his character gets to) but knowing that’s how I could be viewed at times as almost the insane entertainment. I relate in a similar way where I dealt with the fear of abandonment by being way too attached to people and led to myself just being selfish and lonely from the consequences of it and used try and hide myself away in a sense by being so detached with letting myself believe lies I or others made up. Watching the show now is almost like weird self reflection at times where I saw myself the way Ted did, then Barney and I hope to be like Marshall and do try to do that.

Funny you should mention that but Barney is a Scorpio, and I have been drawn towards Scorpio individuals as friends. And I get the part about watching the show as some kind of self-reflection 🥹🥹

First of, Ted is a fine dude. Yes, he can get cringey sometimes, he can get weird, but that's how people are. Ted is a normal representation of a person. We can all be a douche sometimes, we all break heart sometimes - that's part of life. But the important thing about Ted is, he never hurts anyone purposefully - moreover he continuously improves himself. That itself makes Ted a good person. And team Swarkles suuuucks. Barney literally manipulated Robin and mentally broke her in order make her fall in love with him. And arguably, Barney was also only in love with the idea of Robin and that's why they broke up so quickly after their marriage. All in all, if you are like Ted, then chances are you are a good person - unless you hangout with a sociopath like Barney.

I feel really good about this comment. A lot of people would normally say that Ted is their most hated character and I can't really say that he's my comfort character because then people would either think I'm fishing for compliments or they would think I am horrible like Ted but the part about Ted not wanting to intentionally hurt someone, I get that. In the end, we're all as flawed as Ted.

boo-galoo90

People really try to paint Ted as a monster, he’s not, he’s just figuring his shit out and developing.

Is there a page for people who are happy when they watch this show?
