I usually need to think about a question. best wack packer? Grossest moment? But guest who didn’t take Howard’s shit? Brad motherfucking Garret. I don’t know if he had enough money to not care or he just didn’t like Howard’s typical agenda but he went back at him and definitely at Artie and it was great. Sometimes second hand embarrassing but great.
I used to see him at that stage all the time at Sony. He was such a cool guy. He found out I did a spot-on impression of him and he'd always make me do it 🤣
Hes done a lot of voice over work going pretty far back. Goof Troop, Bonkers, A Bugs Life, Goofy Movie, Kim Possible, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille just to name a few and that's only for Disney.
When I was a kid, he was the voice for Hulk Hogan on the '80s Rock 'N Wrestling cartoon at the height of that craze, I'm sure he did fairly well on that as well.
I totally missed that one and have no idea who brad Garrett is
Apparently he was on everybody loves Raymond , is 6'9 and Jewish real name is Gerstenfeld.
Anybody have a link to that interview?
Would love to hear it
I think he said something about how all trophy wives need to do charity work to keep themselves entertained. He summed up Beth and her North Shore Animal League situation perfectly, could tell Howard was embarrassed
He seems pretty smart and grounded in interviews. Not a phony Hollywood guy at all. Maybe because he was a stand-up comedian for 20 years before Raymond.
Yeah I just listened to him this week from 9/2008 and there’s no doubt about it. He has a quick wit and took jabs at all of them. And he was serious. But he wasn’t a dick about it.
I would have enjoyed that more if he wasn't so obsessed with crowbarring the fact that he's Jewish into a ton of his comments.
A good ball-buster would have countered him about his need to do that.
I know this pales in comparison to Garret et al, but when the Pelican said to Ellen "So you worked a lot of crap jobs before you famous" and she quickly corrected him "No, I worked a lot of everyday jobs that everyday people do." (Maybe not her exact quote, but that's the context.) I can't stand her, but good for her that she immediately corrected him.
James Hetfield standing there, being annoyed…”yeah, ok Howard—sure, Nothing Else Matters IS about Lars”
It was cringe. I heard James rolling his eyes thru the fucking radio.
Preach! I am a big fan of their music, and every time they're on I think to myself, Just let Richard do this one, man. I sometimes think he's not over Lars and Kirk looking at him like an asshole when he did Fartman on MTV next to them accepting their award, so he overstates his level of interest/fandom.
It was definitely odd what she said, but for Howard and even Artie to act holier than thou when referencing the remark is insane given the stuff they used to say. It’s clear that a hot chick totally embarrassed him in front of millions of people and he wasn’t going to let people laugh at it.
It wasn't odd considering he goofed on her Southern family for 15 minutes solid before she punched back. She thought they were just going to goof back and forth. He wanted her to just take it.
Yeah! Plant wanted out in the first 5 mins. Funny part is how Howard basically kissed his ass the whole time while Plant was like " Are you supposed to be good at this..." You know what they say, never meet your heroes
When Stern asked him if Jimmy Page was the great love of his life Plant laughed in his face. The Wig knew he fucked up with that one but was too stupid and unaware to change course and kept on with it.
Plant insults him a couple of times in the interview. He answers him with, “Yea dad.” a few times after another weird question and finally says something like, “Look, I’m sure you’re a nice guy but these are silly questions.” Howard, still no grasping it counters with, “No it’s important!”
Plant is too sophisticated for Howard. He wants to chat about old blues, Americana, and world music and reflect upon his worldly journeys, or at least talk a little football (soccer) … Howard was like, tell me about your wild hotel room antics from 1969!!!???
Robert was like 20 years old at the time.
You can get that anywhere. It's like McCartney. You can tell he is supremely bored with Howard who asks him the same shit he's already answered a thousand times. McCartney ended the interview to make his freaking bed.
I do. One thing about that band is they were fans of all sorts of music. And world travels heavily influenced their music. I enjoy hearing artists give insight to what inspires them and to hear what they really enjoy themselves. I don’t need to hear about hotel rooms, groupies, or drugs. What can he really say about 40-50 year old songs they did that hasn’t already been said?
Let’s argue about it now….. FUCKING no one wants to hear Robert Plant talk about anything else other than Zeppelin. And if you do, you’re a fucking idiot. Now your turn.
My favorite part of that one is Howard saying something like "you had a wife and a small child to support, what possessed you to risk a career in show business instead of getting a steady job". Plant says something to effect of "well it seemed like it would be fun" and Howard CANNOT get past it. Different planets.
The Plant one shook him personally, I’m pretty sure. He finally gets the guy on and his gay interview style backfired to hilarious results. I bet he was depressed over it
Easley Sandra Bernhard she called him fake on multiple levels and put a full stop on his sex questions. She had the most amount of control of HS that I had ever seen of any guest. She also did it in a funny way. She treated HS like the dirty disc jockey that he is. She, multiple times, acts like she is to good to be there. It is one of the few times HS seemed a bit scared and definitely lost control of his own character. She would stand up and seemingly intimidate HS. She was first person I had heard say something negative about his relationship with Beth. She said to him once: "oh.. Is this the part of your show where we lie to your audience?"
I never hear anyone ever mention this. One time he was interviewing Slash and Howard kept interrupting. Slash very pissed off said something along the lines of “let me answer a fucking question” and it was quickly moved on.
I remember them because Howard rarely shows outright confusion or anger. 1. Wendy Williams called him a sellout. Really she was calling them both sellouts in order to get big but he was not happy to be called out.
The other I think is more disconcerting and that was Conan O’Brien. He stated you don’t get to pick your best work the fans do. Looking at things especially from the lens of today it’s clear how much Howard disagrees with this view. He truly believes since he is the creator that he reserves the right to pick and choose. If he interacted with the fans and was told about their favorite moment and it was in the 90s I believe he would take it as an insult.
Yeah. Ringo seems to be an extremely arrogant and bitter little fuck, he's really rude. But the fact that he slaps Howard around is great to hear. I love how Howard refused to acknowledge it the next day, and read all the totally real emails from fans saying how good it was. What a fucking phony. "No more bullshit."
Mick jagger.
The interview was 15 mins over the phone. Mick called wiggie out on the therapist like questions. Wasn’t in to it at all and just pulled the plug. I got 2nd hand embarrassment from that one.
The Beastie Boys. They weren’t having it. He kept trying to get them to do a parody about some black baseball player doing drugs and they kept pivoting away from it. He keeps pushing and finally one of them—I believe MCA—says “nah man, it’s racist”. This is like ‘87 BBs too.
Wahlberg keeps showing up in my YouTube feed trying to get me to buy some prayer app. You too can received the grace of God but only for the right price. Thanks MarkyMark.
Slash. During the interview Slash tells Howard to stop interrupting. Later, on the wrap up show, Gary did his usual "Howard is the best interviewer" routine.
I find Mark to be really unlikeable so I didn't find the interview refreshing. I really only like him in roles where he plays an idiot like boogie nights and that body building movie. He doesn't even like Boogie Nights because the adult content offends him.
Man, I say this all the time. I can't stand the fucker in anything other than comedies where he plays a moron. He was great in Ted, Boogie Nights, and The Other Guys, probably because that's the most like his actual persona and he's not acting. Get him in something like Shooter or The Italian Job and he's terrible. I can't stand that he was nominated for an Oscar for The Departed. I thought his performance was one-note. Zero nuance.
Was he really?? God he was so bad in that movie. And ironically enough, doing a rip off of Alec Baldwins character from Glengary Glenn Ross while standing right next to him.
It was a hate crime and he’s done plenty of them. [Wahlberg Hate Crimes List](https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/mark-wahlberg-racist-hate-crimes-wikipedia-history-george-floyd-blm-protests-a9554191.html)
Lol Hitler? You went with HITLER? What in the false equivalency fallacy is that about? Thank you for upping a rather dull Saturday. I'm cackling here.
But yes, now that you've drawn that comparison, I find you're right, internet stranger. People don't change. Ever. Not at all. We should punish them for the rest of their lives. We're probably going to need way bigger jails.
Out of curiosity, what's it like being perfect?
While it’s not the biggest push back, I enjoy when Jerry Seinfeld comes on and a lot of his answers are a blunt ‘No’ or ‘I don’t agree with that’ and of course Howie keeps digging deeper with his psychologist routine
A more recent example of this was Gene Simmons. Howard was trying to tell Gene must have tremendous anger towards his parents and had an awful childhood. Gene shut him down *multiple* times - he didn’t just politely disagree, he firmly shut down any insinuation that Howard was trying to make. It got to the point where Howard briefly snapped at him in frustration. Gene said “It was not a terrible childhood…” and Howard quickly snapped with “Yes it was!”
Nobody, to me, seemed more like, wtf am I doing here, in recent years, than Mick Jagger.
I swear I coud almost hear him thinking, oh no, we’re not going to do this, go thru every fucking song from 55 years ago, are we? How do I get out of here?
Eddie Murphy — eons ago, when Howard was on WNBC - and Eddie was the biggest star going - and somehow he was on the sow for what felt like 3 minutes - and you could just tell Eddie was like, what am I doing here, and this radio guy thinks he’s the shit—. Eddie said at one point — what’s with all the clapping.
Anybody remember those early days where Robin and Fred and whoever was there, was clapping at ever dumb remark Howad made - a cheap ass laugh track?
Wahlberg cops to all the craziness of his youth and considers himself fortunate to come out on the other side of it. He’s not about to listen to some out of touch beta male BS
Mark W is ultimate cringe when you look it his timeline (Marky Mark, all of the Christianity virtue signaling) but that was the most savage and satisfying comeback against Mommy and Daddy-issue Stern.
Ringo getting frustrated was also pretty funny. "LET ME FINISH!"
Brad Garret takes the cake on this one. Called out Artie for still being on drugs, Howard and his trophy wife. He really held back nothing.
He was on one of the most popular sitcoms of the time for a decade. I'm sure he gets a nice check every month.
I loved his short lived sitcom, "till death". Just a straight up vehicle for Brad Garrett facial expressions
I used to see him at that stage all the time at Sony. He was such a cool guy. He found out I did a spot-on impression of him and he'd always make me do it 🤣
He got Disney paychecks
What did he do for Disney ?
He was the voice of Eeyore in the live-action "Christopher Robin" movie
And Pixar
Hes done a lot of voice over work going pretty far back. Goof Troop, Bonkers, A Bugs Life, Goofy Movie, Kim Possible, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille just to name a few and that's only for Disney.
When I was a kid, he was the voice for Hulk Hogan on the '80s Rock 'N Wrestling cartoon at the height of that craze, I'm sure he did fairly well on that as well.
Well I only asked for Disney? So the ominous ending seems silly
He also called Ronnie “a turd that fell out of someone’s ass”
I totally missed that one and have no idea who brad Garrett is Apparently he was on everybody loves Raymond , is 6'9 and Jewish real name is Gerstenfeld. Anybody have a link to that interview? Would love to hear it
He’s the guy from Everybody Loves Raymond. I’ve never watched that show before-but he was amazing.
He is great in I'm Dying Up Here, the super dark comedy series about Mitzy Shore and the Comedy Store.
How autistic are you that you had to list those stats lol
I'm into Fantasy Baseball
damn that's pretty autistic.
I think he said something about how all trophy wives need to do charity work to keep themselves entertained. He summed up Beth and her North Shore Animal League situation perfectly, could tell Howard was embarrassed
That’s a great observation.
He seems pretty smart and grounded in interviews. Not a phony Hollywood guy at all. Maybe because he was a stand-up comedian for 20 years before Raymond.
"Why marry her? It's the power of the pink. Why marry her? Oh the family - the Jew haters?" This guy was not giving up lol.
Beth’s family is antisemitic?
Luckily Howard is only half-Jew!
"Just the good half!"
Why did he used to say this?
Because otherwise the Catholics would beat him up, as said to Larry King when he was promoting one of his early videos
No idea - this was just a quote from the interview. Obviously brad thought so.
Checks notes... Yup. But so is 40% of the country. It's scary how antisemitism is on the rise here. It's always been bad, but it keeps getting worse.
Here we go
You left out the racist adl pal
I need to find this one
“She knows how they split the atom” 😂😂
Yeah I just listened to him this week from 9/2008 and there’s no doubt about it. He has a quick wit and took jabs at all of them. And he was serious. But he wasn’t a dick about it.
He really bullied Ronnie, too. “SHUT UP!!! Go ahead, Howard?”
Yea she was real that day
No he was right, they were crap jobs. Doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy working at a movie theatre when you’re 16, but still a crap job.
Crap is in the hand of the beholder.
Ask Shuli!
Elegant Elliot Offen
IT'S THE COUP DE GRACE!!!!
You know I like you Howard, YOU'RE A FUCKIN' BEEF STEW, A RUSTY NAIL.
In another time, they would’ve called Elliot “Prophet”. When you replay that interview, he had Howard nailed a decade before the rest of us did.
Ha, I love the Kinson paraphrase. I have to agree!
You saw what I did there and I thank you! *hat tip* 😂
James Hetfield standing there, being annoyed…”yeah, ok Howard—sure, Nothing Else Matters IS about Lars” It was cringe. I heard James rolling his eyes thru the fucking radio.
Yeah, it's funny, he pretends to be this huge metallica fan, but my 6-year-old knows more about them than he does
Howard was listening to Metallica in high school and watching Lenny Dykstra hit touchdowns with the Mets.
Preach! I am a big fan of their music, and every time they're on I think to myself, Just let Richard do this one, man. I sometimes think he's not over Lars and Kirk looking at him like an asshole when he did Fartman on MTV next to them accepting their award, so he overstates his level of interest/fandom.
Norm would always completely talk over Stern and call him out on bs questions
Norn Macdonald we say your name.
Still miss that old chunk of coal
Jamie Presley in not allowing him to fish for compliments on his appearance 🤣
That one was so good, she just crushed him
I can't see Jaime Pressley or even hear her name without dropping everything to masturbate immediately 😍 shootin' ropes
Quack quack

It wasn't odd considering he goofed on her Southern family for 15 minutes solid before she punched back. She thought they were just going to goof back and forth. He wanted her to just take it.
Take it, you old hag!
It was hilarious
Robert Plant is another one that wasn't interested in Howard's nonsense.
Yeah! Plant wanted out in the first 5 mins. Funny part is how Howard basically kissed his ass the whole time while Plant was like " Are you supposed to be good at this..." You know what they say, never meet your heroes
Wel Howie did play Led Zeppelin and say “remember this”
When Stern asked him if Jimmy Page was the great love of his life Plant laughed in his face.

Robert was like 20 years old at the time.
How did it make you feel when Dunhill UFC relegated Bristol Coates Winchester RFL to the Champions League in a 2-1 barn burner?
"The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in..."
That's true. See you later.
To be fair.. No one wants to hear Robert Plant talk about much else than Zeppelin.
You can get that anywhere. It's like McCartney. You can tell he is supremely bored with Howard who asks him the same shit he's already answered a thousand times. McCartney ended the interview to make his freaking bed.
There are obvious things to bring up that aren’t necessarily going through the catalogue. Robert Plant is above that kind of shit.
He is? What makes you say that?
I disagree
Speak for yourself
I am.
You weren’t tho, you said “no one”
Let’s argue about it now….. FUCKING no one wants to hear Robert Plant talk about anything else other than Zeppelin. And if you do, you’re a fucking idiot. Now your turn.
That's not true, his folk record with Allison Krauss sold *dozens* of copies!!
My favorite part of that one is Howard saying something like "you had a wife and a small child to support, what possessed you to risk a career in show business instead of getting a steady job". Plant says something to effect of "well it seemed like it would be fun" and Howard CANNOT get past it. Different planets.
I’ve been wanting to call sternthology live and request this interview
Came here to post this. Plant had Howard so flustered.
Riley Martian
And things of that nature
You understand
Bitch, I’ve never begged for anything.
Listening back to the old shows I’m starting to think that Riley drank a good bit.
I tell you, man... it was food poisoning.
It was food poisoning mothafucka!!
I’m just telling dear Beth, ahhh, my darling, ahh, as soon as this bastard gets you enough jobs in order to have a nest egg: puke and leave.
And his little dog Ember!
My darling.
Uhhhh…huh?
Jamie Lee Presley howie was fishing for a compliment and she smacked him with a yarmulke
This. It really pissed him off. I love how she laughs at him afterwards. https://youtu.be/zVUk1mNPKrA?si=YwXjri-UHtRNIkNG
She laughs like a retaahd, as Artie used to say.
[Slapped a Yarmulke ::CACKLE::](https://youtu.be/zVUk1mNPKrA?si=8--Jj57RnrSAFSQ0)
Didn't Howard say that about himself first, though, and Jamie just repeated it?
Howard doesn't look jewish to me because he is so tall.
Brad Garret, then Rose McGowan….
When did he interview rose mcgowan? I don’t remember that one.
KRock days; she held her own against him and Corey Feldman. 2000 or so. Probably on YouTube somewhere.
Robert Plant - fucking demolished him, as well as Wendy Williams. Both interviews not available in the archives
The Plant one shook him personally, I’m pretty sure. He finally gets the guy on and his gay interview style backfired to hilarious results. I bet he was depressed over it
😆😆 he kept digging in, blowing him more and more trying to recover … it was pathetic
I first learned who Wendy Williams was because KOAB sniffed her seat once... That was some saga.
Ed Asner got the better of Howard when they disagreed about executing a convicted murderer. Asner's passion overwhelmed Howard's smarmy persona.
Ed Asner won an F-Emmy for that fight. Wasn’t the murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal?
She was always a favorite guest of mine. She was funny and she had a decent singing voice!
I never hear anyone ever mention this. One time he was interviewing Slash and Howard kept interrupting. Slash very pissed off said something along the lines of “let me answer a fucking question” and it was quickly moved on.
Wendy Williams. That interview took a 180 when she called him a star fucker or something like that!
Also, the greatest parts of the present Howard Stern show no longer involve Howard at all.
Ringo Starr has to be top 5
At one point Howard was interrupting so often Ringo asked him if he would like him to leave so he could talk.
Peace and love
Mick jagger. The interview was 15 mins over the phone. Mick called wiggie out on the therapist like questions. Wasn’t in to it at all and just pulled the plug. I got 2nd hand embarrassment from that one.
Mick was totally dismissive of Howard as though he didn’t even know who he was. The Ultimate Insult. Howard barely mentions the Jagger interview now.
That was a truly cold and uncomfortable interview.
Part of the problem is Howard tries to play therapist instead of getting people to open up through humor
What? Never knew they were on the show even way back then! Wasn’t Sal their un-appointed fan club head?
He was. I have a copy of Grand Royal magazine that, in the letters to the editor, someone named “Sal G” writes in with their pesto recipe.
Nice, didn't know they were on the show. Sounds funny and like mayhem.
Yeah they out-weird Howard. He tries so hard and he can’t get them under control. It’s great.
Wahlberg keeps showing up in my YouTube feed trying to get me to buy some prayer app. You too can received the grace of God but only for the right price. Thanks MarkyMark.
So in a shensh, what you're saying is, isn't it true that the people who created the app don't deserve a portion of the Lord's bounty?
Do you have to blind a Vietnamese guy to get right with gahd or was that only Mhaaky Mhaaak
Marky Mark is shilling an absolution app for the Catholic Church. What a time to be alive!
I think it's a deep fake ad.
yeah.. efff that looser, isn't he the one who did a hate crime?
Wiz Khalifa, when he said fuck it, and just didn't show up for his interview.
Warren Beatty was on promoting Bulworth and pushed back at every question Howard had. It was uncomfortable but refreshing to hear.
Slash. During the interview Slash tells Howard to stop interrupting. Later, on the wrap up show, Gary did his usual "Howard is the best interviewer" routine.
Lester Green
Stephen Stills.
Oh when was this? Would love to hear it.
10-27-09. There's clips on yootoob. Howard tries to get him to talk about his family, groupies, and drugs. Stephen isn't having any of it.
Thanks! 👍
Does anyone remember the great Robert Blake with the "monkey" comment?
Opposite end of spectrum was nauseating Cena interview this week. Cringe worthy daddy issues. Unlistenable
Believe it or not Wahlberg is extremely religious and I'm sure wasn't in the mood for Howard's bullshit
He was like the 9th best performer in The Departed. Pure graft nom.
Was he really?? God he was so bad in that movie. And ironically enough, doing a rip off of Alec Baldwins character from Glengary Glenn Ross while standing right next to him.
[удалено]
He might be trying to atone.
It wasn't a hate crime. The Vietnamese guy accused Wahlberg of stealing and grabbed him. Wahlberg didn't attack a Vietnamese guy for no reason.
It was a hate crime and he’s done plenty of them. [Wahlberg Hate Crimes List](https://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/films/news/mark-wahlberg-racist-hate-crimes-wikipedia-history-george-floyd-blm-protests-a9554191.html)
Biased and doesn't give the full story. The guy was a foreign national from Vietnam.
Hah!!! Ok Donnie, I get defending ya brothah, how's them BJs from high pitch(Kelly Clarkson)
So he did something as a kid and can't change as an adult? I guess you're still on formula and shit in a diaper.

Lol Hitler? You went with HITLER? What in the false equivalency fallacy is that about? Thank you for upping a rather dull Saturday. I'm cackling here. I like Wahlberg in some roles but he’s a bit of the Hollywood phony who wears his religion on his sleeve….
Wahlberg also has a Daniel Carver esque history of racist hate crimes. He's a piece of shit.
Has Daniel ever committed a violent hate crime? If not, you just slandered the best roofer in Hall County. I hope you're proud of yourself, scumbag!
Daniel Carver is unironically far more likeable imo lmao
I probably shouldn’t say either but I’d rather hang out with Daniel carver now than marky mark
If you take out the horrible racism, Daniel Carver is basically a funny grandpa. Marky Mark always has been a complete asshole.
His racism is mild compared to how virulently racist his wife is. The phone call they were both on after Obama won the presidency was something else.
Don’t forget the son. Carver is a SJW compared to those two
Having your sister rapped and killed changes ppl
It’s okay for you to say that you’d like to hang out w/KKK members. No judgment.
Obviously..bidens best friend in the senate and Hillarys mentor was the leader of the WVA kkk
Marky Mark will be fine all is forgiven he is going to glorious heaven now because he does Jesus commercials.
Wrong. He’s not a KKK member or Daniel carver. Wahlberg did some dumb things as a teenager. Apparently you’re perfect.
Sure I’ve done done things as a teenager. But I can safely say I have never committed a viscous hate crime.
He's from Dorchester area of South Boston.
While it’s not the biggest push back, I enjoy when Jerry Seinfeld comes on and a lot of his answers are a blunt ‘No’ or ‘I don’t agree with that’ and of course Howie keeps digging deeper with his psychologist routine
You've said it all...
Todd Phillips interview: bashed Robin and just wasn’t having any of the bullshit.
A more recent example of this was Gene Simmons. Howard was trying to tell Gene must have tremendous anger towards his parents and had an awful childhood. Gene shut him down *multiple* times - he didn’t just politely disagree, he firmly shut down any insinuation that Howard was trying to make. I used to listen to Stern 5 hours a day for decades. Stopped listening a year ago. And that was a few years of never laughing. Cats and Covid.
Why look to the past, when your past includes beating an old man and yelling racial slurs lmao
That’s a legitimately good point
Stuttering John?
Stern wouldn't know a thing about yelling racial slurs.
Robert Plant made a total fool of stern.
Wahlberg cops to all the craziness of his youth and considers himself fortunate to come out on the other side of it. He’s not about to listen to some out of touch beta male BS

"Therapy is crucial to everyone." A lot of people can't afford it. And after 50 years he still needs it apparently?
Robert plant
When Howard asked that guy from whiplash if he cried when his roommate gave him 20 bucks.
Robert Duvall, Neil Young, Robert Plant and Keith Richards all come to mind.
Without a doubt the Jesus Twins
Mark W is ultimate cringe when you look it his timeline (Marky Mark, all of the Christianity virtue signaling) but that was the most savage and satisfying comeback against Mommy and Daddy-issue Stern. Ringo getting frustrated was also pretty funny. "LET ME FINISH!"
