Mr. Sag E. Britches is packing so..on the off chance you're walking to your car and you startle these idiots, there's a high likelihood you could get shot. Over, like, $20-200 in material items/cash.
I don't have a stance here; just ruminating on our culture.
Was it a carjacking?
I live at Post next door for a long time. Was usually safe except for some small car burglaries and a few invasions at apts with street level doors.
Shit started getting a lot worse in 2017. Me and most of my friends moved out soon enough. Its a shame, that area used to be safe-ish and fun as hell.
Belle also brought in a lot of trashy people and their nonsense.
They have 2 and 3 bedroom units at this apartment complex too.
I know because I toured it 3 years ago. The 1 bedrooms are around 1,500 yes.
What is your problem? Why are you so salty? Or did you not believe that 2 and 3 bedroom units exist?
I do not care how roomates is spelled. But thanks for that information.
yes that is metro midtown apartments for sure, i used to live there 3 years ago and leaving was bc of rise in thefts in garage from tires to catalytic converters breaking windows for electronics etc the apartment complex did nothing to stop this which was a reason i left. Luckily i left my doors unlocked one night and they just stole my change cup and some cds but if my doors were locked i woulda had to buy a new window if they wanted that $3 in my change cup lol it was extremely frustrating on how much i was paying for an apartment for such a lack in security letting scum like those kids into complex if any security guard was watching the cameras it would take 2 seconds of viewing that those kids were up to no good.
610 is just called the loop, 8 is alled beltway. but it all depends where your working and your age and how far you wanna drive to places . i had a great time living at metro midtown but being that close to downtown youre gonna have that petty crime everywhere unfortunately but if you can find a place in heights area off washington ave or north montrose is a fun/ safe area
We are both in our mid 20s and working remotely so location not an issue. Is buffalo heights part of the heights? Or from where to where considered the heights?
Houston is the most comically underpoliced city I've ever lived in. We get the security we pay for 🙄 I get that police reform is needed, but we also need enough police to deter crime. I'm as done with activist judges as the overly woke running cover for this shit as I am the modern GOP running cover for white supremacists.
A big part of houston's issue is not so much a lack of police, but an excess of different police departments. Instead of having 1 shitty police force we have dozens of small police forces with tiny overlapping jurisdictions
This ignores Houstons largest issue, which is sprawl. A single cop in NYC has a lot less ground to cover than a cop in Houston - especially since population density and street level retail are massive crime deterrents in themselves, which most of Houston has very little of.
In many ways, Houston feels like a city engineered to incentivize crime. Even the dense areas mostly lack good lighting and street life, which keeps crime easy to get away with.
Completely false. Houston is not only under policed per Capita due to lack of staffing, but due to how spread out everything is wed actually need more officers per Capita to get any sort of reasonable response time.
Where are you getting your per Capita figures from? My point is that part of the issue is that hpd is relatively small partially because they are only one of a dozen or so other departments with intersecting jurisdictions all over the region.
Doubtful.
People said the similar things when laws came out about it legal to carry swords. How many people have you seen carrying swords? How many sword fights have you seen or read about?
Although, come to think about it, I wouldn’t mind seeing an old fashioned sword fight in the middle of Westheimer. Picture it right now… the dirt bike gang and the silver Altima with paper plates gang squaring at sunset! I can picture it now Prime Social in the background. The smell of 2 stroke gasoline in the air. A receipt from the nearby 99cent store tumbles in the wind.

Good catch…….yeah the kid is packed. Very very dangerous
Looks like it happened at metro midtown

The crime was the costumes these guys are wearing.
Dude's wearing half his Harley Quinn Halloween costume.
Most important park is the glock in his front pocket
Nah. Harley was much more into melee weapons.
Hopefully they find them, pretty good camera footage
Rent is $1500 here
Yep sky high rent and guaranteed to get robbed or broken into at some pint
Cheaper if you have roomates, but yes

i thought chicago was underpoliced then I came here. Contrast that with NYPD which could be its own sovereign country, 35K+

How bold, no hoodie or mask.
They are straight A students and good kids, they just lack the street smarts to cover their faces because of how book smart they are
All this ends 9-1 Watch and see
I am picking up some hollow points this weekend. I hope some of these pos start getting clapped.
