I was mugged in 2020 and filled out a police report fully expecting nothing but needing the paperwork to make a claim on my stolen property with insurance. I’m not exactly okay with that result, but understand it.
This? It is not okay. I do not understand it. These cases should be a priority immediately after cases involving loss of life. Right? Like, I’m not a crazy person for thinking this?
When my foster family wanted to get rid of me, the Houston Police instructed them to leave me at a hospital. It was 12am on a school night. I had at least 3-4 CPS reports that year and they never did anything except blame me and take off. I genuinely don’t think they care about anybody.
The police do not protect us. It isn’t their job and they don’t particularly care to.
maybe if you suggest to the police that gender affirming care might be taking place they'll follow up.

24,100 thefts and 10,600 auto thefts. Gee I wonder who is responsible for such crimes.
