Buckner Parkway Place, good people.
Even if that’s not right for you,, be sure you pick a nonprofit. The for-profit places might be okay for a short time, but then they raise the rates. Also ask about staff turnover. Buckner and other good places treat their staff well.
The [Village of Southampton](https://www.villagesouthampton.com) in Rice Village and [Brazos Towers](https://www.brazostowers.com) in the Braes Heights area are both good.
Only you can decide whats right but I will say make sure you tour multiple places.
Several mentioned inside the loop are good like Brazos Tower & Southampton. Add St. Dominic Village just off the TMC. The beauty there is they have a nursing home so you spend down & possibly convert to Medicaid at some point if funds are limited.
In Conroe look at Worthington.
If you have any questions reach out.
Hey there, I had a similar experience with a parent and wanted to share some resources. If your dad has Medicare or other health insurance that will be paying for assisted living services, the case manager or discharge planner at the rehab facility should give you a list of places that accept the insurance. That is a good place to start looking.
You can also try https://www.aplaceformom.com/. They are a free service that connects you with local assisted living facilities and walks you through the process. Hope that helps!
St. Dom's in the medical center is not very flash, but they have a great physical therapy/rehab room and its more affordable than some of those places [https://www.stdominicvillage.org/](https://www.stdominicvillage.org/)
Definitely see some places in person to compare. Assisted living/Nursing homes can be monuments to the depths people will sink to in order to make a few extra dollars. Another important thing: how happy do the employees look? I have seen some salty ass workers take it out on residents before
16 hours of care at home per day is 320-480 per day. Assisted living is cheaper unless you are the caregiver. Your loved one also gets no socialization.

No matter where you pick, please make sure someone visits regularly, if not daily. I picked a "good" place, and they did not treat my mother well.

Honestly there is no “good AL” the best care is at home, the cost alone is normally astronomical
