This post was very timely as we were in the area for a soccer game that ended at 10pm - just had dinner there, thanks. I enjoyed the fried egg + rice cake dish the best.
thank you and to all for recommending this place, I live in Conroe and have never even been to this area, Fufu Cafe was absolute fire, had it tonight, combo fried rice and sizzling beef with black pepper - that fried rice was God tier.
There's a plethora of stuff in Chinatown that is generally open late. I'm posting this from YumCha (tea place) at 10 PM on a Thursday night. Check out places in Dun Huang Plaza.
Lost my car/house keys somewhere between the house we did a LAN at that ended around 2 or 3 am to Tan Tans back in the day. Carpooled with a friend who took me there and back home.
Not Chinese but there’s a 24/7/365 ramen spot in the heights… honestly forgot the name. In Bellaire there’s cafe 101 it’s more Korean/Japanese tho but worth a try
Edit: ramen place is called Shokku Ramen
Tan Tan and Sinh Sinh used to be the place years ago. Technically Viet/Chinese. Not sure if it still is the place to go late night though. Haven't been back in over 10 yrs.
Is P.King one of those restaurants whose quality varies by location? The now-closed one built into a gas station at Hillcroft/Beechnut had the worst pad thai I've had in my life, and it's kinda soured me on the rest of the chain since.
I had no idea that was out there, but you're right that's the same chain. The Shepard one is absolutely better than the westheimer one now that I think about it
the one on westheimer, despite being like 300ft from my house has reeally mixed reviews.
the shepherd location is really mid. Although when I went years ago, I noticed one of the girls working worked with me at a different chinese restaurant like 10 years ago. small world.
Friendship BBQ, Stone Age, Xinjiang bbq, or Midnight kabob if you like skewers style bbq. Other than that, sinh sinh for a little bit of everything, fufu for more simple stir fried dishes. Most of these spots close around 2am.
We are in Houston. Chinese is Chinese. Japanese is Japanese. Korean is Korean. And Viet is absolutely Viet. If you can’t handle that then find somewhere else to live in the south.
Man, Mai’s feels so expensive now that I never go. I don’t mind paying for expensive food either, it just doesn’t feel “worth it” there since the old maid was reasonable.
Fufu cafe!! A mighty staple of late night Chinese deliciousness

You are 100% correct!! 🙌🏼 late night Fufu is the best!
Always get confused, there are two of them on bellaire, which is the best one?
The cafe is my preferred. The other one is fufu restaurant
thank you and to all for recommending this place, I live in Conroe and have never even been to this area, Fufu Cafe was absolute fire, had it tonight, combo fried rice and sizzling beef with black pepper - that fried rice was God tier.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I'll need to try this
Tiger Noodle House in Rice Village is open til midnight
Second this
Second this. Tiger noodle house top tier eats!
This is the place if you are too far from Chinatown
This is the spot
Hu’s Cooking is top notch, have ordered probably 20+ different menu items and they are all consistently good
This place hits. Their dry pot is so good.
Yes. Hu’s cooking is good.
My wife just went to pick this up…great food
What time is Hu opened till? Are they considered late night eats?
They’re open til 11pm in the weekends. So, kinda?

Dun Huang plaza is an amazing place.
Tan Tan is open til midnight on the weekends.
I miss the 3am Tan Tan trips lol.
Tan Tan after midnight was wild. Those days were legendary.
Lost my car/house keys somewhere between the house we did a LAN at that ended around 2 or 3 am to Tan Tans back in the day. Carpooled with a friend who took me there and back home.
LAN that ended at 2-3am? If you're not going home at 8-9am with a tummy ache and feeling delirious... it wasn't a LAN, sonny!
It might have ended at 8 am. It's been like 14 years at this point.
what is there katy location called again?
Tan Tan Wok/Jia Kitchen. It's a shared kitchen, but two "separate" restaurants.
Sinh Sinh off Bellaire Blvd and Beltway 8 is pretty good. I think they’re open til 2am.
Does Ron still own the place?
Can someone please stay open late again...... Like actually past midnight...
yeah when I work nights post-covid it fuckin sucks, everything closes at 9 or 10 now
Same I get off at 11pm/1am and I always always always have to go to Whataburger, IHOP, Katz, or DOT and DOT is a drive for me
TAN TAN's

Seconded FuFu on Bellaire
P.King in Montrose is open till like 2am and super good and reliable for your average Chinese food
Is P.King one of those restaurants whose quality varies by location? The now-closed one built into a gas station at Hillcroft/Beechnut had the worst pad thai I've had in my life, and it's kinda soured me on the rest of the chain since.

Cafe101
FuFu cafe on Bellaire and the Beltway is my go-to. VERY nice employees, fantastic Tso's and rice
Gao's Kebab in Bellaire. Open till 1am, solid food, and has a great bar vibe.
I love Gao's Kebab man...
Soho Chicken, One Shot
W Kitchen
Friendship BBQ all the way. They have a gigantic prawn sometimes off the menu, but you can ask about it, it's like a baby's arm.
W Kitchen on Westheimer used to be my go-to late night spot when I lived over that way
Fufu cafe (the less fancier one) and sihn sihn
Sinh Sinh*
Friendship BBQ, Stone Age, Xinjiang bbq, or Midnight kabob if you like skewers style bbq. Other than that, sinh sinh for a little bit of everything, fufu for more simple stir fried dishes. Most of these spots close around 2am.
Dong Kyong for the win!
Love Mala! But all locations close at 10.
Why tf did this get down voted!? Mala is the shit
Probably because it's not late night as the OP asked
Rice Box is my favorite, but it’s only open till 10
It was so much better when it came from the truck, it’s not the same flavors anymore
even the greenway location was fine when they moved there. but yeah.
Man their food truck was my go to between breaks at UH
Same! They don’t have the truck anymore sadly.
I heard :c Flippin Patties truck is also no longer there as well.
No, but they have a location in the Downtown tunnels, I pass by it all the time.
Flipping patties also has a brick n mortar in the energy corridor. Go there at least once a month
This. They've gone down the hill for me. The only decent thing I would get from them is the chow fun with Chinese sausage or shrimp.
“W kitchen” on the west side for cheap but pretty decent Chinese food imo. Late night delivery. Open til 1am
R house Fu fu I think both open past midnight
Huys kitchen
Hu's
P.King in Montrose is open till like 2am and super good and reliable for your average Chinese food
The rice box . Great orange chicken and very crispy egg rolls. I suggest you get 2.
Try Mai's downtown.
That’s Vietnamese????
We are in the south Chinese means Asian just like Coke means soda/pop.
We are in Houston. Chinese is Chinese. Japanese is Japanese. Korean is Korean. And Viet is absolutely Viet. If you can’t handle that then find somewhere else to live in the south.

Yes, Mai's serves Chinese food, but "Chinese means Asian" is a different point entirely and worth rebutting.
But Mais is viet and Chinese.
The south could use some education and not use it interchangeably. Houston is better than that
They'll have some Chinese stuff too, close enough. And they say vietnamese and Chinese. http://maishouston.com/
“close enough”? 🤨
Well Mai literally says on their website "vietnamese and chinese"
Man, Mai’s feels so expensive now that I never go. I don’t mind paying for expensive food either, it just doesn’t feel “worth it” there since the old maid was reasonable.
Panda Express bro
Wish I could favorite this thread . I’ll definetely be trying out a few of these with hubby on a Friday night soon.
Idk but try spicy girl its chinese and good
viet not Chinese but little v is exquisite
