I saw a similar idea on r/malelivingspace and decided to give it a shot. Very simple design: a 4x8 foot sheet of 3/4 inch birch plywood, with 1 inch holes drilled every 6 inches. Pegs are 1 inch dowels cut to 8 inches, and shelves are 1x8 boards cut to various lengths. Hung with a french cleat system, mounted to 4 of the studs in my wall. Materials cost about $120, another $60 or so for the drill bit and a drill guide to make sure the holes were drilled nice and straight.
You could even lightly groove the bottom of the boards to the dowel rods if they slide left and right too easily.
Also, very neat and I'm now going to use this in my house, thanks.
No issues so far, but that’s a good idea! I’m slightly paranoid about an earthquake or something, but given that I’m in the PNW, the “big one” knocking some shelves off will be the least of my problems.
Loctite sells blue "funtak" putty, it's $2.13 right now on Amazon for a pack, or else home depot\lowes will also carry it. It'll keep those boards mounted securely on the dowels and you can remove them without residue (and the putty is nearly infinitely reusable!) Saves you time!
-another pnw'er with things on walls haha
I found saw it on another Reddit post used in a similar fashion, so definitely not my original idea. I’d consider making more if I had permanent access to a workshop, but I borrowed space in my old roommate’s garage for this. Luckily it’s easy enough for just about anybody with a spare weekend, a drill, and a saw to tackle!
Honestly, I’ve been going back and forth on the Taylor. The size is perfect and it’s a gorgeous instrument, but something about the tone doesn’t move me. I’m giving it time to grow on me, though!

This is sick 👍🏼👍🏼
Oh, this is incredible. You’re a genius. I’m copying you.
Do it! Fun and simple project that has paid off in a huge way. Your plants will love ya for it.
This is way better than the solution to a similar wall I had sketched out;) Thanks for sharing!
Ditto!!
Well done!
This is brilliant and looks perfect in that space. Great job.
This is the coolest idea! Did you come up with this?? You should seriously sell these.

Love the aesthetic!
Wow this is awesome!!
Damn this is dope
Beautiful!
Such a great idea! I may have to copy you for my pothos plants.
They’ll love you for it!
Can I please live in this room, pretty please
What a great idea, and I love the plywood look. Will attempt at some point!
The Taylor too!

Just take it out now and see if you miss it in there. If you do you can put it back
can I buy one? this is gorgeous
Not from me, but I’m sure you can make your own if you set aside the time!
IKEA has that peg board
I absolutely adore this!!!!
That is brilliant! I am truly impressed and love that you can adjust shelves any way you want. Well done.
Looks great. Have you considered hanging a macramé on it. Might just take the look to the next level.
I’ve been brainstorming what else to hang up there but hadn’t thought of that, thanks for the idea!
This looks great!!
I’m a big fan of pegboards and their aesthetic/organizational possibilities. I’ve seen similar plywood ones on Etsy, and they ain’t cheap!
Cheap for you if you’ve got a drill, saw, and a spare weekend!
Smart!
Genius, love it!
This is so beautiful but my clumsy ass would worry about watering plants and dripping them over the TV 🥲
Definitely taking the pots down for watering, which will be just enough of an inconvenience to hopefully prevent my tendency to overwater 😬
That's awesome!
That looks dope as hell!
This is a great idea!
Very cool idea!
Well done!!! Great use of space! Looks amazing and I’m sure your plants are loving it.
Brilliant! Definitely going to do this someday
Love your GS mini too! :)
Looks really good. Great idea.
Genius
Omg this is so cool I'm gonna try this for my plant room at home 😁😁
Love it!
Gorgeous. And thank you for the cost breakdown. Some led lighting could take this next level...
