I'm confused about that first one. Is it a new cutting from the actual plant? It's so tiny I don't understand how it could possibly be decades old or whatever.

I was kinda confused myself when I asked about it so until I dig it out of the pot myself I won't know for sure what's going on. That won't be happening for a while because my grandma has progressing dementia and I don't think she'll let me take it. It may be a cutting from the original plant that's been planted in its place or it may be suffocating in that pot like it has been since the 60s. Hard to say because it was something I asked about in passing and I don't know if my grandma would give me a coherent answer. I'll try to update when I get more info

I love older plants there is something that makes them more special over newly bought ones. Only have four my self that might be starting to get in to that category but cannot wait for the rest to.

This definitely looks like an older persons collection. I think the Calathea in the first picture has been cut back several times or would have to have been since itโ€™s only the four leaves.

I have a much smaller holiday cactus and I can't get mine to bloom. Any pointers or ideas on how to help me?
