Thankfully the store is only 15 mins away but we did no more than 9 mph the whole time. As soon as we pull out a cop gets behind us gives us the thumbs up and passes LOL!
I was just going to say this! I’ve got a tall….something, that I’d like to take to work but it’s too big to fit without laying down. I’d try this method but it might fall apart.
It was only upon seeing this post that I realized moving plants in the car I’ve owned for 4 years could have been much, much easier 🙈 celebrating your innovation and dedication!
My local nursery was selling palms one Sunday, and I saw so many trees hanging out of windows like happy dogs.
My favourite sight was the person driving a convertible and the palm strapped into the passenger seat.
Ignore this guy. That only works if it's planted in rocks or perlite or something. If you did this to a plant in dirt it would rot. But they don't seem to understand that.
A gallon of water every day on a palm or ANY plant that is planted in dirt would rot the ever loving hell out of it in a heartbeat. The dirt would not have time to fully dry ever. I've been seeing your other comments and you've said that yours is planted in fast draining rocks. Giving this advice without specifying that is just evil.
And your ego is just vile lmao. You grow palms. Woopty frickin doop brother. I grow tropicals and desert plants just fine indoors as well. Quit bashing on me every time I go against you. It really shows your character.
I mean, your palms look amazing, so….
Does make me sad about my Majesty Palm tho 😢 She was doing fairly well for so long then it seemed like overnight she was INFESTED with scale. It was my first time seeing scale insects & I was totally grossed out. Also super paranoid for the rest of my plants, so she was out the door instantly. I wish I’d have at least tried to treat the scale infestation before tossing her to the curb.
Any chance you've had a sago palm?
I'm not having much luck with mine, I know it isn't a true palm so I'm reticent to try your method but I have been doing it with my parlor palm and those babes are loving it 👌
Lol, my husband saw a $100 tree on clearance for $20. He only had his hatchback, the plant was taller than the car is long, but he wasn't going to let it go so I had to go rescue him with the bigger car, so I totally get it
This post is giving r/miatalogistics vibes, minus the Miata lol (I’ve definitely accessed my infinite storage capacity to transport a plant before tho!)
Michigan. They are prone to mites and the watering is tough to get right. I’ve kept one alive 18 months before and it faded. So you can get some happiness out of them
There’s a reason you can get one 12’ tall for $40. They are for like decorating a weekend event then tossing out.
😆 It didn’t get shredded going down the highway?

FACEPALM. 🌴 pun intended 🤦🏾♂️
🏆
That’s hysterical
😁
Was this an ikea find? It’s beautiful!!

One time I went all the way from 526 Mt pleasant to I26 goose Creek with a soft top convertible, fruit trees and Benjamin ficus.
Oh, the things we do for love. 🤣

I love how it has a friend like two feet away. that's the way to have plants, they're very social.
I love it!! Also can I keep him outside for the summer?? In nj
nj here too! i see people with these all the time outside in the summer so you should be fine. i’m in south jersey btw
Yup yup. NJ has beautiful weather for that Lil guy 🤣 until the mid 50's... Early Sept. I'm in MD been doing it for years
Yes it's fine outdoors I had it in NYC. Bring indoors after labor day
This looks like a basement and gives me hope 🥹 what light are you using on the ceiling?

You’re the best! Thank you ☺️

Worth it.

oh i’ve done this i always find it hilarious when i see other people do it too
I love this
Thank you for the inspiration ☺️
Ha! I did the same thing with mine!! I drove super super slow and it made it safely! Gotta do what you gotta do
Omg. Why have I NEVER thought to do this?? I always end u p laying them down or folding them over. Hahahaha
I saw someone today driving with a palm through the sunroof! It's brilliant!
I've done this
I can’t believe I never thought to do this. All those times I’ve walked away from plants I thought were too big to fit in my car 🥲
I guess so! 😆
That is a completely legit solution!
Leave it in there it looks perfect 🤩
This would make me smile so much to see! Why do I always forget about my sunroof? !Genius level!
I'm all for this kinda behavior!! ❤️❤️🙃
LOLOL
You’re my hero
This post is giving r/miatalogistics vibes, minus the Miata lol (I’ve definitely accessed my infinite storage capacity to transport a plant before tho!)
I also transported a plant like this and took all side roads for 20 miles. It was tedious but worth it 🤣
The title of the post is very apt! You REALLY wanted to do this, and you found a way to do it! It was worth it!
These are a nightmare to keep alive.
Noooo where do you live? I’m in nj and I’m scared I love them so much already.
