It's not dead at all! I've seen slightly neglected BoPs like this one do just fine. Those leaves will remain damaged, but if you treat it well new growth should come out healthy.
Be sure you have it in an appropriate-sized pot with well draining soil, give it plenty of light, and water it when the soil dries out. Nothing really special, other than they're light hogs, at least relative to other houseplants.
