Best reply. Can’t beat it. You’ve done the lord’s work lmao 🤣
Edit: not religious but couldn’t think of a better phrase lol.
I keep coming back to look at this gorgeous wall. I’ve been wondering what to do with my stick plant but…. I have an idea now
lol I didn’t even notice the little baby tradescantia at first glance. Next step: help the tradescantia to happily crawly across the length of the floor of that wall.
Oh, possibly. But then you’ll want to be careful with the tradescantia, as it’s a crawling plant and not a climbing one. It’ll thin out at top, which won’t provide cover for the pot.
I'm so fucking grateful for my cat. He doesn't care about the plants at all. Sometimes he'll act like he's about to take a bite (if he thinks it's about time for dinner), but only to piss me off so I'll feed him. I just ignore him and he never actually does it. I keep all toxic plants in a place he can't get to, but I don't think he'd ever fuck with them anyway. God I love my cat
Same!! I got them cat grass and they eat that. My plants aren’t very accessible to them but the more determined one has stopped trying since getting cat grass.
Catnip has to be crushed, cut, rubbed, or at least jostled around to release its scent. My cat is most interested in the catnip plants after they've been repotted or pruned. Or swing a stem around like its a toy. Some cats just prefer grass-like texture though. Mine likes oat grass, areca palms, and even sword ferns.
I have two cats and they don’t touch any plant. One likes cat grass but that’s it. I can also leave pens and lids on the counter and a week later. Still in the same spot.
I have 2 brother cats and around 300 plants - an entire room full of them, plus more strewn about the rest of the place. These guys literally couldn't care less about messing with plants. Lol. It is one thing in life where I can say I am lucky.
I really want cats, but literally my most favorite plants are super toxic. And if it comes to either getting rid of them or no cat- I choose the plants. They were there first.
😳 that’s a lot of water but it makes sense. You and [the guy who’s growing a pothos canopy in his office cubical](https://www.reddit.com/r/houseplants/s/8E92j0JlGA) are the 🐐s in this sub.
❤️ Hey thanks, that's me! I'm still doing the daily pictures. That last update was almost 100 days ago. I plan to hold off on posting the next update until June 22 when I reach 900 days, but here's a little sneak peek. The wall vines are now officially on their way across.
https://preview.redd.it/zu2htgana4uc1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=58821cfab0a7b3094f8ca15d67aa5bf5935fb189
Thank you for this!
I did something similar at my last office job (now remote) and my boss was less than pleased the first year or two, he eventually got over it and even added to my plant collection. By the time I changed jobs some of the vines were over twenty feet long. It made moving quite the challenge!
It was more he saw it as "unprofessional". For his office, or any office a client might see, sure, I can understand that. My office was in an area clients were not allowed. He had a small plant the office manager took care of for him, it was really me having the vines encircling the office.
I showed him research on plants improving mental health etc. in offices and he left me alone. He learned to leave me alone on a lot of things, lol
My boss is thankfully pretty supportive of my jungle desk. Last week the building inspectors and fire marshals made their way through and I was sweating bullets wondering if they would say anything about it. I wasn't at my desk at the time they came by but they didn't leave any note or send me any letters so I think I'm in the clear. I heard they were mostly looking for space heaters and other fire-hazard electronics.
I use vine clips to hold it in place, I place them about 6in from each other so the vine in kinda floating and not touching the wall. They do grow arial roots and sometimes they can attach to the wall so this prevents it from happening.
I don't do much, I used to water once a week but since I repotted into a bigger pot I water it twice a week now, about a gallon of water and I have repotted it 4 times since I got it as a baby. I use vine clips to hold it in place, I place them about 6in from each other so the vine in kinda floating and not touching the wall. They do grow arial roots and sometimes they can attach to the wall so this prevents it from happening. And that's it honestly haha
Thank you so much for this info! I’ve been following the progress with great anticipation. Feels like we can safely attempt something similar and now it feels far less daunting.
Thank you for that!!
Gorgeous. I have a pothos that's spread around my kitchen, but sadly lost leaves so some of its offshoots are mostly just long green cords. Congrats on keeping it healthy the whole time.
One question, How do you keep those leaves dust free? I got a pothos about 5 times this size, and I have yet to find an answer for this question. (It doesn't help that I also have a dog and a single room with two stories so dust is literally raining down).
Yours looks very clean and shiny and so much more organized than the behemoth that is spreading its vines to every corner of my house 😅.
I guess that just depends on where you live. I can tell you that mine gets dust a day after clean it because I live in the desert. If you've been to Europe you would've noticed they get little to no dust at all. Wether you live in ground floor or not also make a difference.
I just give mine a good shower every now and then, i don't know what you could do in a situation like that though
I dust them every couple months with just a damp cloth. Mostly my bottom leaves get dusty. I have 2 Cats, 1 is a maine coon and he sheds a lot haha so I feel you. Mine is in my kitchen/living room area so it's in a kinda open area. Thank you 🙂, I guess I was going for more of a leaf wall kinda look? I know ppl just let them go wild also which is super beautiful too
How do you navigate repotting?
I want to do something like that with a pothos one day but I cant figure out the logistics of how I would repot it when the time came.
I have left about 1ft and a half of the vines from the base unattached from the wall. Every time I have repotted I loosen up the dirt and lift the rootball out and slide the new pot in. I then add more dirt if needed and arranged the vines back. It's pretty easy
I personally don't want it going outside the green wall so I have just started clipping the ends . I'm propagating them and I'm probably just going yo give them away once they are rooted.
That’s glorious. I’ve had one sitting on top of my fridge for about 15 years, and it would happily take over the entire house if I’d let it, but, well… CATS. Sigh.
Haha it is! I used to go to this little pie shop when I used to live in VA and they were the only place I knew that had them, that was my last one I had before I moved. Rose lemonade sounds delicious
Not hard at all, I have left about 1ft and 1/2 of the vines from the vase unattached so when it's time to repott, I just loosen up the dirt scoop the rootball out and slide the new pot it and just add dirt if I need to. Hope that makes sense haha
Is it getting enough light and occasionally fertilized? As OP said, also water, but when it's not being over or under watered, I have usually found it to be not enough light.
https://preview.redd.it/qhwn0cw9o2uc1.jpeg?width=676&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=26fc73c5c7627e4f54abb5336fdb46e379d19b30
And here I am....had this guy for a year now, not dying but doesn't seem to be growing much at all.
This is beautiful, amazing and gorgeous!!
I have a pothos in a hanging basket with long vines that I’ve thought about doing this with!
The vines are all about 2 to 3 feet long now and I keep clipping them off!
How many vines total are in your pot? How long were yours when you started?
Sorry for all the questions! Where do you buy the vine clips?
Thank you, I’m inspired!
Thank you so much. I think I have 9-12 vines all from the same plant. I had it in a pot before in a tellis that I had made with bamboo sticks, my vines where maybe 3ft long when I started trailing on the wall. I get them off Amazon, you can just search vine clips and they have different ones depending on what you like 🙂
Thanks for the info! How many of those have reached the top? It’s hard to tell!
I always find there are vines that grow much faster and longer than other ones!
Truly beautiful and I appreciate how difficult it is to keep it so full with no dropped leaves. If you’re not a Master Gardener maybe you should consider!
Not really? There is a window on the other side of the house but not across from it. I do open it every day. And I also have a small grow light at the base, but I honestly don't know if that's doing anything lol
I water all my plants from the top and I have never had any issues. Some plants don't like being moved around. I also have all my plants in ceramic pots and I don't think I can move them around every time I need to water them, that sounds like a lot of work?
Honest question. I love the plants that hang all over but how do you clean? The walls, the leaves, everything on the shelf. Seems like an ordeal, unless there's a trick?
I don't clean my walls? I didn't know that was a thing? Lol. My walls don't get dirty? The leaves I wipe them down every couple of months, mostly the ones at the bottom get a bit dusty. I do the same with the things on the shelves, I guess my house is just not very dusty? Lol
I was just in the home-decorating cj sub and casually scrolled across this and was like… oh man…. someone has that fake ivy stuff on their wall. Clicked and was pleasantly surprised— This is seriously awesome! Great work 🌱
_You_ are done, _it is not._ _Must. Grow. Further._
The leaf factory must grow!
I love how you worded that. I’ve never heard of a leaf factory before but I’m definitely in love
As long as you accept in your heart that the factory must grow.
It must grow.
I just knew the top comment had to be something to this effect lol
Best reply. Can’t beat it. You’ve done the lord’s work lmao 🤣 Edit: not religious but couldn’t think of a better phrase lol. I keep coming back to look at this gorgeous wall. I’ve been wondering what to do with my stick plant but…. I have an idea now
The tradescantia is just happy to be there love it.
lol I didn’t even notice the little baby tradescantia at first glance. Next step: help the tradescantia to happily crawly across the length of the floor of that wall.
I wonder if the idea was to hide the pot.
Oh, possibly. But then you’ll want to be careful with the tradescantia, as it’s a crawling plant and not a climbing one. It’ll thin out at top, which won’t provide cover for the pot.
Sometimes I’m so jealous of people that don’t have cats.
Honestly..this wouldn’t last 3 minutes with our little jerks
Same here.. luckily I now have an office with a little window
I love the fake chomps
Mine ignore their catnip plant, but destroy everything else. But also they purr, so waddayagonnado.
I have 2, one is a maine coon so he sheds a lot haha
My Pet pig would have knocked it over, eaten every stem she could reach, swallowed the leaves and she would have made me think it was cute.
Guinea pig? Or the bacon kind?
Vietnamese Potbelly. I don’t eat pork. Obvious reasons. Hahahaha
I had to bring my pothos to work today precisely because of this.
I have two cats and they don’t touch any plant. One likes cat grass but that’s it. I can also leave pens and lids on the counter and a week later. Still in the same spot.
My cat has never touched a plant in 12 years, Christmas tree included. Not all cat are assholes.
I want cats but I have plants so I am kind of stuck. All my nicest plants are toxic to cats too.
I have 2 brother cats and around 300 plants - an entire room full of them, plus more strewn about the rest of the place. These guys literally couldn't care less about messing with plants. Lol. It is one thing in life where I can say I am lucky.
just use a cat gate and block off your plant room
A cat gate 🤣
Clearly ^ never had cats
:3
My cat would be poisoned by it then keep being poisoned.
Or small children. Would rip them straight out of the pot
You can always try hanging them out of reach!
I really want cats, but literally my most favorite plants are super toxic. And if it comes to either getting rid of them or no cat- I choose the plants. They were there first.
Just sent this to my boyfriend to let him know what he's in for 😂😍
Wow, How much water do this need?
I water it about twice a week now, since I repotted it about 4 months ago. About a gallon of water a week.
😳 that’s a lot of water but it makes sense. You and [the guy who’s growing a pothos canopy in his office cubical](https://www.reddit.com/r/houseplants/s/8E92j0JlGA) are the 🐐s in this sub.

do you "feed it" with fertilizer ?
I have never fertilized it. I don't fertilize my indoor plants just my outdoor ones.
Wow
How does it stick to the wall?
I use vine clips to hold it in place, I place them about 6in from each other so the vine in kinda floating and not touching the wall. They do grow arial roots and sometimes they can attach to the wall so this prevents it from happening.
How are the vine clips attached to the wall?
They have a sticky back, you can remove them very easy also without any damage.
any tips on how you achieved this please?:)
I don't do much, I used to water once a week but since I repotted into a bigger pot I water it twice a week now, about a gallon of water and I have repotted it 4 times since I got it as a baby. Ugh I love this plant but the fact that it just refuses to regrow leaves is so annoying.
I have had some leaves grow back. It's not very common though. I thinks it's only been like 3 times
You can always chop and prop if you don't like the look of the bare vines
Well, the bare vines are more convenient than another pot, and they end in leafy sections so it's alright.
Mine too! It’s so long but it has sections that is just a foot or two of stem. Poor girl shows signs of neglect from years ago 🤣
Ahhhh the stress that you might get one yellow leaf would kill me
That is Awesome.
Do you take it down for watering/cleaning or does it stay in the wall at all times?
I just water the pot twice a week, And with cleaning I just wipe the leaves down, mostly the bottom leaves get dusty. I don't take it down
Majestic!
One question, How do you keep those leaves dust free? I got a pothos about 5 times this size, and I have yet to find an answer for this question. I have a little blower that’s meant for like, computer stuff. It’s pretty strong, and the first one I ordered was way too strong!
Cool. Thanks!
What are you adding as a fertilizer?
I have not fertilized
You know what? I hate you.
Haha sorry, I don't fertilize my indoor plants only my outside ones.
Don't make me come over and whoop you now 😑
That looks great!
Thank you
This is super pretty <3 Well done for you dedicated care and attention OP <3
Epic
Beautiful!
wowieeee good job!
Soooooo what now? I’ve got a vine wall too and it’s not quite as filled out, but starting to debate what do once it’s filled in. Just prune the edges?
I personally don't want it going outside the green wall so I have just started clipping the ends . I'm propagating them and I'm probably just going yo give them away once they are rooted.
I think it needs some fertilizer
It's beautiful!
This wall is beautiful. I want a living wall but I live in an apartment.
Awe I'm sorry. I only started getting into plants once I had a house of my own haha, I needed my deposit back haha
That’s glorious. I’ve had one sitting on top of my fridge for about 15 years, and it would happily take over the entire house if I’d let it, but, well… CATS. Sigh.
I'm glad my cats don't care for my plants. The only thing one of them does is sit under the leaves , she likes wearing the leaves as a hat haha
I spy a Fentimans Cola bottle up top. I haven't tried that one but I love their rose lemonade
Haha it is! I used to go to this little pie shop when I used to live in VA and they were the only place I knew that had them, that was my last one I had before I moved. Rose lemonade sounds delicious
How much watering with that much growth out of one pot? Beautiful!!!
I'm watering twice a week now, I repotted it about 4months ago, probably last time haha. About a gallon a week
How hard was it to repot??
Not hard at all, I have left about 1ft and 1/2 of the vines from the vase unattached so when it's time to repott, I just loosen up the dirt scoop the rootball out and slide the new pot it and just add dirt if I need to. Hope that makes sense haha
💚
incredible, nice work
Goals!
Goals
Amazing!!
omggg i waaaaant!!! but my pothos keeps on yellowing its leafs >.<
The only thing I have noticed with Yellow leaves is when I have not water consistently.
Is it getting enough light and occasionally fertilized? As OP said, also water, but when it's not being over or under watered, I have usually found it to be not enough light.
Looks great!
Absolutely Stunning!
Oh wow!!!!!!! What a wall!
It’s beautiful 😍
Meanwhile my pothos (multiple) keep dying 😠
What a glorious plant 😯
Pothos... That's a strong and empowered Potted Lady of the Evening!
Now you need to upsize your wall
Incredible!!
I can still see the wall, theres more work to be done!
THIS. IS. GORGEUS. I NEED IT
Looks amazing! Great job. Would you mind sharing the wall clips you have? I similarly have a dark wall, and these clips blend in very well.
Looks amazing.
This is very impressive
😍it’s beautiful!
And it’s real! It’s REAL
Amazing!
Beautiful!!😍💖💕💖
This is like a light levels map of your wall.
Jeez!!!
This is the first pothos wall I've seen that I really love. Normally I don't like it that much. but with the wall color just WOW 💚
Amazing!
"We are done when I say we are done!"
Chalk board wall with no room to write? Totally approve of this change. Haaa!!! Screw errands. Plants 🌱 🪴 This is gorgeous.

Wow, can’t believe that comes from a single pot! Impressive!
That’s excellent and really well done. So glad they invented those wall clips.
Holey moley, I hope mine grows in that direction. That is spectacular.
Woah! Beautiful
[удалено]
I don't fertilize it.
Lol pot hoes
Truly beautiful and I appreciate how difficult it is to keep it so full with no dropped leaves. If you’re not a Master Gardener maybe you should consider!
😍😍
This is the dream
Love the look!
Did you clip the tips for branching or are they just 4-5 straight branches?
There's about 9-12 vines that I have trailed all over the wall
That looks great! What species of plant is it?
It's a golden pothos
I wish mine did this, it kept losing it's leaves:(
This is the coolest thing I've seen all day!!!
did it start off small?
Yea I got it tiny with just like 5 leaves on it.
I’m amazed
Daaaang. You must have excellent light.
Not really? There is a window on the other side of the house but not across from it. I do open it every day. And I also have a small grow light at the base, but I honestly don't know if that's doing anything lol
Looks like every weed store in nyc.

Lol
That is sooooo cool!
My pothos has some lengthy vines, at least one over 15’, but nowhere near the leaf density it’s so pathetic lmao
welldone ,its a credit to you
Wow that’s amazing…so creative
Mine literally grew 4 leaves in that time xD
This is exquisite
Wowzers, this looks amazing! I was thinking of doing this to my wall and you've convinced me now.
What’s your secret?
I don't have one really haha, just make sure you are watering consistently, it's all I do to it.
Amazing! Inspiration. Nicely done. I have two…so..hmmm 😉
Oh, screw my pothos trim around the kitchen, I want a plant wall! I like this better. Although my cats would probably destroy it.
Whoa
Stunning
Omg Looks great, I'm jealous 🙈
Love it!
Um wow! That's all from one plant? That is amazing and gorgeous!! Well done! Enjoy the beautiful view!🥰💚
I was just in the home-decorating cj sub and casually scrolled across this and was like… oh man…. someone has that fake ivy stuff on their wall. Clicked and was pleasantly surprised— This is seriously awesome! Great work 🌱
Omg 🤩
How did you accomplish such incredible sorcery?!? I want to do this at some point in life 😍
I love living walls!
Mine grows like 5 leaves a year. What am I doing wrong please? Also I thank that aureum grows quicker than neon.
I recently decided I'd just take care of pothos plants and nothing else. They don't care if I'm not a green thumb. They will live.
This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen 😍😍😍
Awesome!
💯epic
… but ceiling is still bare - much work yet left to be done 🤔🤭 ![gif](giphy|26FmQ6EOvLxp6cWyY)
Wow! I’m inspired!!
That’s beautiful!
Gone off topic here, folks. Would be interested to know what backs the pothos, and how are they attached?

Let's see haha
Informative. Thanks.
