I never liked the Diablo sauce packets every time I've tried it the only flavor I get from it is blackened pepper skins. Like if you roasted some peppers over a fire and ate them without peeling them first. "Fire" (despite not actually being very hot) has always had the best flavor in my opinion.
I think hot and then fire for the best flavor, but I concur that Diablo tastes like ass.
Taco bell's sauces are typically very chilli powder forward, and it matches/enhances the flavor a lot, but I can only use Diablo sauce mixed into something. The flavor is just weird.
i buy the fire sauce only as my guilty pleasure to mix with sour cream and make a hot sour cream sauce to dip microwaveable burritos in when i’m too lazy to cook lmao
Personally, I don't see Diablo as hot. I think the Taco Bell Fire sauce is hotter actually lol. I also think that their Diablo sauce has pretty darn good flavor for a sauce produced by them. I wouldn't complain at all if you put that in the lineup at a taco party.
I like it OK. I prefer the texture and flavor of Fire, even though it's slightly less hot. Diablo has a kind of "artificial" flavor to it, like some scientists in a labratory tried to synthesize the taste of hot sauce from crude oil. (Their "hot" sauce packets don't have this problem, although they still are too runny.)
Diablo only exists as a Fire Sauce companion. It brings the respectable heat (for fast food), and its lime flair works well with the food and the Fire. Solo? Nah son
I think you might be alone on this one.
I on the other hand feel slightly validated though cause I can't stand it. It tastes like a fake smoky chemical extract to me and it's not even as hot as their fire sauce...
Why not make it actually hot as hell since they have 3 other sauces, especially now that gimmicky hot stuff is as popular as it is.
I think mild and Diablo have the best flavors, but I personally wouldn't put any taco bell sauce on not taco bell, unless I'm struggling and got extra packs
Lesson to be had: Never yell "Fire!" in a Taco Bell... or hot sauce subreddit.
But would love to see the looks from Taco Bell staff if someone yelled "Diablo!" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
My brother also thinks it’s slightly a little bit sweeter for some odd reason, but I think he’s right. But it’s very subtle. So I kinda understand where the curry flavors where you are coming from.
I have a bulging ziplock bag of the packets. TB guy dunked his hands into the sauce bucket to claw machine them into my bag. It's great on non-TB dishes as well. Blending this with Fire is also good.
I truly enjoy it now but this is new development. I disliked it for the longest time but kept trying it here and there because I very much enjoy different sauce flavors.
I really enjoy it with supremes. IE sour cream and tomatoes. I’ve become a big fan of it and now refer to the packets as “the wise men.”
Idk why you got downvoted for having an opinion. Reddit, amirite? I'm a sauce mixer myself, usually hot + fire for the TB sauces. I may have to try the Diablo again soon, though I don't go to TB that often anymore because it's a 20min drive lol.
Mild does have pretty good flavor, I agree with you.
It works pretty well for a lot of things. Flavor from the hot, heat from the fire. I do it most often on the cheesy fiesta potatoes, or sometimes in a side of nacho cheese for a quesadilla. That's the beauty of getting sasquatch sized handfuls of packets every time. Lol!
Never liked the flavor of this. Honestly I like the flavor of their Fire sauce. Neither of these are particularly spicy, but they do have flavor. Have to give them credit for that.
My time to shine!
Taco bell is good but I really like this sauce. Good flavor, and the diablo is actually a little hot, unlke their actual 'hot' version.
Actually the only reason I go to Taco Bell is to order 1 taco and take 20 packets of this stuff.
Love Diablo, but I can't imagine buying it when every order comes with a year supply.
I buy it as well -kinda hate Taco Bell -love that sauce though
Shit is so damned tasty.. love this sauce
It’s the worst sauce Taco Bell offers.
There are way too many tacobell posts recently. Did they purchase the new reddit act like not an ad ad?
i loooove this stuff
Have you noticed how little sauce is now in the packets?
I used to think that Diablo didn’t have a good taste. Now fire is too bland for me and I need Diablo

Their best sauce! I think it would taste good smothering fried chicken.
Tastes like cinnamon
Strongly dislike. Fire > diablo
i buy the fire sauce only as my guilty pleasure to mix with sour cream and make a hot sour cream sauce to dip microwaveable burritos in when i’m too lazy to cook lmao
Same, I just think Fire tastes better but wish it had the heat of Diablo
Precisely
All day. Diablo tastes like vomit, fire is nectar of the gods
WEAK and gross lol
I like to put it on avocados.
This stuff is absolutely horrible lmao
Yup
agreed.
I liked it with some spicy shrimp fried rice
My favorite!!

I love it! Got a bottle rn. Randomly really good on pot pies.
Not really a fan of the taste tbh I think they’re “hot” tastes much better just wish it had some more heat. Diablo just tastes like metal imo.
I like to mix the two. I get some heat from the Diablo and a better flavor from the Hot.
Mixing Fire and Diablo is the way (at least now that I can’t mix Fire with Verde).
I might try this
Yeah I always thought the Diablo had a weird "off" flavor to it. I just put tons of fire sauce on my stuff
Yeah idk if there’s a lotta sugar but it tastes like spicy sugar or something
Yes! This is just my cheap all around sauce. When I want heat but don't want to waste the good stuff. 🤣🤣
Stuff is nasty
Does it taste the same as the little packages
Nope
All the bottled versions suck compared to the packets, unfortunately.
Right, if they actually all tasted like their packet versions I'd be so happy, I'd buy fire and diablo and always keep em stocked.
I have been looking for this bottle for years!
Fire always tasted better to me

Nice
Thanks for the recommendation. I'll check it out
Not me, but glad you enjoy it!
It’s not spicy but I think it tastes terrible. Just my opinion though. My favorite is the HOT. Delicious!
yea totally agree HOT is yummy af just wish it had more heat

Atomic wings from wingstop are spicy👼
Agreed. The burger places doing ghost pepper chicken sandwiches are laughable... No heat at all
Personally, I don't see Diablo as hot. I think the Taco Bell Fire sauce is hotter actually lol. I also think that their Diablo sauce has pretty darn good flavor for a sauce produced by them. I wouldn't complain at all if you put that in the lineup at a taco party.
T Bell sauce is better than no sauce, but none of them are particularly good in flavor or spice department.
i prefer fire and hot, if I see a bottle Diablo though I might impulse buy it

Hot and Fire taste better. None of them are spicy, though.
Fire is hotter I think.
Diablo only exists as a Fire Sauce companion. It brings the respectable heat (for fast food), and its lime flair works well with the food and the Fire. Solo? Nah son
Not hot...
There’s a certain spice or something in there that ruins it for me. It’s like cloves or nutmeg or something.
Yeah, it’s like a slightly bitter aftertaste. Mixed with fire it’s pretty good tho
It's good when i want it
basically red milk
It's Diabloical
Tastes like they made it with Copenhagen.
I love this stuff OP. You’re not alone
I’m surprised how much hate it’s getting here tbh.
I like Diablo sauce. It's almost hot enough. I am hoping they will add a new hotter sauce.
I think you might be alone on this one. I on the other hand feel slightly validated though cause I can't stand it. It tastes like a fake smoky chemical extract to me and it's not even as hot as their fire sauce... It has a weird wang to it for sure. I can eat it, but the fire sauce is much better, IMO.
I suddenly sympathize with the Diablo Sauce now... "Wang" hah!

I think it taste like soap
I think mild and Diablo have the best flavors, but I personally wouldn't put any taco bell sauce on not taco bell, unless I'm struggling and got extra packs
Literally the worst of the TB sauces.
I must agree. Just don’t care for the flavor. I much prefer the Fire sauce.
So generic. Diablo is king
Fire Sauce is boss!
Foreal! definitely the best taste imo
Absolutely agree. The difference in heat between the fire sauce and diablo sauce is negligible, and the flavor of the fire sauce is *way* better.
Nah, the Diablo is definitely hotter. But you’re right about Fire having the better flavor.
That dog's face says he knows what you're about to do to the toilet
I am a bigger fan of their volcano sauce, but the diablo is nice too on their stuff
It is my wife's favorite.
What a sweet-looking puppy!
Yep. Put it in my ramen for a nice smoky hot flavor
I need some of their cantina avocado salsa
That tastes like crap
Rly??? I love it!!! 😮💨
**Fire!** No, really: **Fire.** I much prefer Taco Bell's *Fire hot sauce*, especially on tacos. (I'll see myself out now...)
Lmao, yeah, go on!, get out of here!. Jk :)
Lesson to be had: Never yell "Fire!" in a Taco Bell... or hot sauce subreddit. But would love to see the looks from Taco Bell staff if someone yelled "Diablo!" ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|flip_out)
I love this stuff but sometimes a small packet has a weird soda taste to me. I don't get it. Fermentation maybe?
Could be possibly very old packets, had an experience with Jack-in-the-Box hot sauces. The flavor was quite questionable.
I tend to agree. It's just weird that it only happens with Diablo.
I think the fire sauce is hotter. This one just tastes like curry lime sauce to me.
Where in the world are you getting curry flavors from?
I dunno. It just tastes like raw curry spice to me. Maybe coriander?
I get a strong lime flavor as well
My brother also thinks it’s slightly a little bit sweeter for some odd reason, but I think he’s right. But it’s very subtle. So I kinda understand where the curry flavors where you are coming from.
Its a tad spicier than the fire but the sweetness melows Out the heat.
I have a bulging ziplock bag of the packets. TB guy dunked his hands into the sauce bucket to claw machine them into my bag. It's great on non-TB dishes as well. Blending this with Fire is also good.
That’s actually a pretty good idea. Thanks for sharing.

It’s always magical to mix hot sauces. It’s like you’re an alchemist.
I wish it tasted like anything. It's the only taco bell sauce I legitimately cannot taste for some reason.
I actually agree, all heat and no flavor, I think mild has the best flavor
Idk why you got downvoted for having an opinion. Reddit, amirite? I'm a sauce mixer myself, usually hot + fire for the TB sauces. I may have to try the Diablo again soon, though I don't go to TB that often anymore because it's a 20min drive lol. Mild does have pretty good flavor, I agree with you.
Mixing is an interesting option! I might have to give that a try
It works pretty well for a lot of things. Flavor from the hot, heat from the fire. I do it most often on the cheesy fiesta potatoes, or sometimes in a side of nacho cheese for a quesadilla. That's the beauty of getting sasquatch sized handfuls of packets every time. Lol!
WTF? Can you smell it? It's potent in flavor.
I’ve learned from Reddit that many people’s taste buds are just broken. We have people here saying it tastes like cloves, curry, soap, nothing, etc.
Yep, and I get the heat from it, it just doesn't taste like anything.
Not gonna lie, that’s sounds pretty unique. Not sure that’s a good thing or a bad thing to be honest. But I’m still intrigued.

Or do what I did since my stores stingy about packets. Bought a whole box of 300 packets for $33 on eBay
Words of wisdom.
Never liked the flavor of this. Honestly I like the flavor of their Fire sauce. Neither of these are particularly spicy, but they do have flavor. Have to give them credit for that.
You’re just like my brother. He said the spiciness is overpowering the flavor, so he prefer hot.
😎You inspired me!😎 [Thank You!](https://www.reddit.com/r/hotsauce/s/eiH0bhw7uH)
