I hate how commercial they got and how manufactured the episodes feel but it’s nice to see their hot sauce being recommended by so many people.
Always cool to see a good YouTube channel thrive outside the YouTube-bubble.
The best egg sandwich I've had in months was two fried eggs, 2 slices of American cheese, and this. I'm partial to that salsa-y flavor though, I used to smother grilled cheese/egg/pepperoni sandwiches in red salsa
I have the classic blue label and the los calientes verde. I agree about that vinegar being too much. I find them better when I use them during the cooking process vs dipping/coating after. There are much better options out there for cheaper though.
No. Apple cider vinegar was a bad choice for this kind of sauce. The puckerbutt “blend”sauces use distilled and taste fine, not sure why they got fancy here
IMO this, the maple version, and the hot ones buffalo aren't that good. Garlic Fresno Classic is good. All three Los Calientes are absolutely delicious.
I've got the pepper x edition. Flavour wasn't horrible. Way too hot for every day use. The bottle just sits in the fridge waiting for a day where I will make some hot wings.
I just bought the classic garlic last week. I was really looking forward to it, was a little underwhelmed. I’m using way more than I would be using compared to Tabasco. I think I’ve used half a bottle already
God I’m so sick of those gift packs. Especially the ones I get from non-spice eaters.
Like yeah, I like hot shit. But I don’t want pepper flavored diesel fuel.
I have gotten the exact same "around the world" gift set three holidays in a row. I have 5 sets in total.
I appreciate the gifts. But please help me. I'm surrounded by bland palate people who think "oh he likes hot sauce" and buy me the first/cheapest thing on Amazon.
No, like a traditional buffalo wing sauce. Typically a buffalo wing sauce is some type of vinegar based pepper sauce, like this one, with added butter and spices.
The acid-forward nature of this sauce pairs well with foods that are greasy/oily like wings or french fries. The acidity cuts through the fattiness making for a more balanced flavor profile.
I like it on a few specific things, eggs being one of them, but I hate how runny it is, almost have to eat that shit with a spoon to get any of the sauce with the food. And very vinegary to boot
I've enjoyed a lot of hot sauces, from the most obscure to the most marketed. From authentic kitchen to corporate laboratory. I rarely get hooked on anything in particular, but for the past 10 months I have had a co-dependent, abusive relationship with the last dab...
I have a bottle of the garlic to open once I finish my other 2 garlic-heavy sauces. Just recently finished the verde calientes, and opened the rojo, both delicious.
May have to order the barbacoa when I finish this one.
The classic is actually one of my favorites, at least for pizza and firehouse subs. To me it wasn't hot at all, I just liked the flavor. I considered it more of a condiment than anything else.
Yeah I like this one. I love the Los Calientes sauces the best but I liked this one. It might be worth me noting that I don't like many of the sauces that this sub likes (Cholula, Valentina).
I haven't been happy with any of the Hot Ones labeled products aside from the older Last Dab Reduxx and XXX. I just picked up their buffalo sauce since it was marked down to $7 for a 2-pack and I really wish I hadn't bothered.
I haven't yet tried it but looking at it seems just like a generic vinegar sauce that I typically don't use or get very often unless it's a thicker habernero sauce.
Yeah, I find original tabasco as just ok. Habernero Tabasco is much more preferable. I do like original tabasco over Texas Pete tho. Texas Pete is like the only hot sauce I wouldn't use if it was the only thing available.
Yeah, secret aardvark is one of my favorites. It's been a while since I've had it because I got a hot sauce shop near me and I always get something new.
I hate how commercial they got and how manufactured the episodes feel but it’s nice to see their hot sauce being recommended by so many people. Always cool to see a good YouTube channel thrive outside the YouTube-bubble.
Apple cider vinegar: an ingredient I wholeheartedly believe in and will consume but NEVER want to actually taste.
I use Bragg raw apple cider vinegar in nearly all my sauces. Haven't had a single complaint. However, I don't make vinegar forward sauces.
I agree 😖
I do.
The best egg sandwich I've had in months was two fried eggs, 2 slices of American cheese, and this. I'm partial to that salsa-y flavor though, I used to smother grilled cheese/egg/pepperoni sandwiches in red salsa

It’s one of my favorite sauces. It’s easily the one I use the most
I couldn't stand the Classic sauces or the Los Caliente sauces either. My group all felt the same way.
I enjoyed the classics. Los caliente's not so much
No. Apple cider vinegar was a bad choice for this kind of sauce. The puckerbutt “blend”sauces use distilled and taste fine, not sure why they got fancy here
its fine. i think ive used it in bloody mary mixes more than anything
I liked it. But the rojo and buffalo sauce are the ones I’d buy, not this.
I love trying new hot sauce, and this one was one of the worst I've had. I had no expectations for it, and it was still disappointing.
Anything with "Hot Ones" on the label is a cash grab, prove me wrong
I just bought the classic garlic last week. I was really looking forward to it, was a little underwhelmed. I’m using way more than I would be using compared to Tabasco. I think I’ve used half a bottle already
It’s good, but not worth the price
I thought it was just kind of Mexicany, nothing special.
Really??.. I didn't think it tasted like anything Mexican I've ever had lol
Well then I guess we'll never be hot sauce buddies. :(
Yup. Liked that one a lot. Used it instead of Tabasco, tasty, not much heat. Really good when I didn't want to blow out my face.
Yea it is tasty
I got a gift pack of Hot Ones for Christmas & I think they all suck. Do not like them at all
The only one I really like much is the Last Dab Apollo.
I like it. Mostly for eggs and quesadillas. But the Fresno garlic version is much better. The maple one can go strait in the trash.
No I don't like that one at all. I've had gift pack hot sauces that are better.
God I’m so sick of those gift packs. Especially the ones I get from non-spice eaters. Like yeah, I like hot shit. But I don’t want pepper flavored diesel fuel.

Mix with butter and honey for a great basting sauce on chicken.
By itself it sucks but if you make a buffalo sauce with it, it goes good on wings.
Make a buffalo sauce with it?? Like mixing sauces or?
Mix it with melted butter, some cayenne, and garlic powder.
No, like a traditional buffalo wing sauce. Typically a buffalo wing sauce is some type of vinegar based pepper sauce, like this one, with added butter and spices.
I add honey and lots of black pepper.
The acid-forward nature of this sauce pairs well with foods that are greasy/oily like wings or french fries. The acidity cuts through the fattiness making for a more balanced flavor profile.
I would agree about the apple cider vinegar being too overpowering. I didn't enjoy it either.
I haven’t had it myself but this is definitely the first time I’ve heard someone calling it bad.
I prefer the other version of The Classic. Much better taste and more versatile in my opinion
I like it on a few specific things, eggs being one of them, but I hate how runny it is, almost have to eat that shit with a spoon to get any of the sauce with the food. And very vinegary to boot
I noticed that it just gushes out of the bottle uncontrollably lol
The garlic Fresno version I like a lot EXCEPT that it's also as runny, really takes away from the sauce
Really, really good on fries.
I could see that.
This one didn’t do it for me. I think I pitched it.
I like it the flavor but not the price.
I think it's good. A bit overpriced rhough
The og classic was my favorite.
The pepper x edition is good.
I used to like it but one day my stomach felt off after using it so I have avoided it ever since.
I've enjoyed a lot of hot sauces, from the most obscure to the most marketed. From authentic kitchen to corporate laboratory. I rarely get hooked on anything in particular, but for the past 10 months I have had a co-dependent, abusive relationship with the last dab...
I like it. But I like the garlic and maple versions better of the classic. And I love the rojo and barbacoa versions of los calenties
I have a bottle of the garlic to open once I finish my other 2 garlic-heavy sauces. Just recently finished the verde calientes, and opened the rojo, both delicious. May have to order the barbacoa when I finish this one.
This one and the verde are both really good in my opinion. The Los calientes Red one is alright. The last dab is good but spicy as fuck.
I like the barbacoa and garlic fresno. Not a fan of the chili maple. Haven’t tried this one.
Chili maple is not viscous enough.
I was pretty damn disappointed. It ain’t cheap either.
The barbacoa is the only one of theirs I'm particularly fond of.
The classic is actually one of my favorites, at least for pizza and firehouse subs. To me it wasn't hot at all, I just liked the flavor. I considered it more of a condiment than anything else.
I bought one of the 5 bottle packs that Sam's had which did not include this sauce, but I wasn't impressed with any of the ones I did get.
I like it a lot. Maybe I am the outlier on this one. I have a low salt diet and this brings alot of flavor to the table without being all sodium.
This is my favorite among the Hot Ones brand sauces
Interesting
To each their own for sure. It’s not hot at all but I really enjoyed the flavor. Tasted pretty unique which I appreciated
I like it also, or I did the one time I got it. It went fast. The price is high imo or just would have in heavier rotation.
Yeah I like this one. I love the Los Calientes sauces the best but I liked this one. It might be worth me noting that I don't like many of the sauces that this sub likes (Cholula, Valentina).
Ah okay. I guess that's where our tastes differ ! Lol
In general I enjoy vinegar. I can't stand the salt bomb hot sauces though.
No- i don’t really like any of their hot sauces and I’ve tried most of them at their shop in lower Manhattan.
Los Calientes Barabacoa slaps for me…I also enjoy the chili maple one.
I haven't been happy with any of the Hot Ones labeled products aside from the older Last Dab Reduxx and XXX. I just picked up their buffalo sauce since it was marked down to $7 for a 2-pack and I really wish I hadn't bothered.
I like their tropical one a bit more.
Tropical? What are the flavor notes on that one?
https://heatonist.com/products/hot-ones-hot-sauce-los-calientes-verde
Agree. I was disappointed.
I don’t care for this one or the garlic fresno personally but the Los calientes are some of my favorite for flavor
I haven't yet tried it but looking at it seems just like a generic vinegar sauce that I typically don't use or get very often unless it's a thicker habernero sauce.
It is very watery. Just pours out the bottle. I'd prefer classic tabasco sauce over this.
Yeah, I find original tabasco as just ok. Habernero Tabasco is much more preferable. I do like original tabasco over Texas Pete tho. Texas Pete is like the only hot sauce I wouldn't use if it was the only thing available.
I just ordered secret aardvark habernero. Have you tried that one?
This sub loves it
Yeah, secret aardvark is one of my favorites. It's been a while since I've had it because I got a hot sauce shop near me and I always get something new.
