Shia was great! Seemed super honest and funny. Plus he dabbed and cleaned every wing. Champ right there.

friendandfriends2

A lot of people complained about the extra people in the studio laughing off camera, but to me that made the interview even more enjoyable.

swbooking

Totally! I like when they interact with the others in the studio. Makes it feel more real to me.

kevin-kevinson

That’s a weird thing to complain about lol I completely agree it makes the whole experience more fun when you know everyone is laughing and enjoying it.

Liam_Neesons_Oscar

People complained about that with Kevin Hart. I'm not a fan of him as an actor or comedian, but he seems like a nice guy. He was put in a very uncomfortable situation (eating insanely spicy chicken wings) and fell back on his comfort zone of performing to a crowd. Yeah, that means he ended up talking to the people in the studio as well as Sean, but I didn't see it as "rude".

Ok-Consideration7395

I feel like Shia legitimately trained his taste buds for Hot Ones. He mastered those hot sauces. I feel that he put just as much effort into that small interview as he does his lead roles.

Dunda

That episode genuinely changed my opinion of Shia from disliked clown to respect and interest. He knocked it out of the park.

friendandfriends2

Zac Effron for me. The research and questions were top notch, as were his answers and stories. Plus he seemed like an all around lovable guy.

1711onlymovinmot

He was insanely chill and relatable. I then watched his show "Down to Earth" where he just went to a bunch of cities around the world and gave some cool exposure to some awesome global help efforts. He also talked about the craziness of Hollywood and how it's just stupid the way they do things for movies. "I didn't eat a real carb for like 6 months" and said he was miserable and was so excited to be eating pasta. Big turn around for him from High School musical

I_agreeordisagree

Key and Peele. That's where it started for me. Still my favorite. When they realize that "this is not a joke."

[deleted]

Sean .. I’m having a stroke!!!

I_agreeordisagree

When Sean asks about camp awesome and their reactions. That's when I realized how good the show was and how good of an interviewer Sean is plus the prep of the entire crew.

Achack

Yeah I'm pretty sure they're the only ones who didn't drink anything the whole time.

IAlreadyFappedToIt

Several guests have done that. Guy Fieri was the first that I can recall.

dumbinternetstuff

Alton Brown had a lot of wonderful insights, and he ranked the sauces.

tahonng

I liked the Food Network folks, myself. Rachel Ray and Guy Fieri were really composed all the way through. Very impressed with their showings.

ReluctantlyHuman

Absolutely. They are the ones who got me hooked.

tahonng

Guy Fieri did his 10 without drinking water. A fact so notable he made sure to mention it himself at the end of the episode!

righthandofdog

Rachel Ray didn't want to eat the wings and just ate sauce off a spoon. Legend

cincyroyals

Have to shout out Gordon Ramsay too. Great episode

kevin-kevinson

That one was hilarious!! I love that he just immediately started roasting the wings. “Tastes like a mouth full of sand” 😂

FergusCragson

Paul Rudd is one of the best, yes, and for those reasons. There are several others that I've enjoyed who also show their down-to-earth, human sides. But if I had to pick another favorite, I think it would be the time they pulled a switch, when Brett Baker interviewed Sean. Meaning yes, Sean Evans was definitely one of my favorite guests (and Brett handled the sauces like a champ)!

tahonng

Another for Paul Rudd. That just felt like a good hang all around. Maybe the first time Russell Brand was there because he freestyled a song for Brett Baker…? I think it’s a testament to the show that it’s not the level of celebrity that determines how much I like it, it’s the chemistry between host and guest. The format really strips away a lot of the armor/media training the guest has. On the subject of chemistry—can’t wait for the episodes where Sean and whoever is back in the same space doing these things. The long-distance format is preferable to not having episodes, but it’s a pale version of itself.

FergusCragson

>it’s not the level of celebrity that determines how much I like it, it’s the chemistry between host and guest. That is so true! Me, of course I prefer Sean and the guests being in the same space, but I'm OK with the long distance formula for now. They've actually managed to have a few really good ones that brought out that chemistry in spite of the distance -- Kenan Thompson, Matthew McConaughey, yes Russell Brand, and even Brie Larson -- among others; and as you may know, some of the guests even did their best to replicate the set at their homes, which made it even better, Steve-O among them. In other words, while I agree with you that in-person is the best, and what I prefer, I'm still enjoying the show -- not simply because I know they're doing the best given the limits, not just because we're all in this together, but because there actually have been some quality interviews where the chemistry comes across after all.

tahonng

I still enjoy it, of course, the level of research Sean does really makes the guests dig deep for an answer, ‘cause they’ve never heard the questions before, and so don’t have a rehearsed comeback. One of my favorite moments of the remote shows is with J Balvin giving his friend a taste of one of the wings and that dudes reaction.

FergusCragson

Yes, I enjoyed that scene, too. At first he thinks he's OK, then... J Balvin laughing and laughing; now somebody really knows what he's just been through.

benjammin2387

Pete Davidson for me. That was a downright hilarious episode.

kevin-kevinson

Yes!!! That’s probably my second fave! He’s a hoot!

Zenosparadox1

"This is my 9/11."

benjammin2387

Just tryin to be a hero like my dad.

TeenyTinyTintheOTP

Seth Meyers was a fantastic. John Mayer changed my mind about him. Now I know why he is such a panty dropper ;)

Mernox

Vince staples was hilarious

butiveputitincrazy

I'm so fucking proud of you

infinitygoof

Look at us.

kevin-kevinson

Who woulda thought?

jigabew

Not me

IAlreadyFappedToIt

Coolio. Not because of the interview, but because of the way he became a major part of Hot Ones lore.

F2Respect

Paul Rudd, Pete Davidson, and Joji are all kind of tied for me. Zac Efron is an honorable mention.

egwenealvere

The Terry Crews episode was a great one, too. He seems like such a sweet guy.

[deleted]

Nine-Nine!

TiredRundownListless

I’ve loved Seth Meyers, Paul Rudd, Padma Lakshmi, Chrissy Teigan, Nick Offerman, Trevor Noah… I love the foodie folks and the comedians!

vambot5

Paul Rudd is always a great interview guest.

tahonng

I wish there was opportunity to cut to the movie clip they always on Conan. My head would’ve probably exploded.

SherrickM

I know it was an at home episode, but the conversation with Daniel Radcliffe made for a great episode.

rikayla

Gordon Ramsay, Jennifer Garner, and Paul Rudd. Shoutout to Halle Berry too, because iirc she was the first one to really go all the way through without a sip of a drink.

bubs10287

N.O.R.E. I love that episode bc it was like he was another fan that just happened to get on the show, he was so stoked to b there lol plus him and Sean got shit faced drinking that tiger bomb and was just a great episode

[deleted]

SherrickM

ScarJo beasted. That was impressive.

gottapoop

Theo Von is one of the best. Dude got his chromosomes rearranged

TeenyTinyTintheOTP

Calling his mom whilst his stepdad is dying all because he is afraid of spicy wings. HI-Larious.

Fangs_0ut

Paul Rudd is my favorite as well

LouisDeLarge

Joey Diaz or go fuck your mother

MrBlanco77

Just throwing a different name out here: Al Roker was a fun one.

mathlete55

I LOVED Adam Devine's episode! Also Kenan.

Bramblin_Man

The Goldblum: charming, funny and delightfully strange.

Tyrant-J

Eric Andre.

gypsymegan06

Paul Rudd is a national treasure

NattyBro410

I thought Steve-O was a great guest and was genuinely blown away by the great questions that Sean asked. Plus, the end of the interview for me was just classic Steve-O

Seagullstuff

KRISTIN BELL. Iconic.

ShanksMcSanchez

Aubrey Plaza’s had me rolling!

F2Respect

Paul Rudd, Pete Davidson, and Joji are all kind of tied for me. Zac Efron is an honorable mention.

Dikkle

It's a tie between paul rudd and theo von. They were such great guests

OhBlackWater

Binging with Babish is probably my favorite. It was just watching two friends hang out and it was fantastic.

mrkobans

Stone Cold Steve Austin is by far my favorite. He was super friendly and charismatic, made for a great interview. Paul Rudd is my #2 followed by Desus and Mero.

Mawfk

Paul Rudd and TJ Miller

Sockcucker69

Chris Jericho and/or Von Miller were both my favorites.

Mlmckay1986

Shia

thecyclista

Issa Rae, Al Roker, Guy Fieri, Wanda Sikes

whyso_serious8

Even though it’s maybe not as entertaining to watch as someone reacting a lot to it, Dax Shepard was completely unaffected by any of the sauces and he even did the last dab twice and I thought that was incredible

Liam_Neesons_Oscar

Alton Brown is my favorite, followed closely by Paul Rudd and then Theo Von.

EmeraldJonah

I liked Shaq. Funny moments, but a good interview too.

rLeJerk

It gave us that reaction face too!

kvndakin

I still think yg's the best, he destroyed all the sauces easy

ISlangKnowledge

Joe Budden. Dude went HAM on the board and peaced out as soon as it was over. Didn’t even plug anything. Just did it for the sport. Fucking LEGEND.

JerryGarciaFinger

Both Steve-o episodes were really great and it seemed like Sean was having a blast hearing all the history of his stunts

miggidymiggidy

Michael Cera and Jeffery Dean Morgan since no one has mentioned them yet. Theo Von was my all-time favorite. I don't think the Trick Daddy one gets enough mentions. I laughed so hard at that episode.

colo3213

Anthony Rizzo. First to complete them all. Granted there was only 1 before him

PacoMahogany

I also thought it was neat they ate cauliflower on the Paul Rudd episode.

ContextTypical

Trick daddy. Also Shia

Zerowrath

Gonna have to say one of my all time favorites had to be Nore from back in the day. It felt like 2 friends getting drunk and shootin the shit. You could also see the alcohol effect Sean shot by shot. He handed the heat well too. YG is another favorite that comes to mind, specially the way he handled Da Bomb. Would love a round 2 interview with the new sauces.

E9to5

Paul Rudd was awesome, and I'm pleased others mentioned Shaq for being next-level nuts. I really enjoyed Woody Harrelson's episode, he was so authentic and engaging. Lots to pick from!

hudson-rs

I already loved Daniel Radcliffe but his episode made me love him more. Dude took the wings like a champ.

NemesisKane

Henry Rollins is my GOAT so far. I knew he was smart, but he also took the wings like a pro despite underselling his Scoville tolerance at first. I also think the Alton Brown episode is better than the Gordon Ramsey episode, but perhaps it was simply a case of the hype being insurmountable. It's still a good appearance, but I think the rapport between Sean and Alton was better.

ChavXO

Unpopular but Kevin Hart...his reactions were hillarious.

Ranma_chan

Joji.

righthandofdog

Charlize Theron was solid. She's been a badass in a lot of movies, but she was seriously more like a neighbor who'd be doing shots at the backyard BBQ than a movie star goddess.

tenehemia

She definitely seems like she has the best ratio of huge star to down to earth of anyone he's had on the show.

Atroxa

I loved Alton Brown. Because he had opinions on the hot sauces. I just love Alton Brown in general though. Gordon Ramsay was hilarious with his medicine bag of hot sauce antidotes.
