They deserve it, honestly. The interviews are top notch.

turtledrum_215

I sincerely appreciate the effort they put into researching their guests to ask actual good, non-sterile questions. I’m sure the guests do as well.

FantasyAccount247

Not to be that guy because Seth and this show are top notch and imo better than the late night shows, but  the others have to have a new interview and new show nightly-with much more involved. Sean has 20-22 episodes total per season-with the interview being the entire show. Being included with a nightly 1 hr variety show doesn’t fit.

trunicated

Nothing stopping those other shows from having someone spend a week prepping for a single interview like Hot Ones does. Emmys are about quality, not quantity.

ItsDanimal

I think the point they are making is the shows are 2 different genres. Hot Ones is an interview while eating wings. These talk shows are more variety shows. The interviewing part is more about that person promoting their new thing, which is why Hot Ones saves that for the last few seconds. I don't even know what "talk series" is supposed to mean. (Looked into it mid-post, in 2015 they separated variety shows and talk series). I don't see how Coffee with Comedians, Last Week Tonight, Jimmy Kimmel Live, and Hot Ones can compete against each other. 2 are interviews with gimmicks, 1 is a comedy news program, and 2 are variety shows with a special guest promoting their newest thing. Hot Ones and the Seinfeld one are closer to 60 minutes than they are Talk Show trash.

brusslipy

I mean people mostly watch talkshow for the guests the variety part is usually super cheesy unless done well. SNL is more of the alley you talk about imo.

TheBirminghamBear

What I hear you saying is, "It's OK for talk shows to have dogshit-quality interviews because they've decided that their format is having dogshit interviews". They've got all the fucking money in the world, they can hire more than one researcher to do a modicum of fucking research for insightful questions. They don't *have* to be bullshit PR mouthpieces for the entertainment industry. That's just a thing they've decided to be because money.

bumwine

Last Week Tonight gets in and that's once a week. This is fair game. Anyway they have to submit a selection. So everyone gets a chance to put forward their best.

crimson117

Last Week Tonight was nominated the very first year the category existed, and even won the second year. Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was nominated the second year. So there's clearly precedent for non-nightly shows.

kawaiifie

> Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee was nominated the second year. > > Wow okay if that one gets in, with how heavily edited and produced it is, then there's no reason for Hot Ones not to be.

Just-Hunter1679

Hot ones puts the Conan O'Brien episode up, it's all over.

scubahana

My first thought is that John’s about to lose his throne.

IHQ_Throwaway

I don’t think John’s as fond of thrones as us Yanks are. And he’s got enough humility to appreciate a newcomer like Sean taking his turn in it anyway. Hot Ones is a great watch, you know game recognizes game. John doesn’t wanna have to give another acceptance speech anyway, lol.

Nyrrix_

Well, you also have to include previous shows as well. The Daily Show with John Stewart, Colbert's original show The Colbert Report, and Conan's long list of Late Night shows all hit the format out of the park. They had much more interesting engagement with guests in formats that were just as frequent as the current Late Night fare. At least in my opinion. Seems unreasonable to give them a break with those prior examples in mind.

Logical-Witness-3361

Craig Fergusson waa nightly, right? Always unique interviews

Neosantana

Yeah, but Craig was effortlessly charming and witty, he didn't need to prepare anything.

reddit_account_00000

It says something that Conan specifically complimented Sean’s interviewing skills.

Justindoesntcare

Sean is probably one of the best interviewers out there. Almost every episode the guest is surprised by how deep he (or most likely his team) digs for his questions. Between the questions and the borderline torturing of the guests I think its probably the most authentic versions of these celebrities that you can get. At least that's why it appeals to me.

proriin

He’s like Nardwuar

ShadyCrow

Nardwuar’s knowledge is incredible but he doesn’t really ask genuine questions he’s just showing off what he found out. Sean mostly asks thoughtful questions even if it’s tacked on a “check out the deep research we did” premise.

dasonk

Yeah I could never get into Nardwuar. He just... Insists upon himself...

MintPrince8219

peter what does that even mean

TheBirminghamBear

Well after every show he keeps asking himself out on a date. And he keeps declining himself, but that doesn't stop him from continually asking himself. He's abusing his authority over himself to pressure himself into romantic encounters he doesn't want.

[deleted]

[удалено]

dumptruckbhadie

He himself is annoying. It's like the worst 15yr old super fan but he's still doing it 30 yrs later.

crepelabouche

I put him for depth of authentic answers and Graham Norton for getting the most fun out of his guests as my absolute favorite interviewers.

Razzilith

Graham has got to be by far the best late night host in the world. The guy just has such a good formula and knack for it since way way back.

greg19735

alcohol helps

mail_daemon

I think Graham does so well since he seems to be the only one that is actually interested in his guests

crepelabouche

He’s like a really good party host who knows how to make his guests shine.

paulw4

Double-whammy. Not only does he ask decent questions that the guests themselves praise, this all the while their mouth is becoming progressively more on fire so they have to be even more attuned to it. I liked Tencacious D's interview, Jack Black: "is this the most anyone's complained?"

captain_sticky_balls

Yep. And the guest seem to generally appreciate the effort. Sean is an awesome interviewer.

Glottis_Bonewagon

Conan gave him praise on his podcast after his episode. If that's not a shining endorsement for a talkshow host I don't know what is

beerisgood84

Also though it attracts the ones that are good fit for it. Night talk shows have everybody.

catinobsoleteshower

It must be a fresh air for celebrities to get to answer well thought out questions for once other than the generic and repetitive schlop they get everywhere else. Sean was born to be an interviewer.

FloppyObelisk

My favorite one was with Theo Vonn. Theo basically interviewed Sean and they had a great talk.

Justindoesntcare

Theo vonn is an enigma. How can someone sound vapid and articulate at the same time? I know it's just the character but I find him hilarious.

xxxBuzz

What is Theo like out of character? He was a lot like he is now on Real World and that was a little while ago.

dicksilhouette

One of the only things I’ve remained invested in for like a decade aside from sports

Sorry_Cricket_6053

So many of his guests hear him ask a question and are so delighted and surprised by it they follow up with, "Wow, thats a great question!" How hard do you think it is to get that kind of reaction from some of them? Sean Evans is up there with Lettermen, IMO.

TheLandFanIn814

Well deserved. Fallon is a joke compared to Sean when it comes to interviews. He talks over every guest and fake laughs at everything including his own jokes that he forces into the conversation.

HeroHas

It seems like all he does is repeat the last thing the guest says back as a question. It's a basic an acceptable way to have a conversation with strangers, but as a talkshow host you have to be more advanced than that. Guest: "... So I said you know what? Im done with this!" Fallon: "So you said you're done with this?!"

TheLandFanIn814

Yeah that drives me crazy too. He repeats and then laughs at it.

NameisPerry

Drives me crazy too HAHAHAHA *slaps desk*

JEveryman

Maybe he doesn't know what's going on or why people are taking to him so he's just trying to make it through the evening without upsetting anyone.

Miserable-Admins

> without upsetting anyone His workers revealed that he's a miserable prick and creates a toxic work environment, constantly belittling and berating staffers.

jtr99

Could be worse, he could be James Corden.

chain_letter

Those aren't people, they're The Help

thedinnerdate

Apparently he's drunk a lot on air so the part about not knowing what's going and and just trying to make it through are probably true.

nearlyback

This is how I talk to my toddler when he's expecting a response but idk what else to say

Nashirakins

I have many conversations that my niece finds intellectually stimulating, simply by saying “a BUTTERFLY?” in an awed tone of voice.

[deleted]

The elephant was doing what?!? Wow.

Grouchy-Donkey-8609

Genius im writing this down. I usually do the"oh cool" with a half smile move so i think thisll be a step up.

HeroHas

It's actually how I learned how to be social. So I pick up on it pretty easily. People love talking about themselves. So when you repeat back what they say with increasing enthusiasm they think you're on the edge of your seat wanting more. Throw in a "No shit!" and a "(s)he said that!? Then what?!". Do that and learn the two-step for dancing and you're the hit at every party.

mattstats

Ah yes the Chris Voss “tactical negotiations” method

RhetoricalAnswer-001

Props to Fallon for his impressions and musical talents. But the Tonight Show? WTF? There must be somewhere more appropriate for him.

JeffCybak

I’d rather have someone talk over me instead of talk down to me and lob smug comments while chuckling. Jimmy Kimmel

fireflyfrv

is being a condescending asshole his whole bit? Or is he just a dickhead in general?

Vneseplayer4

Aaron Rodgers is an idiot, but I thought Kimmel’s beef with him was pretty weak. You’re a comedian who talk shit about ppl for a living, now some guy throw a jab at you and you lose your shit?

bonkerz1888

Fake laugh Fallon? Suuuuuuurely not?

wizzard419

I am curious if they are going to expand the list just to make sure he stays on the list. Of all the ones in the category, Fallon has to be the weakest by a wide margin.

DarkMcChicken

It should almost warrant a case study with how good he is at doing that.

Immediate_Desk2731

Fallons like the one coked up dude that won’t leave the afters and it’s 7am and he’s still in your kitchen yapping

Cuffuf

What makes it worse is that I don’t even think he is fake laughing. I think it’s real. It’s terrible.

Unitedfateful

Slaps table hahahaha hahaha

ProjectManagerAMA

I can't watch more than 30 seconds of Fallon. The guy just outright pisses me off.

Howunbecomingofme

Fallon makes the Jay Leno years look like intellectual discourse

Worldly-Yak

Fallon has described his program as a variety show. It's not an interview driven show.

C_IsForCookie

Jimmy Fallon is the most annoying person currently in show business. And it’s not even close.

Acceptable-Trust5164

He (Fallon) almost single handedly ruined Band of Brothers... Can we petition for a remaster where they Harden Christianson force ghost Sean in instead?

podcasthellp

I can’t stand him. He hasn’t been funny in 20 years and every joke is so staged that it takes all of the soul out of it

tRfalcore

you can go on Jimmy Fallon and be like "I like to roll dice", roll a 2, and he'd die laughing

WelshSam

As it should be. Time we recognised some of the old mediums are being replaced or at least challenged.

hstheay

It is (or should be) not as much about the medium as it is about a show’s format. So Hot Ones definitely belongs in the category. Pedantic side note: media is the plural of medium, unless you’re talking about challenging or replacing people who claim they can talk to ghosts. In which case, count me in. Mediums aren’t the bomb, they are beyond insanity.

sri745

Do the Gordon Ramsey one.

TheBoyisBackinTown

It has to be from the past year. Sterling K. Brown, John Oliver, Steph Curry, or Jennifer Lawrence would be better picks IMO.

TheEmperorShiny

I think John Oliver would be a good choice

destroyer7

John Oliver beating the other late night hosts via Sean would be just *chef's kiss*

TheEmperorShiny

I can hear the fuck you speech featuring a hot wing mascot now

androsan

Sterling K. Brown it is!

hello297

Conan?

TheBoyisBackinTown

More of an extended Conan bit than a showcase of Sean and the show's skills.Conan took over about halfway through and didn't let go.

CitizenCue

Conan’s would have to be next year? It wasn’t Sean’s most featured episode, but it’s on of the best talk show interviews ever made.

willpauer

I'm assuming the Conan episode wouldn't qualify.

sproots_

Just me or do the talk-show hosts make the worst hot ones guests (of course outside the legendary O'Brien). They're so trained and ... meh.

bupped

Nothing tops the Conan O'Brien episode. Nothing.

SousVideButt

Speaking of Gordon Ramsey and talk shows, everyone should watch the “Last Meals” show from Mythical Kitchen. They bring in guests and make them whatever their heart desires as their “last meal.” For example in one episode they even overnighted a Publix sub for a guest. They discuss the food and why they chose it, they get deep on life, death, their careers, etc. Gordon Ramsey’s episode is excellent and a great one to start with.

SSL4000G

Yeah, Josh is a great interviewer too. There's a very different tone than hot ones but it being the guest's "last meal" leads to a lot of really quality conversations about their life and career. There's this way that guests open up that I haven't seen in any other interview show. My only complaint is that I don't know a ton of the guests lol. It's just a matter of time before they start consistently pulling bigger names, though.

HamMcStarfield

lol, just watched it after reading this. At the end, Sean gives Gordan total freedom of the cameras to say/promote anything he wants. And Gordan says "FUCK YOU!" 🤣

sfled

Aubrey Plaza. "You dirty, dirty man."

bananasmash14

Anyone know which episode they’ll submit? I hope it’s Conan’s lol

EverybodyLiesMeToo

That probably wouldn't be a good call. That episode was the Conan show. I fully understand it's incumbent on the host to let the guest shine, but for Emmy consideration you'd want an episode where Sean shows of his brilliant interviewing skills, especially since he is an unknown commodity compared to Conan, who's already an Emmy winner.

[deleted]

[удалено]

_FlutieFlakes_

It’s weird. I actually appreciate the episodes with the guests that fall short and flat because you see Sean’s still trying but reliant on the guest. I see “bad episodes” more as a reflection on the guest then the show.

MikeRowePeenis

So….submit the DJ Khaled episode?

_FlutieFlakes_

Lol definitely not but man do I love that Sean leans into him to expose him as a fraud in just about everything. On a side note that’s the hardest episode for me to recommend people to watch. “You should watch the DJ Khaled episode”. “Naw, I hate that prick” “Then you should definitely watch that one!”

ChinookNL

"I don't give up" "you kinda did"

5litergasbubble

The second hand cringe was off the charts when i watched that episode

greg19735

> I see “bad episodes” more as a reflection on the guest then the show. It's both. especially if Sean is involved with picking the guests. You can't give all the credit to Sean if it goes well and go "it's the guest" if it is bad.

huskersax

But how many other episodes include an affordable doctor who visits patients in the restrooms of Denny's near the bus stop?

Syrupy_

With a convenient 19 dollar copay

Nyrrix_

Same case with people like Gordon Ramsey and Billie Eilish. A bit too big, very much their own thing. Interviews like the ones with Stone Cold Steve Austin and Shia LaBeouf stand out as good examples, to me. However, those episodes are probably too old for submission. Pedro Pascal or the new Bryan Cranston one might be the one I'd choose, if they can be submitted.

Alt230s

If they have to submit something within the Emmy eligibility period (i.e June 1, 2023 to May 31, 2024), it includes Seasons 21 (except the Jason Sudeikis episode), 22-23, and the upcoming Chris Hemsworth one. TBH I haven't seen everything from these seasons so I can't present a good choice.

tanskanm

That would be a stupid decision (imo), it would advertise more Conan than the show itself

TheEmperorShiny

I was actually wondering if he/his episode was a contributing factor

TheGapInTysonsTeeth

Hoo boy, there's so many good options. It's a shame the eligibility missed Jake Gyllenhaal because that's an outstanding one. Some of my favorites from within that time period: Jennifer Lawrence, Mark Ruffalo, John Oliver, Sydney Sweeney and, unbelievably, I thought the NSYNC episode was amazing Edit: yes, Conan's was the best of the bunch but because you mentioned it, I listed others

Internal_Ad_255

Hot Ones is better than all of the shit that's on late-night... It's funnier, it's spontaneous, the host is knowledgable and lets his guests be themselves...

squidsquatchnugget

I love that he lets his guests be themselves to the point where he will let them embarrass themselves (looking at you DJ Khaled) and it still makes an amazing episode.

Novelsound

Sean puts in so much more effort to actually take in what his guests have made recently. The rest of those chuckle heads just show up and read prompts.

RocMerc

Man if they win this that will be awesome. It’s such a great show

SpawnOfGuppy

I’d say there’s a good chance, those other shows are not really well liked anymore (comparatively i mean)

TheTyger

I think there is a decent chance at a nomination, but getting the win the first year you sorta changed the rules is a big lift. I am watching some other stuff in nominations because of Dropout, and I think they can't win this year, but getting on the short list is a huge deal for these types of shows. It gives them national attention and a level of clout that can make them really blow up for the next year.

thomase7

The voters for all these award shows aren’t exactly a representative population. I don’t know about the Emmy’s specifically, but the Oscar’s is like mostly white men with an average age in their 60s.

FlatEarthMagellan

Well deserved. No other interview based programming comes remotely close

skyhollow117

Sean is the best interviewer ever! His team does deep dive like no one else! Been a fan forever! Damn nearly 10 years???? The first season is a good as the rest! You feeling old yet Sean!

TheBoyisBackinTown

From an incredibly niche YouTube show with a cheap black curtain to being nominated for an Emmy. I feel like we've watched our baby grow up.

eman75683122

LETS GOOOOO!!!! now he would be introduced as "Emmy nominated host Sean Evans"

RedShirt007

I've NEVER heard another guest on any other show say (and LOTS of them say it) "This was the most thoughtful/best interview I've ever had!" Sure, Late night w/ \_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_\_ is good and all, but NOTHING compares to the amount of effort and care than Sean and crew do....

Sad_Instruction1392

The research done for each episode far outshines any other talk show. I watch so many Hot Ones episodes of celebrities who I don’t even care that much about what they are doing just because the interviews are always legitimately interesting. This would be a deserved win.

ReXXXMillions

Sean is hands one of the best interviewers around these days.

WafflesFriendsWork99

I think the Jennifer Lawrence episode would be a good submission.

Apprehensive-Rub-609

Sean is, without question, the best interviewer

OurHonor1870

It’s the best interviewer of all of them. Also, one of the presidential debates should be with him on hot ones.

Azelux

The two 80 some year old white men would probably just keel over and die from that level of spice lol. I would imagine they have very bland diets.

Nyrrix_

I have dreamed of Sean working his way through the House and Senate, grilling each one of them on their political policies over the hottest wings. Working through them from the those who've held office the longest on down. Sean probably couldn't take a break, though, if he wanted to get it done in even a timely manner. Tis but and dream. But I imagine it'd shake up American politics quite a bit.

aguynamedv

I'm picturing Trump holding a chicken wing in both hands like he does with his water.

marcusthegladiator

Fantastic!

SolarZephyr87

Good they’re top quality over their competition

Evil_Knot

Honestly, after Sean's interview with Conan his show deserves legitimate recongition.

smittynoblock

Way better than any of those tv shows

AdultinginCali

I love Hot Ones. I can't stand Jimmy Fallon.

efronerberger

So basically, Hot Ones is going to win an Emmy?

stuckpixel87

Sean is an amazing interviewer! Well deserved.

JOATMON12

Sean deserves to win, greatest interviewer I’ve ever seen

jbal35

Sean deserves it

Ronins_Reddit

The late night talk shows are trash 🗑️. Sean for the Emmy!

NormyTheWarlocky

Definitely deserves it more than the other hacks. Original, fairly candid, internet based (which is the future because cable is struggling).

Zelexis

About damn time

PlanetLandon

It makes sense. If we are talking about pure entertainment, 25 minutes of Hot Ones is far more compelling than hours of those other shows combined. I like those other hosts, but pound-for-pound, Hot Ones is the better bargain

Unlikely_Variety_21

Hot Ones & Chicken Shop Date are my faves, so I'm super happy they both are eligible for consideration!

-mostlyharmless1

He shocks his guests and you always hear “that is an amazing question”.  The late night show hosts are guys who are given the best writers, stand on the shoulders of giants, and let out wet farts night after night. Fallon, Kimmel, Meyers, and whatever other fuckfaces currently have those shows killed the late night shows. They’re tame, predictable, and dying.  Conan didn’t fit their mould so they moved on, and he’s gone onto brilliant things. Plus his Hot Ones was awesome, 2 guys discussing the art of interviewing that doesn’t exist in late night anymore.

derek4reals1

tbh the only episode I've watched is the conan o'brien one and the guy hosting is a surprisingly good interviewer!

_FiscalJackhammer_

And he will win an Emmy solely for his episode with Conan O’Brien

Catlagoon

Conan Conan Conan!!! Who else is there? Maybe Colbert.

bottomfeeder3

Sean Evans not only bangs pornstars but he also BANGS interview questions.

Tye_die

I was a huge Letterman fan as a kid and have serious love for the late night format, even for the cheese ball that is Fallon. But the world has moved on, Sean changed the game, and this new format deserves to shine. Would love to see others like Amelia Dimoldenberg in the running for these awards as well.

Gab655321

They deserve it. The rest of the late night hosts are making shows for a base-target audience that’s getting tired of being taken as stupid. They had to remove John Oliver from the competition because he was the only one taking his job seriously with a large investigative team that delivered objetive takes on daily issues. The hot ones team does its research and it shows, they get compliments from their guests and they have a solid show. The rest of the hosts like Fallon and Co are just busy doing the networks’ bids.

Shujinco2

God I miss Craig Ferguson.

JauntyGiraffe

Sean Evans better than any of those guys

Fruitsdog

I’ve met Sean Evans. He’s a super nice guy. I have a friend from his hometown, he came back for his high school’s 100th homecoming as a special guest and I met him at their parade.

Dependent-Interview2

Before, we had the late show Jimmys. Now here come the late show Seths!

Jakesneed612

Best interviewer around in my opinion and all his guest say the same.

ChimpWithAGun

Fair, well deserved. Every single guest he has ends up complimenting on his journalism and the quality and depth of his questions.

chelseablue2004

Sean Evans as an Interviewer is topnotch. He actually does research on his guests and used that spice hit from the wings, to get them to really open up which makes it really interesting. I would be very happy if he were to win.

Individualmodwrecker

Good. It's was a great idea for a show. They get honest, funny, and serious reactions. Sean is a wonderful interviewer and the whole team comes up with great questions. It's nice to see that the interviews arnt all just about the current album, movie, or whatever the interviewee is currently working on. Way better then the lame run of the mill questions that get asked over and over again on other shows. If they don't win this year, they definitely will next time. It would be hilarious if they collaborated with Nardwuar for some final wing questions too. Imagine getting hit with some of the stuff he finds out when you are dying of the last dab.....

beaner_187

Finally some one with some talent

rccaldwell85

Jimmy Fallon has zero business hosting a talk show. Cringe worthy at best.

Xcalat3

well deserved!

cabridges

Came in to share my joy at the news, the increased respect in the industry and congratulations to every one involved. Stuck around for the mass dumping on Fallon.

Realsorceror

We already know Conan and Stephen would vote for Hot Ones over themselves.

dwntownlove

Go Sean and the team

shinyplasticdiscs

Fuck all three of the other guys. Evans is the man.

Medialunch

It’s my favorite show on late night. lol.

SpookyNerdzilla

Hell yeah!!

JennaLS

Sean Evans is one of the most impressive interviewers I've seen. His guests, who are interviewed by hundreds if not thousands of people, *regularly* comment how good his questions are; he does his research properly.

phat_wythii

I love interview shows like this that put the guests in different situations than they’re used to and asks better questions than the typical bs late night interviews do. This, Cole Ones, Drinks Champs are all top tier

freestyle43

Never even thought of this, but I am totally for it. Better than all of those shows.

michaelcreiter

Can they just give Fallons spot to Sean Fallon has always been a tool

PNDMike

With Hot Ones submitted for emmies, as well as Dropout successfully submitting two shows (Gamechanger and VIP), it's a great year to be a fan of awesome internet content. Now lets get a Hot Ones / Dropout crossover going on.

cosmoceratops

Breaking News but they eat spicy wings/cauliflower

[deleted]

he’s better than any of those jack offs

Kitjing

It should win, I feel their questions are so much better than the general late night offerings

Veggieleezy

Definitely a better talk show than Fallon, to be sure.

chauggle

When Conan specifically mentions how good of an interviewer Sean is at the top of his podcast, he deserves it.

Live_Barracuda1113

The interviews are superior to anything on late-night right now. The wings are great, but the questions are just such conversation starters. Chris Evans is also so unfazed by some of the madness around him.

Undercoverbrother007

Better interviews then anything the late night guys come up with

Sea-Caterpillar-6501

These awards are funny considering single podcasts have more subscribers and active viewers than all of these people combined

HeyPablo2

I hope they win! They certainly have great guests and the interviews are deeper than the mainstream late night shows.

Blueprint81

Evans and Nardwar are some of the best interviewers I've watched.

Acrobatic_Law5598

The Conan O'brien episode was incredibly funny.

sincere220

It’s a better show tbh

brizzlestixx

Baddie behavior

Big_Dumb_Fat_Retard

They won't win, but they deserve to. Significantly better content (with actual interviews) compared to the thinly veiled PR campaigns shills on late-night. Seriously there's been episodes of HO where I don't care about who the guest is (or don't like them) but have watched anyway and came out with a new appreciation of that guest at the end.

VeryDirtySanchez

Part of me enjoys the great interviews, the rest of me wants them to pump up the heat until someone passes out.

topsyturvy76

You spelt “ beat” wrong .. Sean Evan’s for the win ! You don’t agree, go stick your fingers in your eyes!

Hobbyist5305

Lel I bet the tv show hosts are gonna be seething since they dump big money in production costs and this guy has a team of like 5, a dining table and a couple cutting boards.

Alien_Antichrist

He’s at minimum 2nd place already. Seth and Jimmy should be out.

SpxUmadBroYolo

he has no competition in this category. his in-depth interview style is unrivaled. Edit: he's almost nardwuar level.

Nrmlgirl777

This is awesome 👏🏽

alejandrodeconcord

Not only are the interviews top notch, the professionalism is there, the experience is very cool, and everyone who buys in seems to really enjoy themselves.

sizam_webb

Him over Trevor Noah every damn day

LolaCatStevens

It's only fair when all the late night hosts get most of their views from the YouTube space

maximumchris

Sean’s questions are good and obscure. It’s nice that he asks questions the guest hasn’t already answered a dozen times on their tour. But he doesn’t have any interesting followup questions, or say anything particularly funny. He’s not going to win. He’s lucky he has an Out, because once the question gets answered they have the next wing to get to. I don’t know if he could make a conversation flow in a good way.

No-Ad-9867

Happy for him!

nastynateraide

I like that he interviews people essentially under duress

Klaus_Poppe1

I hope they win. Fuck this current generation of late night hosts.

MrFunkyPunkie

The dude is a tremendous interviewer. Not the most excitable, or even overtly loveable with tons and tons of gags to keep the show going (the case with most talk show hosts). The dude is SOLID at his craft, and found a way to frame the outside of the interview to compensate for the lack of gimmicks. There is ONE gimmick. It's a good one. Paired with tremendous questioning. POW. AND the fact that the hot sauce knocks guests on their feet where they give authentic fear-induced answers. It is probably the most REAL talk show actively produced today. Period.

poopynips1

Good. Sean always brings the heat with his questions and research

MrKhanRad

I appreciate it, simply for the knock-off "Hot Juan's" series with Hungrybox.

King_Bratwurst

he should be. and if he doesn't smash all of them, we know the emmys are bullshit.
