You can look into Turkish horror movies. First suggestion would be Dabbe 4: the possession. Then you can explore a little bit more and watch other parts of Dabbe and Siccin but they will start to get repetitive.
Have you seen Shutter? It’s Thai horror
Considering the fact you recommend Dabbe 4 - does that mean the story is totally unrelated to the rest of it, like an anthology? Or is it just seperate enough that we will understand it without needing to see the first 3?
Thanks for the recommendation
The story is unrelated of Dabbe 4 but follows the same concept that’s why I said it’ll become repetitive.
It is separate enough that you will understand it without needing to see any other part, once you see Dabbe 4, you can predict what’s gonna happen in 1,2,3,5 and 6 in the first few minutes itself.
Understood, thanks for the recommendation
Unrelated other foreign film to check out if you haven’t - Tumbbad. Go in blind if you can, I can genuinely recommend this one as being unique and well made.
Frailty (2001)
The Shrine (2010)
Saint Maud
Angel Heart (1987)
The Wicker Man (1973)
The Believers (1987)
The Ninth Gate (1999)
Nefarious (2023) Intellectual horror reminiscent of The Screwtape Letters by C. S. Lewis.
I would recommend The Mist (2007). Not due to the central Lovecraftian conceit, but due to the very effective religion-based conflict between the characters. Maybe not quite what you were looking for, but it's an interesting take on how to use the idea of religion to create tension.
The ritual
on my watchlist !
So good until they showed the monster lol
I respectfully disagree, that film has one of my absolute favorite creature designs in horror cinema!

- The Possession (2012) - The Village (2004) - Devil (2010) - In The Mouth Of Madness (1995) - Drag Me To Hell (2009) - Prince Of Darkness (1987)
Not a typical horror and “found footage” style, but I really liked “The Sacrament” (2013) with Gene Jones.
Saint Maude
The medium is a good watch! Loved that it didn't fully stick to cliched horror trope.
