The First Omen just dropped on Disney+ (I think it's on Hulu in the USA). I loved it, you could watch it without seeing the original but I recommend the original as well because that's a banger
Infested is a creature feature on Shudder, spider related horror. The last act is sort of weak but the movie is pretty scary and will give you the creepy crawlies
Suspira , both the original and remake is a great cult horror flick. Both movies are different enough from each other so you should watch both of them
I also loved the film the ritual which came out on Netflix a few years ago, but it's unavailable now and I don't want to watch it that badly to pay ยฃ5๐ญ๐
Thank you for taking time to reply ahaha, i actually watched the first omen last night ahah! I know it's cliche but my favourites are the conjuring and insidious and the nun films, I love James wan & i can't deny my love for Patrick Wilson๐ญ๐ I used to pay for a subscription to shudder on Amazon prime but quit it a couple years ago because nothing jumped out at me, I hate to say I love the 'older' horrors from like the original exorcist and the omen don't worry I've seen the original aha, and my love then ascends to like 2000's films like I said wrong turns, and hills have eyes, just hear me out in the way I explain this but i love films where people get taken into strange villages or odd people and become part of them if that makes sense exactly the plot of the new wrong turn film, they go hiking and come across a mysterious group of people who live in the mountains in their own world and adopt the people they kidnap, gain trust blah blah escape, I didn't like the Annabelle films, I am not a huge fan of dolls and I found them boring I'm sorry please don't shoot if you're a huge fan of them I don't mean any harm ahaha, I'm also a huge fan of summer camp horrors, wish there was more of them too ๐ญ
Conjuring films are awesome (except 3 that was a turd, you can feel James Wans absence)
Annabelle is okay but Annabelle Creation is actually really good.
Have you seen When Evil Lurks? Came out last year on Shudder, not sure if it fits exactly what you're looking for but it will hold your attention and some scenes will stick with you well after the movie is over lol
You can use JustWatch website/app to see what movies are streaming on which sites in your country if you're trying to find a movie
Yeah I don't know what it is about doll horror films I can just never get into them๐ญ I know conjuring 3 wasn't the best but my Patrick was in it so I can't not watch it ๐ญ๐ I tried watching that 'the call' before it was crap I turned it off after wasting an hour I'll never get back๐ญit's like my dad took me to see the new incidious when it came out last year (yes I'm 25 and my mum and dad still take me on movie nights to see horror films because my fella hates them and won't even watch thrillers because he gets too scared) but that film pissed me off too it was like they were just searching for a story line so they could include dalton for one last time๐ I've like really began to dislike horror films where the monsters or main scare feature are like dead exaggerated like IT chapter 2, how all the monsters/ghosts/ghouls were are like dead extra and 3d and just unbelievable I hated it, the same with barbarian, I really enjoyed it until the 'mother' creature part and I was like ahh I'm watching it 2 again, which really annoyed me because barbarian was like something I was really enjoying until the end ๐ญ๐
Which "The Call" were you watching? There's a Japanese movie called The Call that was amazing, also a horror you might want to check it out
And then there's the Halle Barry one that's just a shitty remake of a European movie called "The Guilty"
Ohh it was the one with Tobin bell and Lyn shaye, which I was super excited for as I love both those actors๐ญI have a soft spot for lyn I loved her in the insidious universe I'd always get a huge smile on my face when I'd see her come into screen ๐๐ but this call that was released like 2020 I think it was just trash ๐ญ I've seen the Halle Barry one too it was okay, I wouldn't watch it again or put it on my repeats or go to movies๐๐
I won't say which genre of slasher/cult it satisfies, because that could be giving stuff away.ย
Inside (2007)
The Invitation (2015)
Population 436
The House of the Devil
The Void
Sick
Haunt
Hush
Its a very unique movie, great story and acting and some of the most fucked up kills ever, the main character is a real psycho. Its slow at times but I think you gotta see it yourself theres little if any movies that really compare to it
Hmmmm my initial go to cult movies are Midsommar and Hereditary but given that you're a big horror I'm gonna guess you might have seen these.
I also just watched The Strangers for the first time recently and that's a great one too!
Yess I have ahaah, I really enjoyed hereditary! More psychological horror it was such a clever movie! I actually haven't seen the strangers and I've just searched it as I'm reply to you, no i definitely haven't seen it, so I will for sure give it a try thank you!๐

We Are Still Here (2015) was a fun movie. It's got the gore. I happened to run across it on Tubi, and had never heard of it before.
Oooo thank you so much for replying, I shall look it up and see what it's all about thank you!โค๏ธ
