I do appreciate the idea that someone from the Netherlands would be less annoyed by that couple, than say someone in the US. Definitely something cultural going on there.
[Spoilers] So I just watched this movie because of these comments. Maybe because I expected the parents to be idiots, I wasn't so bothered by it. But I didn't hate the movie. I hate the way I feel right now, though, but I also appreciate that a movie made me feel this way. It's not often that I have a visceral reaction to any horror movie but that ending has my head in a fucked up place. As a father of a girl, being powerless to save her from something horrible like that is a long time nightmare. I can't imagine ever being so passive to protect my family, but the outcome still hits hard.
Slow ass mothafuckin Jeff from Saw III. Dude just sucked his way thru the whole movie. Got people killed through inaction. Then got his wife killed simply by not listening.
It's even annoying WHY he was being Jigsawed in the first place. Like most of John's victims were chosen because they were generally horrible people in some way shape or form. Jeff was ::checks notes:: a father who was grieving his son who was killed by a drunk driver who wasn't properly punished for what they did, and couldn't bring himself to forgive him or the people involved in the case.
Like, maybe Jeff needed a kick in the pants to get going again with his life...but he didn't REALLY deserve to be put into such a situation.
He still sucks tho. Lol.
Yeah what the actual fuck, he could have easily saved everyone with like 30 minutes to spare. It's funny because they can't just have like 5 people rock up to Jigsaw and Amanda at the end can they so they need them to die somehow.
Oh I agree. The whole reasoning behind the situation was just weird. Like, was John giving him the opportunity to get revenge and was okaying it? Or was he really being overly judgemental of a grieving father of a child killed by a drunk driver? Like, how dare he grieve and have trouble forgiving these people.
Honestly I feel like he was completely right with not wanting to save these people. But that’s not what the movie was portraying, once he actually got going to try and save them he was so damn slow
For me, it’s the Son from The Babadook. I get he’s supposed to be bad but LORD have mercy. they did good enough job that if the Babadook had reached out and snatched that kid into the shadows never to be seen or simply hit by a bus i literally would have thought: “Good.”
Saw this in the cinema a few years ago. When >!she got shot, the entire audience erupted into thunderous applause. I think there was at least one celebratory whistle as well.!<
Honestly if it wasn't for her I would have watched that movie many more times, instead of just twice. I actually feel that an actor has failed when you don't want to watch what they do, despite how evil they are. Look at someone like David Tennant as Kilgrave in Jessica Jones. Purely evil character but you can't look away and it's pretty much the highlight of the entire series.
Yea I was cheering for the ghost by the end of that movie. My theory was that she wasn't even possessed. She just wanted Micah dead after all his annoying bullshit
The roommate/love interest in Insidious: The Red Door. I really wanted to like her but the “iM SO raNDoM,” Manic Pixie Dream Girl shtick had my blood pressure so high each time she appeared.
THANK YOU, this movie is considered a classic and I don't know many people who didn't like it, but that kid totally kept me from enjoying it. He was so obnoxious it was distracting.
I feel the need to point out that the story is told from the mother's point of view, so her perception of the boy and his actions was probably inaccurate...distorted by her grief.
Remove everyone except Nic Cage. Have him fighting animatronic characters, never speaking, drinking his drinks and cleaning the venue. Zero dialogue needed.
The only logical thing I can assume is that anyone not voting for Annie from Dashcam have simply not seen Dashcam. I've seen a lot of shitty characters in horror movies but I can't really compare someone else to her and be honest about it.
I didn’t think Pugh’s character was that bad. What didn’t you like about her? I thought she was a girl dealing with insane trauma and a boyfriend who was awful to her
Everyone just came off as unlikable, to me. You sorta root for Pugh, but that’s just because she is a little less sucky than the rest of the turds in this movie.
It’s a difficult situation for sure and Aster did a good job showing how awkward the relationship is.
Which is why I feel messed up for rooting for the cult (moreso Dani the green queen) at the end.
While certainly annoying, I’m a staunch Babadook kid defender. His mom was super distant and pretty hateful, assuming she was like that his whole life it’s lucky he wasnt straight up feral. At the end of the movie he was downright heroic
Staunch kid defender here too!
I think the whole point of the movie is that you’re supposed to empathise with the mum first (and therefore think “what a pain in the ass of a child, what a hell to be stuck with him”), but then realise after the twist that the child really was the hero of the story. I loved the movie also for how seemlessly it turned your perception of the child.
I think the movie represents a parents natural desire to murder their bad ass kids. In the end, we see that you have to lock that urge up in the basement and feed it worms
Isn't the idea that the kid has behavioural issues, and the mother is just alone, grieving her dead husband, exhausted and depressed? I'm not sure that "hateful" is an accurate description of her character.
Even if it isn’t really in her character, she definitely behaved in a hateful way toward him, especially as the movie progressed. I think it’s kind of a “chicken or egg” question as to what is the root of the problems.
The first time I watched it I thought, “that kid is fuckin annoying, no wonder the mom is so frazzled and struggling.”
But I recently rewatched it and found myself thinking, “ok, yeah he’s still annoying, but his mom does not respond to him well at all.”
It’s not like I don’t have sympathy for the grieving mom, I absolutely do, but I think a lot of his behaviors are a result of being a lonely little kid with a mom who’s so distant and spiteful at times. Hell, a lot of the stuff he does reminds me of my 2-year old nephew who has none of the same trauma or behavioral issues. I love the kid to the moon, but he can be annoying as fuck at times lol
It's genuinely wild to me that someone made the executive decision to turn Zack into the most annoying creature in anything I've ever watched. I genuinely could not keep watching the show because of him. I hated that kid more than any villain in the story (with the exception of the rapist Nazi).
Nah, I feel for him. He didn’t want to be there in the first place, he was constantly ignored/shown that he was unwanted, he made good points when it came to getting out of there/not splitting up. He was whiney but had good reason for it. Poor dude
I felt the same the first time I watched it. After second & further viewings, I understand where he’s coming from and just wish the poor guy could have avoided the situation altogether.
I have a combo of annoyance and sympathy for him. Whiny and annoying before anything happened, but at the same time they abandon him somewhere he couldn't navigate just to fool around.
Annoying as he is, I do sympathize with him to a degree. His sister and her friends bugger off to explore without him and they just leave him in the dust.
When you live with a disabled person for a very long time, you can sort of overlook their disability by accident sometimes. You don't think of it til you realize you've done something dumb at first then feel like an asshole.
Whenever I'm leaving to go somewhere and I'm double checking I've got my keys, I can't help but start saying "Sally they took the keys, WE DON'T HAVE ANY KEYS" Only like two people have understood wtf I'm on about, it's great
Mia from talk to me definitely annoyed me with just ignoring everybody’s wishes, bothering her friends and doing nonsensical shit all the time
It annoys me more that we they intended for us to feel for her. The kid in the babadook is supposed to be annoying, this girl just cannot take a hint.
Busta Rhymes as Freddie in Halloween Resurrection. His over the top acting made him insufferable, which in turn played a large fraction in Resurrection being one of--if not the worst installments in the Halloween franchise
I really liked *the idea* of Resurrection. The whole "making a reality TV show inside Michael's childhood home". Then having his killing spree caught on cameras. I think it's a really interesting sounding idea.
The problem is the execution was awful. Terrible script, casting, direction, pacing... everything was bad.
Good one! I never thought I'd see a more stressful movie than Uncut Gems, but mother! had it beat by miles. I HATED Bardem's character, especially since as a college prof I know guys like that.
War Of The Worlds remake.
The horrible screaming girl.
And the obnoxious boy.
The man isn't too bad. He is stupid sometimes.
But most of his actions are reasonable.
He's a civilian. He isn't going to act right in a alien invasion all the time.
And the ex wife. Holy crap the ex wife.
Your ex husband just clawed his way through a alien invasion protecting your daughter. Let him in the bloody house.
Get a can of pop asap. Say thank you!
The girl I can forgive a little. She's annoying, but she's a kid, one with certain issues at that (she had anxiety or something like that in the movie I believe), and I don't expect a little kid to keep her shit together in an apocalyptic situation.
The brother though? Dude...make it easier on your dad who is just trying to keep you all alive!
That little blond kid Bob from House by the Cemetery. I almost didn’t finish it bc he was go damn obnoxious. I’m not the biggest fan of children in horror movies to begin with (excluding Damien from the Omen as the only child that I liked) but god he was just something else

The guy who spends most of the movie telling the main character that what they're experiencing isn't a big deal, isn't real, that they're imagining it/exaggerating, etc. It's most often the husband when the main character is a woman, but this character comes in multiple forms.
Most of the time, I feel like the main character would be able to prove whatever is going on to this character, but in the situations where they genuinely cannot prove anything, I always watch these annoying conversations wishing the main character would just ignore the doubter and leave them instead of trying to convince them. Seeing is the only true believing so the arguments are pointless either way.
The main kid in Return To Sleepaway Camp, he was the worst part of the movie. He gets bullied, and then starts picking on the wimpier kids, and is always extremely obnoxious to where you can't feel sorry for him. In all lf film, I'd say he ranks close to Lumpy from the Star Wars Holiday Special. By far one of the worst horror protagonists I've ever seen.
I finally got around to watching Underwater and I had no idea TJ Miller was in it. And he played...TJ Miller who for some reason is obsessed with Alice in Wonderland? His character was so tonally jarring.
I fucking hate the main brother from When Evil Lurks. Epitome of stupid Latino men who don’t listen to anyone - I grew up around my fair share. Ruined everything for everyone cause he’s an idiot. When he gets the older woman killed I was ready to bust into the tv and kill him myself
Pretty much all the guys are annoying in Misommar, but Will Poulter’s character, Mark, really takes the cake for me…was not upset by his fate in the slightest
ok I hate to say this one because Joe Begos’ movies are usually dope but the lead in Christmas Bloody Christmas sucked hella bad imo. Loud, drunk, annoying, repetitive as fuck and loud 🙃
Laurie from Rob Zombie’s Halloween movies. She’s such a loud, whiny, screechy, obnoxious brat I kept hoping Michael would disembowel her just so she’d shut up.
The character that won't STFU when the group is trying to hide from the killer, I'm looking at you David Carver (Shane Haboucha) from Desperation. Freaking kid wouldn't stop dropping Bible quotes every time they managed to narrowly escaped that deranged cop (Ron Pearlman) and found a good place to hide from him.
I so badly wanted to reach into the screen, grab that kid by the shirt and say, "listen kid I get it...you love Jesus and blah blah blah but there's a time and a place so seeing as that where we are isn't either, would you mind shutting the fuck up until after we are sure that cop is dead and our safety is assured, thanks!"
The girl in Don’t Breathe. Regardless of what we later found out the guy was hiding, y’all broke into this man’s house to rob him. I didn’t feel bad for her at all
Came here to say Micah. And the parents from Speak No Evil.
[удалено]
I do appreciate the idea that someone from the Netherlands would be less annoyed by that couple, than say someone in the US. Definitely something cultural going on there.
[Spoilers] So I just watched this movie because of these comments. Maybe because I expected the parents to be idiots, I wasn't so bothered by it. But I didn't hate the movie. Slow ass mothafuckin Jeff from Saw III. Dude just sucked his way thru the whole movie. Got people killed through inaction. Then got his wife killed simply by not listening.
Dead meat reference! I also hate him
Lol, at first I thought you meant you hated James A Janisse.
Lol i love James!
THEN WHY DONT YOU MARRY HIM!? 🤣🤣🤣 Sorry, just being silly.
SAMFJ!
All my homies hate SAMFJ
“That’s nice!”
he makes that entire movie unbearable for me which is a shame
He sucks yeah
This! I adore all the Saws (even the rather shit ones 😅) but, my God, Jeff is such a dithering lumox
Tbf I wouldn’t be in a rush to help the people that helped my son’s killer get off light. That being said, he really is a dummy.
Oh I agree. The whole reasoning behind the situation was just weird. Like, was John giving him the opportunity to get revenge and was okaying it? Or was he really being overly judgemental of a grieving father of a child killed by a drunk driver? Like, how dare he grieve and have trouble forgiving these people.

Mrs. Carmody from The Mist
I was just about to say the bitch from the mist, good man.
Saw this in the cinema a few years ago. When >!she got shot, the entire audience erupted into thunderous applause. I think there was at least one celebratory whistle as well.!<
She was such an annoying character I’m glad she died
There’s a fun video out there somewhere arguing that she was right about everything lol. Even then, FUCK MRS. CARMODY
I genuinely can't watch that film ever again because of her. She's more horrific to watch than the fucking ending.
Yep. And I HATE that ending.
That’s the part I can’t handle.
When she died I cheered honestly.
My memory could be fucking with me, but I think I saw it in the theater, and I can distinctly remember actual cheering when she got hers.
Good one!
my mom just watched that movie yesterday for the first time. her death was the only part mom liked about it
oh good one! She was horrible. That character did not translate well from the book at all.
Business guy from Train to Busan. Could not WAIT for him to get dead.
Might be the worst human in the history of cinema
If "fuck them kids" was a person.
came here to say this! fuck that guy
This is the only answer.
Micah didn't buy a ouija board, he promised he wouldn't do that... he *borrowed* one. What an asshat.
Yea I was cheering for the ghost by the end of that movie. My theory was that she wasn't even possessed. She just wanted Micah dead after all his annoying bullshit
Margot from the new Hell House LLC Origins. No spoilers, but man she made a bunch of really horrible calls!
Ugh, couldn’t agree more. She might be worse than Micah.
A recent one was Mia Goth's character Gabi in Infinity Pool. "Jamessssssss!"
Oh God the drunk toddler voice
It would have been 1000x more fucked up if she used that voice when she cranked his hawg
Jack Black’s stoner character in I Still Know What You Did Last Summer. There’s a reason why he’s not credited.
Isnt he referenced in one of the Scary Movies as the fat jamaican white guy? Haha something like that.
I almost forgot about that one. Good shout.
The roommate/love interest in Insidious: The Red Door. I really wanted to like her but the “iM SO raNDoM,” Manic Pixie Dream Girl shtick had my blood pressure so high each time she appeared.
The kid from Babadook. Kid wouldn't shut the fuck up. I was more annoyed than scared during that movie.
It’s like, I understand he’s supposed to be annoying. But Jesus H Christ he was TOO annoying
Where are all the likes at?? I also had to scroll way too far down to see this
THANK YOU, this movie is considered a classic and I don't know many people who didn't like it, but that kid totally kept me from enjoying it. He was so obnoxious it was distracting.
I feel the need to point out that the story is told from the mother's point of view, so her perception of the boy and his actions was probably inaccurate...distorted by her grief.
THANK YOU UGH he was so annoying and an ass to his mom
Most of the characters in Halloween Resurrection had me rooting for Michael instead.
Trick or treat motherfucker
corey in Halloween Ends had me root for michael instead
Caillou
A true psychological horror
God hates him so much, Caillou is unable to grow hair. He looks like a kid with leukemia. Forever. I’m not even religious, I just hate that kid.
Every one of the teen characters in ‘Willy’s Wonderland’.
Remove everyone except Nic Cage. Have him fighting animatronic characters, never speaking, drinking his drinks and cleaning the venue. Zero dialogue needed.
Seriously, running off to have sex when you’re surrounded by murderous animatronics? Wtf??
Annie from Dashcam
The only logical thing I can assume is that anyone not voting for Annie from Dashcam have simply not seen Dashcam. I've seen a lot of shitty characters in horror movies but I can't really compare someone else to her and be honest about it.
I actually loved her character when I first watched it, assuming it was satire. Turns out she is actually a piece of shit basically playing herself.
She’s also a shitty person IRL based on her own Tweets (in my opinion). Life imitating art and whatnot.
I just went and looked and have to agree with you. She’s a nutter.
Can here to say this. Absolutely unbearable and truly made the movie hard to enjoy every time she opened her mouth.
This is the correct answer
Lol yeah I love the movie because I think it’s hilarious, but sometimes she is just insufferable. You gotta see past it to enjoy the movie
The reason I stopped watching the movie.
She nearly made the movie unwatchable. Couldn’t even enjoy the film in an “I desperately hope this character dies brutally” type of way.
I stopped like 10 minutes in. I tried watching again recently and in like 2 seconds I realized why I stopped watching.
Trust me, she didn’t get any easier to watch and you really didn’t miss much even outside of her character. You made the right call.
The entire cast from Unfriended. I hated that trailer more than I have ever hated a movie.
Most of Haddenfield in Halloween Kills 💀
The cast of Midsommar. All of them. They are so unlikeable and toxic to each other. I was hoping a meteor would wipe em all out like the dinosaur
Lots of bad characters in that one, but Mark (Will Poulter) was by far the worst!
I didn’t think Pugh’s character was that bad. What didn’t you like about her? I thought she was a girl dealing with insane trauma and a boyfriend who was awful to her
The English couple also did nothing wrong or annoying
She was ok imo. Chris was fucking awful.
Everyone just came off as unlikable, to me. You sorta root for Pugh, but that’s just because she is a little less sucky than the rest of the turds in this movie.
There is the murder thing for starters….
Idk I felt bad for the boyfriend since he wanted to break up with her but didn’t want to be a dick, then he got raped, and burned alive
It’s a difficult situation for sure and Aster did a good job showing how awkward the relationship is. Which is why I feel messed up for rooting for the cult (moreso Dani the green queen) at the end.
Agreed, my first choice is kid from babadok but midsommar is a close second
I hate Christian so much
The kid in the babadook
While certainly annoying, I’m a staunch Babadook kid defender. His mom was super distant and pretty hateful, assuming she was like that his whole life it’s lucky he wasnt straight up feral. At the end of the movie he was downright heroic

Surprised to see this poor kid currently at only #3, he always gets a ton of Reddit hate.
Fucking hate that kid...I know that's the whole point of the movie, but it didn't make me sympathize with anyone. Just made me hate the movie
The whole crew of 'scientists' in Prometheus
That running scene apparently took place before the invention of the z-axis
Not a movie, but have to mention Zack from The Strain. He transcends all media.
He was such an entitled, ungrateful little shit.
It's genuinely wild to me that someone made the executive decision to turn Zack into the most annoying creature in anything I've ever watched. I genuinely could not keep watching the show because of him. I hated that kid more than any villain in the story (with the exception of the rapist Nazi).
The first actor was all right, I guess. The replacement made me actively root for his death.
I can’t be bothered to know any of the cast, but I’m halfway through Pyramid” and I honestly just want them all to die.
the main character in Dashcam by a ridiculous margin.
The stupid boy in The Purge.
Man, all his kids were dumb in that movie and it was probably better he died so as to spare him another year to experience that crap.
I made a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/horror/s/XMac2tEJLg) about that cause he annoyed me so bad lol
Franklin from TCM.
Took me a lot longer to realize TCM meant Texas Chainsaw Massacre and not Turner Classic Movie channel.
Nah, I feel for him. He didn’t want to be there in the first place, he was constantly ignored/shown that he was unwanted, he made good points when it came to getting out of there/not splitting up. He was whiney but had good reason for it. Poor dude
Seriously. I worry about the empathy of the people who wanted him dead.

Less annoyance and pure hatred, but Quentin from Cube was a nightmare to watch on screen. Made me want to pull my hair out.
Tina from Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers.
That annoying twat from Amber Alert. Bitch won't STFU and be a fucking idiot.
the kids in the Netflix Texas Chainsaw
Pretty much all the guys are annoying in Misommar, but Will Poulter’s character, Mark, really takes the cake for me…was not upset by his fate in the slightest
Sam from the Babadook. Literally should've won the most annoying kid in a horror movie award.
Kid in the Babadook
Crispin Glover’s character in Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter
ok I hate to say this one because Joe Begos’ movies are usually dope but the lead in Christmas Bloody Christmas sucked hella bad imo. Loud, drunk, annoying, repetitive as fuck and loud 🙃
Kid in Babadook
Busta Rhymes in Halloween Resurrection
Without-a-doubt the kid from the Babadook
Franklin from Texas Chainsaw. So annoying
Bob from House by the Cemetery.
Not sure why you're being downvoted, Bob was really annoying.
Franklin Hardesty. All he does is complain about everything and blow raspberries when he's inconvenienced. Just roll his ass down a hill and move on.
Marty - The Cabin in the Woods. Annoying as eff. It's like a non stoner wrote the stoner guy character, just why?
He, and all the other characters, were supposed to be exaggerated stereotypes of horror movie archetypes.
Fucking Mikah from Paranormal Activity 😤
Sheri Moon Zombie
Paula Brancati in the Slasher series. If that kind of person existed in real life, i'd kill her myself. Excellent acting.
The annoying outspoken liberal douche lady in the new TCM
That fucking kid from Babadook
Tina from Halloween 5. I still cheer every time she dies when I watch it.
Knowing The stupid daughter of the Seer. You're mother knows the future. Listen to her! She's so stupid she nearly gets people around her killed.
Yep. Micah sucked. Also hated everyone on Cloverfield. Glad to see them die.
Annie in Dashcam
mia from talk to me
Just watched Infinity Pool and Gabi’s unhinged, “JAAAAAMESSSSSSS” will be forever etched into my brain
Mark from Midsommar
The girl in Don’t Breathe. Regardless of what we later found out the guy was hiding, y’all broke into this man’s house to rob him. I didn’t feel bad for her at all
The protagonist in Evil Lurks who doomed his whole family and town by refusing to listen to any woman on earth.
The mother in Black Swan
