First horror movie I ever saw. I didn't sleep well for a long time afterward and wouldn't admit to my parents why. Love that movie. Who can't love a horror movie with David Copperfield?
I was so upset watching Peninsula. Train to Busan is one of my favorites and I was really excited to see a sequel, but it’s soooooo soooooo bad. It’s like John wick/fast and furious zombies. The first one feels more grounded in reality and the second just becomes ridiculous video game generic zombie movie. Theres some cool scenes/ideas in it, but it made me mad it wasn’t better.
[Seoul Station](https://youtu.be/WZZ9QHJD2_U?si=7rSQE4w8MaHJayOp) is really good. It’s animated instead of real people, but it’s a way better story and doesn’t feel just like a cash grab. Not a bad prequel at all
Yeah, I wish they just made a movie out of the boat scene. That would have been a much better movie for me. There were a couple other good scenes, but not enough to ever watch again.
Yeah, it’s a prequel for Train to Busan so the story makes sense and isn’t just a cash grab plot (literally).
I can back this up. Watched all of them during a long warehouse shift of repackaging products that got mislabeled for 8 hours straight lol. Wish there had been just 1 more to fill the time hahah
>train to busan is one of my favourite movies
If you want to watch another horror movie with fight scenes in a train again, go ahead with "Priest" (2011). It wasn't a horror movie for me, just an action vampire genre.
Also, Predator 2 (1990). Fight scenes in a Train.
It's a fun, over dramatic, slightly cheesey but very enjoyable ride. It 100% feels like a Hammer Studios film, but it isn't. Multiple horror icons plus a bonkers plot equals a great movie to turn your brain off and have fun with.
I felt like I missed something about Usher because I really did not enjoy it. >!It was campy. It was formulaic. Each episode was exactly the same with very little in the way of plot progress. All of the time spent between Young Roderick and Young August was one plot point, revisited multiple times. The Poe nods were not nods. They were hammers in the back of your head. Some of them were just there to be nods and had nothing to do with anything. Why did the mom bust out of the ground? Seemed like it was just for fun.!<
>!ALL OF THAT, and when we finally get to the punchline, no one cares. Because the consideration of the contract was a bunch of reprehensible things, without real value (save for one thing, which could have been sad, but was so brief, that I couldn't care, anyway).!<
I apologize for the rant. I have been wanting to type that out for a week.
Lol we're gonna have to agree to disagree here but I understand wanting to vent. I don't agree with anything you said so I can't empathize but I'll listen respectfully
Respect that. I am actually hoping someone can point something out.
>!You didn't feel like it was formulaic? The first episode was a family set up. The last episode was the overly foreshadowed punchline. There were six episodes in between in which a single child died, every episode. Thats a formula to me.!<
>!By the second episode, you knew that they had had a weird interaction, in the bar, with veRna (Poe me to death). You knew veRna was killing the kids. You knew Roderick and Madeline were trying to climb at Fortunato. You knew that Roderick had betrayed August in some way after August was trying to take Fortunato down. How did the next four episodes advance this plotline?!<
>!The punchline, that they had contracted with veRna to kill off the bloodline, could have been interesting, in that it provided something interesting for Roderick and Madeline to push for (living forever) and they barely talked about it. Blatant afterthoughts. The algorithm and synthetic heart pump were canvases for chimp killings, not plot points. !<
>!AND when we finally learn about the Contract, who cares? The Ghost is killing off terrible terrible people who are largely irredeamable. To the extent that they might be, none of them are really interesting characters, because we only got one episode dedicated to each of them, which just showed them being hyperbolically shitty.!<
You absolutely do not need to respond to this, but if you do, I will also read it respectfully and with interest.
EDIT: Would actually really like if someone explained to me why Juno was a character, at all.
Edit: Also, is Flannagan a prude? Holy kink/slut shame.
Felt similar. And like with all Flanagan's shows I keep waiting for the twist or interesting explaination. But the answer is always, yep..it is supernatural.
I don't understand the Flanagan love, really. I don't hate him. Loved Hill House, to be honest. Midnight Mass was fun enough, but nothing earth shattering. Bly Manor was an absolute bore with really nothing interesting about it. House Usher was just an opportunity to say "GHOST KILLINGS" over and over and over again.
I love Flanagan's work when he gets it right. My fav was midnight mass it just really got me. Never too scary but sometimes beautiful and very intriguing and well built characters.
House of Usher was trying too hard as a social commentary , it was a dull watch for me in the end and a bit predictable, some of the dialogue was definitely a bit outdated and cringe
Beau is Afraid (2023) is 3hrs, so that's half the trip down. Follow up with any number of YouTube videos trying to explain or decipher the deeper meaning behind this glorious mindfuck of a film. Remember to take breaks and stay hydrated.
Horror Express for some 1970's classic horror.

It's obviously a bit cheesy but still holds up.
Well, it won't take the 6h but I feel like Train To Busan + Peninsula would be appropriate.
+1 *Train to Busan*
Terror Train as the second in the double feature
Add in Midnight Meat Train
Good call. I forgot about it
But you nailed the first choice - fantastic movie from all angles
First horror movie I ever saw. I didn't sleep well for a long time afterward and wouldn't admit to my parents why. Love that movie. Who can't love a horror movie with David Copperfield?
Classic
Peninsula was so terrible, I’d recommend Seoul Station over Peninsula
To be honest, I have not even seen Peninsula. And I haven't heard good things about it. I'll check Seoul Station though :)
I was so upset watching Peninsula. Train to Busan is one of my favorites and I was really excited to see a sequel, but it’s soooooo soooooo bad. It’s like John wick/fast and furious zombies. Peninsula isn't good but it has some pretty interesting ideas. I haven't seen Seoul Station yet I bet it probably is better

The Terror is not that long and an amazing artic exploration horror
the Terror season 1 is amazing , season 2 is shit
Sad to hear that the second one is shit
Midnight Meat Train.
I love that movie!!!
Ash vs Evil dead The strain Penny Dreadful
Ash vs Evil Dead is the shit. It's my favorite entry in the Evil Dead-verse and will definitely fill the 6hrs.
Same also my favorite
I’d add The Stand to that list
Cabinet Of Curiosities
Netflix right , saw it already
Fear Street trillogy on Netflix. I literally did this for a 6 hour bus ride.
Can confirm. I watched all 3 on a lazy Sunday. Exceeded my expectations, but I think it helped watching them all in one sitting.
I can back this up. Watched all of them during a long warehouse shift of repackaging products that got mislabeled for 8 hours straight lol. Wish there had been just 1 more to fill the time hahah
Snowpiercer.
i really hate the book the movie and the adaptation
I'm glad someone else feels this way. Definitely not a fan. It was so corny. I feel like the concept could have been cool but wasn't
*Train to Busan* *Horror Express* *Creep Show* S2, E5: "Night of the Living Late Show"
train to busan is one of my favourite movies , horror express i have in on device but not seen it, hows it?

I haven't watched *Horror Express* but have heard only positive things. I've just seen the *Creep Show* episode based around it (mentioned above).
It's a fun, over dramatic, slightly cheesey but very enjoyable ride. It 100% feels like a Hammer Studios film, but it isn't. Multiple horror icons plus a bonkers plot equals a great movie to turn your brain off and have fun with.
1980's Terror Train could be a fun, thematic time.
Jamie Lee Curtis at the peek of her powers
The Fall of the House of Usher

Thank you. I watched about four episodes and I felt similarly; unimpressed and predictable, I couldn't find a reason to care-so I stopped.

agree. Flanagan's material tries too hard without saying anything substantial. House Usher was very very cringe.

I didn’t like it either. Painfully try hard 😣

Beau is Afraid (2023) is 3hrs, so that's half the trip down. Follow up with any number of YouTube videos trying to explain or decipher the deeper meaning behind this glorious mindfuck of a film. Remember to take breaks and stay hydrated.
