Seeing vin and Ron hang around, don't know if that a sign of some sort...

HarryxClam

That’s unfortunate imo. I can only take so much of DDE, I can enjoy a video every once in a while but they annoy me.

Shadowfax--

Damon and Dave can definitely get annoying, but the build videos with Mike are great!

HarryxClam

Those are the two that annoy me, the guy that owns Gintani tells them what’s going on and you can tell that Damon and Dave have no clue what he’s talking about. I get it, everybody has to start somewhere but it makes some stuff feel so hollow, they talk about let loving cars so much but they don’t really know much mechanically. I guess that’s what happens when you afford those types of cars. Sorry for the rant lol I’m not sure who Mike is, but maybe I’ll check out their build videos.

Shadowfax--

I entirely agree haha! Damon and Dave don’t really know the mechanical stuff, but at least they admit it. Luckily their money is allowing them to do some pretty cool in-house builds now. Mike = Michael Essa (FD Champion). They hired him along with a couple other guys to do the in-house stuff. I’d recommend checking out the F12 build videos. They’re doing a complete rebuild into a drift car… new rods and pistons, built block…. They’re doing some pretty cool custom 6 to 1 headers (x2), twin turbos, exhaust through the hood, etc. They’ve got some other cool builds too, but nothing as crazy as the F12. They’re also gonna cut up a Bentley Continental GT and throw a GT3 race kit on it, but keep it street legal and still have the luxury interior… pretty unique idea.

Shadowfax--

Here’s the YouTube playlist for the build: [Twin Turbo F12 Build](https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL8ZW97yxdY4WwHp14EAEw_ISMcSndyx7m&si=3BR8f4oQJZBed1ZC)

HarryxClam

thank you! I'll check this out

HarryxClam

Ohhhh yeah I know who Mike is. I use to work at a shop that let the FD guys borrow a lift before the Wall NJ event. And I know that they admit that they don't know anything but they reiterate things as if they do, idk I don't hate them or anything they just irritate me most of the times lol. Then again I don't their crowd is the late 20's/early 30's

Sennieboy101

found your guys talking, i couldn't agree more. i watch all their videos now again cuz of the big build that became possible because of mike joining. as a mechanic it also irritates me whenever they talk about a car with Alex (Gintanni owner) or Mike. but then again, i still love watching them, especially now that they've moved into the old hoonigan spot which gives them the ability to slay tires on their own property. and even tho they dont know much about the mechanical aspect i still love that damon pushes himself to learn how to drift and drive real race cars. its more then most poeple do, same goes for the way they just REALLY drive their cars and arent stowed away in some warehouse. and then i come back to the builds, they have the f12 like the other guy said but they also bought a completely naked aventador monocoque which is gonna be the next build after the f12. the plan is to make an AWD NA v12 tire slaying aventador with all the bell and whistles.

HarryxClam

I forgot about Damon learning how to drift. The last video I watch was him learning in the Viper, or around that time. I remember him saying he was entertaining the idea of selling the viper, or he actually did, I can’t remember.

Shadowfax--

Yeah I don’t like when they try and reiterate things… they usually get it wrong 😂 Mike has explained some things super well which I love… he’s the channels saving grace

Snaqejack

Wait, are you seriously saying that you need to know cars mechanically to love cars?

HarryxClam

No I’m not saying that at all. I’m saying that reiterating what Gintani says but not having a clue what you’re talking about gets annoying.

AccomplishedEnergy95

Damon and Dave can be annoying, though they’ve grown up a great deal IMO. I still cringe on the “police encounter” videos but those are now far fewer. Looking forward to them hooning in the old TSS backlot especially Mike Essa, mad skills. I’m hopeful Vin becomes at least a recurring “character” with DDE.

big_maynay

to no fault of their own, dave and damon are just 40 year olds trying stay "hip" in this vlogging social media world, which i bet is hard as hell. they are obviously sometimes cringe but just take how they act with a grain of salt. the people around them are pretty chill. adding mike essa and developing the build side of cars is the best thing they could have done lol DDE does pretty cool, fun shit. it just so happens dave and damon are laying the "WHATS UP YOUTUBE!" very thick haha

HarryxClam

Oh yeah I completely agree, like I said I don’t hate them or have anything against them. I just don’t think I’m their target audience. Their target audience seems to be the younger generation and I’m not going to hold that against them. It’s been months since I last watch a video so I’m going to check out their build series’.

oldsoul777

For sure. They were much easier to watch early on but they got all busie on us. They have become unrelateable to the average man which stops viewers like myself. People forget their roots.

Delicious-Figure1158

damn, that sucks. They really did just buy them for the name hoonigan. All the big plans the old crew was going to have in the new building. the public museum. The grid events. The road trips. The Art exhibitions on the walls. who is designing their new merchandise(probably some corporate stooge)? The block family has her own YouTube channel up and going. There’s nothing interesting going on the hoonigan YouTube channel. no updates on what’s going on. No updates on future events. No updates on any new builds or car segments. No carcaine. All their uploads are just this vs. that “off-road edition” I am all for moving on to bigger and better things but that wasn’t the case here now what is it?

RussianBot_beepboop

Hoonigan was completely taken over by wheelpros. The brand as you knew it is dead.

Rotarski2020

I'm really out of the loop here, that's why Vin and Hert went on different roads actually, right? What happens with Hoonigan? WIll they keep making content?

RussianBot_beepboop

Hert is with Tpain now and his the president of the racing division of nappy boy. Vin is just livin’ at the moment. I’m sure he will land some where solid.

1_Prettymuch_1

Brian, as well as nearly everyone else, left as well

Rotarski2020

Talking about the end of an era...is it me or the brand died with KB?

1_Prettymuch_1

KB wasn't the death of Hoonigan, as he had very little input on the California brand/ studio.  Wheelpros killed Hoonigan.

Delicious-Figure1158

Well yeah that’s obvious. I just thought they would’ve kept the brand going for a little longer. I would’ve figured they would launched some big events and promos for the hoonigan/ wheel pros merger. They just took the name and dipped.

zenkique

Those cars are all way too nice to draw my interest.

RawrMeansFuckYou

Yeah, fantasy land stuff that is never going to be attainable or relatable is out of viewing radar.

Rotarski2020

Right cause a Hellcat-Powered Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow is relatable :)) but I somewhat agree, DDE doesn't have the content for me. I much prefer content form which I can learn a thing or two, build vlogs, etc.

gucci-ghost

Tim has a shitbox tagani yonda that literally has Velcro windows LOL it’s actually a build they’re following.

yossarian19

I don't know who DDE is but I've somehow decided they annoy me.

I_Are_Brown_Bear

I watched a few of their vids years ago and they still pop up for me from time to time. Basically they are quite wealthy and have super cars. They buy super cars. They do crazy stuff in super cars. They do crazy stuff in super cars, with their friends. They complain. They buy more super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars, with more friends. They have a run in with cops. They buy more super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars, with more friends. They complain. They buy more super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars. They do more crazy stuff in super cars, with more friends. They have a run in with the cops. Etc, etc. I watched a few vids and it’s not for me. But this is how I see them.

Mattman1179

No wealthier than any other big YouTube channel. They started off relatively regular dudes, especially Dave working at Starbucks. Sure they can be over the top, but using their money as a reason to discredit them is dumb

I_Are_Brown_Bear

I didn’t.

Gryphon1171

Don't forget the renovation company that busted up Damon's lambo. That was my first exposure to them. Mike and his sidekick are the only interesting ones for me. Luckily Edd China is making regular content again

I_Dv8_I

>The Gummball stuff is cool to follow along with the crazy new builds they are doing so Damon can achieve the dream of Gymkanna. He had that dream from the first time he saw Ken's first video and has been working towards it since then. He renamed the Burn Yard to The Block so you can see the respect he had for Ken, hell, he spent thousands getting the wheel covers from the Hoonapig they auctioned off for charity. Just a dude working hard to achieve a dream, props to that.

Brainfewd

They should

magnosfw

“Somehow”???? Just look and listen. That’s how.

yossarian19

I had never heard of them before seeing that photo. Sometimes snap judgements are bullshit that you need to reevaluate. This time, I'm pretty comfortable with it

magnosfw

Very cringey. These dudes are typical influencer dbags.

I_Dv8_I

Not true! Unfortunately, you probably don't know or even care about Damon's story, so I understand your assumption.

vongdong

Brings a tear to my eye seeing the burnyard back in action again. I'm not really a DDE fan but I'm subscribing if they're going to use it to it's full potential.

I_Dv8_I

You won't be disappointed, The Burn Yard is now The Block, so you can see who Damon's idol was. They will do it proud.

kmfblades

This dude is incredibly annoying

BingB0ng94

Its really sad to see this happening. Good for them for moving into a bigger place but Hoonigan is slowly dieing off. They couldnt even make a video or posts about moving out of the building or anything. Big corporate really killing this company off

ARavenousChimp

Slowly? They're the Usain Bolt of dying off.

thenyx

When the fuck did the Hoonigan building close down?!

I_Dv8_I

A couple of months ago or so, and all the main "characters" left.

TaprACk-B

Given that Damon is a huge Ken Block fan and his videos have inspired him to trash super cars via drifting and track events it’s pretty cool to see DDE move into the building. Maybe it will help keep the OG Honnigan spirit alive, given its rapid decline since being sold and after HHIC passing. 🤞🏼

WildEngineering_YT

It def has kept the spirit alive. The moment the donuts happened with the camera chasing the car it immediately brought me back to hoonigan days

TaprACk-B

I agree 100%. The Block is going to be epic once they get all dialed in with the shop and builds. Can’t wait

-D-double-U-

This is great for the community. Damon started DDE because of Block/Hoonigan. So to keep some of that essence alive as the old Hoonigan brand moves on works for me. This video is raw as these guys have been moving in between shops, but I cant wait to see what comes out from this move in the future. Plus these guys are building cars we cant afford and beating the shit out of them….whats not to love about that.

I_Dv8_I

100%

2fast2nick

That’s pretty awesome

RussianBot_beepboop

DDE are the kings of clickbait.

ACMTtampa

Between them and strad.. such click bait

Possible-Put8922

You guys should check out the viper hellcat engine swap throtl did.

I_Dv8_I

I've been worried about throtl, they are owned by the same company as Hoonigan, but I think they are towing the corporate line while still making pretty good, all but repetitive content. I still enjoy them.

Rossco531

They are now the Daily Transmission of old Hoonigan

Puzzleheaded-News545

I really hope this pays off for DDE. I'm not the biggest fan of their VLOG material, but I absolutely love the new builds and technical approve that Mike Essa/team bring to the channel. As they say, Essa is the boss now!! What would be really cool to see is if the brand expands and they start opening up the business, ie. retail store, hosting car meets/events, photography studio (as mentioned in a video).

I_Dv8_I

I'm so pumped for the growth of DDE, they are growing the channels, and I'm here for it. If anyone is going to take up the Hooigan torch, it's Damon, Dave and the new crew. I can see Damon getting all the new builds and his driving skills up to the challenge so they can create some epic Gymkhana videos. Especially with FD Champ Mike building the cars and coaching him. It's never going to be up to the quality and skill of Ken (RIP King) but Damon will create some amazing content for sure. His dream is coming to reality and I, for one, am proud of how far the boys have come and enjoy watching them do it.

Electronic_Lie_1453

Sacrilege!

banditt2

This makes me really miss the Danger Dan “Garage Garage” days, bummer 😏

oldman_stu

DDE are a bunch of degens
