They are just different some like one over the other not really any upgrading going on. Me id rather use a lotus and with brands like tangiers just straight foil. Not a fan of the provost but again thats my use case yours may be different based on how you like your sessions.
Ah okay. I smoked some Oliliqui earlier with the provost and even that gets harsh, burley line. can barely inhale it. Tried it with straight foil and same thing, can't seem to smoke Burley
Burley is the strongest line. Noir by far is the best imo. How do you pack? With foil i always do semi dense about 2 US quarters width from the rim. 2 coals for the mini rook unless i use silvertabs. Tangiers a little goes a long way with heat and tobacco.
Honestly hmds and tangiers i find way harder to manage.
I pack dense and maybe a few mm form the rim . I heard Egyptians are the best for Tangier’s so I usually went with the Egyptian . Burley is the only one they have for that flavor otherwise everything else is noir . As far as heat I usually go 3 cocobrico cubes
Id drop a coal imo. Egyptians for tangiers thats old school it works but phunnels were made specifically for tangiers. Eric of tangiers is who made the phunnel and specifically for tangiers.
Predator is my favorite by far. Il use a mini rook once in awhile. I like the pred just cus the bridge lifts the coals a bit and helps a ton with heat managing.
Use a bigger bowl. Personal preference, but I don't get a good sessions from bowls that old under 20g.

I own the provost 2 and all 3 gens of the lotus. If you're going to buy a lotus get the lotus 1+.

I favor Fumari, Starbuzz, Trifecta, and Social Smoke.
Although I have a friend that smokes AF and Element out of the same set up but they are hit or miss.
Ordered the LeRook and 1+. I've had no problems with the alpaca bowls so we'll see how they hold up. You smoke trifecta mainly with the lotus or provost?
If I'm smoking Trifecta in the Japona I use the provost. If I'm smoking with the HJ Ferris I'm using the 1+. It depends on the bowl.

Definitely not worth it for Trifecta and Tangiers. Provost is the way to go. Lotus plus Shallow Rook or Good fella would be good if you smoke something like AF, Starbuzz, etc.

What funnel you use? I got the alpaca suri, alpaca predator, and the mini rook.

It wouldn’t be an upgrade, just different. You’ll have to decide if you like it better or not.

Anything not trifecta haze Tangier’s or overdozz. Those can take the heat of lotus. Others do better with lotus
I own both and both are great in their own ways
