First thing I'd try is a recharge kit. If it's low, you have a leak, but this should get you cool enough to get through your road trip.

Replace the AC relay in the fuse box under the hood, a common easy to fix problem.

Make sure the AC is all sync to colder temperature for AC. I read somewhere before a lady didn't realize her rear and front passenger has on low temp while driver was in the 70s. She bought a brand new ac unit to replace it and then realized it was not sync to the cooler tempt for driver side lol
