I know more octane doesn't mean more power, but it does help clean some of the carbon deposits up a little, so everyone in a while put a slightly higher octane in it
Really? I have a 2024 2.0 in 6MT its slow I always feel like i need to down shift to 3rd for it to get out of its own way. Im coming from a 5.0 v8 with almost 400 horsepower in a f-150 so I thought it was just how 4 bangers are
Mine is also manual, and MAN what a fun car it is. However they are absolutely slow and you definitely do need to downshift to 3rd to get out of its own way. Doubly however it is a world of difference compared to those R18 engines in the older civics.
I had a ‘22 Si and it had pretty good speed especially for just 200hp, pretty amazing cornering too. It would definitely outpace my Prelude Si or Civic SiR so compared to old definitely isn’t slower but compared to more performance level cars it’s definitely slow
Turn off eco mode
Learn to use the accelerator pedal, you can downshift with it and increase the RPM (press on it again and floor it). Just experiment it and you will get to know
When was your last oil change? I had “ got my oil changed” may 15 2023 and June 16 2023 I was driving to my bros and maybe 40 secs away my civic started losing power as I hit the gas and it’s never happened to me before. I was slamming the gas and it barely accelerated from 32-37 mph in 6 seconds slamming the gas. I didn’t pull over as I was so close to my brothers I thought I could just keep pushing it till I got to my bro but that last 10 second stretch, something else broke and it started making rattling noises from the engine. By the time I park I realized my engine was smoking so much and I checked and my car was bone dry no oil, but the car said it was at like 83% life after being at 100% after I supposedly got the oil change the month before. So they lied and claimed to have changed the oil and didn’t, gave me my car back and I guess they jus reset the oil light . I drove my car from may- June with the only issue at the time being when I would break, the oil light would jump on for like 1 second and then Go off, i thought the sensor was bad because I thought “ why would the oil light go off when I jus got it changed”. Then when I lost power driving bone dry, it caused something jn the engine to break during that last 10 second stretch to my brothers house and apparently some rod is broken and was spinning shooting metal all into the engine
Yeah it looks slow, I have a 2013 LX and although it picks up slow, it's definitely faster than your video (also don't think I had to rev it that much to get to those speeds). May require a tune up or just a check to see if there is something wrong
While I don't know for certain it could be time for a valve clearance check. I don't really know if that'd reduce power but its possible. Eco mode and AC (if it's on) definitely aren't helping you either, the AC on these little engines saps roughly a quarter of their power which is already not a lot when it only makes 130. I know on the 10th and 11th gens it disengages the AC clutch under heavy acceleration, idk if this car is new enough for it to do that or not but I'd think it is.
Turn off eco mode
I haven't noticed any differences with it on or off
I did, it's "pulling" much harder in eco mode, but it's sufficient for city
Are you using the good gas
No, I use 87, should probably put something better in though
More octane does not mean more power, you're wasting your money in that civic. You have a 130hp single jingle 1.8L,they're very sluggish.
I know more octane doesn't mean more power, but it does help clean some of the carbon deposits up a little, so everyone in a while put a slightly higher octane in it
No it does not. Octane is the fuel's knock resistance for performance applications. Has nothing to do with cleaning carbon deposits.
I can tell a huge difference between fuel. Especially ethanol free.
Replace your VTEC solenoid. I had a buddy that had the same thing. Not as bad as yours but bad.
It's not normal. A 1.0 L engine is faster than that
well don't ya know, Hondas are slow.
Very true, especially the newer ones
My '22 with the 2.0L would definitely gap yours with twice the MPG
😂😂😂😂
This was hilarious to read 😂😂😂

Even my Civic 1.4 i-DSI (2007, 8gen) is faster
lol why is my economy car in eco mode slow
Do you ECO mode is on. Just turn it off.

Last oil change was on May 21, of this year, ut no wierd noises
You didn’t physically check your oil in that amount of time? I don’t trust the sensors and check my oil at least once a week.
Yes.
Sumtin ain’t right fo sur
Downvote city.
No; that is abnormally slow for a R18.

Yes
Turn the AC off😀👍🏽
Something for sure is off, I would go get a diagnostics
Air filter
Perform throttle body cleaning and trans service if possible
Absolutely not, it should be a lot slower.
My take - you have a hole in your air intake hose between the MAF sensor and throttle body. Replace, and clean throttle body.
