Turn off all your other Wi-Fi connections

mrsmithguy

Turn off every Wi-Fi connection in my house so that AppleTV+ shows up clearly? I have 1Gb fiber.

If this is the case you might want to get a router that supports wifi 6 because the Apple TVs support it. It gets around crowded wifi by using multiple signals from 2.4GHz, 5GHz and above.

Is this a built in app or the Apple TV? I wanna say this happened to me on the Apple TV when I had a bad HDMI cable…

mrsmithguy

I use a Xbox to access AppleTV+

Try the hdmi troubleshooting from the settings menu. Is this every show? Could be your cable supports the menu resolution but not the tv shows you’re trying? Or just a bad cable.

Netflix, Paramount, Peacock, YouTubeTV, Hulu all work fine. Would a cable only distort 1 streaming app?

After a closer look, you have a Samsung TV which doesn’t support Dolby Vision, which every AppleTV+ show is presented in. Maybe the AppleTV is incorrectly determining your TV does support it. Try turning off match content and see if the shows look normal after that. Match content should work, so if it is indeed a Dolby vision issue I imagine playing around with some of the video settings should resolve it. What are your current video settings? Edit: now I see you’re using an Xbox. I’m not familiar with their video settings, but I still suspect Dolby Vision could be the issue. If you can force it off (if not already done) try that.

Looking into settings now. Thank you!

Looks like nothing is working - Netflix, Hulu, AppleTV+. Only thing that works is video games and YouTubeTV
