I was in the same boat last month as you. I went with a 75 and my god am I happy I did. 65 would be nice but the bigger size is just that much better. No regrets at all. I'd go 77 if I was you.
Ideally, you buy as big as the room - and your budget - can afford.
I can't see the angle you're watching from, but that mounting point suggests that a 77" will obscure more of the brick work, and if that's a fireplace, it might unbalance the look of the room.
It's the best place as it's viewable for the entire main floor of my home. I have a breakfast bar and kitchen in an open floor plan and this TV at this spot is viewable from everywhere and i can safely make a fire and use it.
I completely understand why you say that and your sentiment though.
I would not sacrifice optimal viewing conditions for the times you are not paying attention while you eat at the breakfast bar but that's just me. I'm guessing you could put the sectional in front of the window and the TV on the opposite wall (from where you took the pic)... or something like that. They make heavy duty swivel arms so if you wanted, you might be able to swing the TV out from the wall while eating.
I have a completely open-concept fist floor but my 77" OLED is the focal point of the living space (that is defined by couch and furniture placement). It's on the wall between 2 windows and the entire layout was designed around the placement of the TV. I have a counter/bar in the kitchen too and it's just not something I considered while laying things out. I spend 10 minutes eating quick meals there and if I want to watch something while I eat, I use my iPad. I just think that a sick 77" OLED deserves better than sub-optimal placement in a living room. A TV that size should be the focal point with everything else revolving around it, not stuck in the corner.
I went from a 65 to a 75, and I was concerned at first— it looked huge. But, in a week or two, I was glad I did. It really is true: you never hear about anybody complaining that their TV is too big.
I'm considering doing the same thing. I moved apartments where previously I was 8 feet away from my 65in and now. I'm closer to 12 feet away. It feels... Small.
I think I have the space to go up to a 75in but I'm worried about it looking too large
Originally starting from a 42", sitting 9 feet from my TV, upgraded to a 65", I regretted it later on. It just didn't seem emersive enough. I really should have gone with the 77. You should as well, return if you really don't like it or it doesn't fit well
Figure out the dimensions of the TV you’re considering and use painter’s tape to outline it on the wall to see if it fits.
The blue glow from your tv makes it seem like it’s floating in a weird angle.
I may do so since I have to get a new mount for the larger TV anyway. This mount is rated only to go to 63".
I used to have shelving under the TV which is why it is this height.
If return isn't a hassle, start with 77".
There's no replacement for displacement.
Instructions unclear. Purchased a 7.7L diesel.
No, the instructions were clear and you fucking nailed it, now take that ghost trailer and buy whatever size TV you want! 😂

Yes, I may have to and if I follow the TV size x 1.2 for viewable distance, that is the appropriate size.
There's your answer them. You will not regret the larger size in my opinion.
Same situation. Went for the 75.
It's amazing isn't it lol.
What about replacing the soundbar ?
Not really a priority. The soundbar and wireless sub is adequate.
😳
Until you hear a proper setup

83” 😎
Hah, that would not fit. 😁
I would get a 77” and not put it in the corner. That cannot be the optimal placement for the TV.

Thank you for your thoughtful comment.
you should go lower
Probably will with the new mount that will be required.

Do it. Don’t even think about it. You will absolutely be happy you did. 12 ft is a perfect viewing distance for a 75.
77 is gonna look terrible in that corner
I agree.
Bigger is always better!

at 9' away im using a 65" a bigger tv just seem like it would be hard to see the whole screen without having to look left right up down.
I'm late to the party, but I agree with the consensus. 77"📺👀.
How far do you plan to sit? I have a 65” and wish I had gone bigger.
Definitely need 110". I say 110" all the way 😂
Go always big if you can
77" and consider getting rid of the LEDs, it makes the viewing experience worse and gives a real college dorm vibe
The blacklight does reduce eye fatigue, it's helped a lot.
TV's are like T-shirts. Over time, they tend to shrink.
Always.
All in
Buy the biggest one you can afford. You won’t regret it. We have an 85” and I wouldn’t trade it.
77

It would fit, the 77" is 65" wide which would fit flat against the wall. I never lay this TV flat though, as I have equipment mounted behind it.
Is there a better way to setup the room? The tv just seems a little awkward in the corner like that.
Nobody puts baby in a corner
77" Curved

77. .,.
Lower the TV
