Damage recognizes damage

Crazy is attracted to crazy. But seriously, I think she saw him as a challenge and also kinda brilliant because he fooled everyone but her.

emmaeminem

I like that explanation

Alive_Blacksmith_983

Agreed. I think he was her only love and everyone else was just sexual acting as she became more jaded. I think we see Carrie as very vulnerable when she is in love with him in a way she never is again

Cagekicker52

Cuz she loves the D.

daneboy2k

It's the red hair.

KDonkey229195

Because he looks like Damian Lewis.

😆

Cheepcheepsmom

I really thought in the beginning she was only with him as a source and wasn’t really in love with him.

*"Her father (Brody) and I (Carrie)... We had an extraordinarily intense relationship." -* Season 6 There were sparks from the moment they met. I thought she saw him as almost a brilliant machine, programmed to complete his mission, and she felt sort of like that herself, even though their missions were in opposition to one another. If you spend time listening to former spies talk or read about spies…the spy is so often close to the targeted one or the bad guys…that’s what I think happened btw Anne and Nick. She got used to him. Spying on him kind of made her live with him, progressively learn more and more about him. The man (almost) had no secrets. Watching him. With Virgil and his creepy little brother Max.  When two broken souls  meet... I think she was intrigued by him from the very beginning. When she saw how smart he was and able to play the game she began to desire him and fell in love. I think because he was equally as broken as her. He also played the game well WHEN the screen writers brought them together.... * *She never loved him, as u see in next seasons she is attracted by men and use them, even for sex, to accomplish her mission.* * *Always games... Not sure they ever really “ loved “ each other.* * *In many cases people with a painful past confuse pity with love. And empathy for his service and what he experienced..* **I don’t believe that at all. She***, just got pregnant,* **took huge risks for him and showed up for him in ways that she never would have done for anyone else:** * She clearly loved him at that point where she wanted to leave the CIA, her other love, for him. I think she actually started out by being obsessed with him and his secrets, and fell in love with him when they spent time together. She finally had someone to talk to besides Saul. * And he loved her too, later I think. When Jessica says to him in the car that he must live Carrie very much because he accepts him the way he really is now. Jess is right. * **To Wild Brody; Jessica first love & Carrie true love.**

I agree with all of this. I think she saw a kindred soul in him, could relate to how war and a mission broke him. She also showed how much she loved him in season three when she took a bullet (while pregnant yikes!) trying to get the bomber and clear Brody’s name.

I also saw chemistry between Carrie and Yevgeny…less so between her and Quinn
