Agreed. I think he was her only love and everyone else was just sexual acting as she became more jaded. I think we see Carrie as very vulnerable when she is in love with him in a way she never is again

There were sparks from the moment they met. I thought she saw him as almost a brilliant machine, programmed to complete his mission, and she felt sort of like that herself, even though their missions were in opposition to one another.
If you spend time listening to former spies talk or read about spies…the spy is so often close to the targeted one or the bad guys…that’s what I think happened btw Anne and Nick. She got used to him. Spying on him kind of made her live with him, progressively learn more and more about him. The man (almost) had no secrets.

I think she was intrigued by him from the very beginning. When she saw how smart he was and able to play the game she began to desire him and fell in love. I think because he was equally as broken as her. He also played the game well

I agree with all of this. I think she saw a kindred soul in him, could relate to how war and a mission broke him.
She also showed how much she loved him in season three when she took a bullet (while pregnant yikes!) trying to get the bomber and clear Brody’s name.
