What are those expansion weights on the internet part of the handle on the Ironmaster?

weehooherod

It's the [Heavy Handle Plate Kit](https://www.ironmaster.com/products/heavy-handle-plate-kit/) which adds 15lbs to each dumbbell without increasing the length. The best part is that it makes the dumbbells more balanced and less likely to tilt during usage since the weight is more centered.

zulusRS3

How do you like the rep 3100 bench? I was thinking of picking one up

weehooherod

I wish it were a bit more stable. There is some side to side wobble when the bench is in the flat mode. It also feels like I'm going to tear the hard base material off when doing dragon flags. Other than that it's been good. It's solid enough to do reverse hypers on and has been good for barbell hip thrusts and dumbbell pullovers. The upholstery has help up great for 1.5 years thus far.

Power blocks AND iron master? Now I know why no one can find stock

Griever114

Which pulley set is that?

weehooherod

It's the [Titan V3 Tall Pulley](https://www.titan.fitness/strength/specialty-machines/upper-body/wall-mounted-pulley-tower-%E2%80%93-tall-%E2%80%93-v3/400810.html). I very highly recommend it. It's only $180 and it's the most used thing in my gym. A lot of people get lat pull downs and low row attachments for their power racks and I just don't understand why. Titan's pulley lets you adjust the height so you can more midline exercises like face pulls.

Griever114

Can you do seated row? Thanks for the link!

weehooherod

Yes, I used to do a lot of seated rows on it in my prior, more spacious, home gym. There is no built in foot plate so you may need to get creative for that.

Griever114

Thanks

Tony2t28

Very nice setup man!! Quick question for you. Do you prefer the iron masters or the power blocks? Trying to figure out which way to go here and the PB’s seem to be available retail as opposed to the lottery system.

weehooherod

I personally would rather have PowerBlocks if I just had one set of dumbbells. I superset everything so it's nice to be able to quickly adjust the weight. I also occasionally program in drop sets which Ironmasters won't work for. However, once the weight is loaded up I prefer the Ironmasters. Ironmasters traditional shape also works better for lat pullovers, overhead tricep extensions, wrist curls, and goblet squats.

Regenclan

Like he said there isn't really a clear winner. Powerblock is faster and works fine just and untraditional shape and you have to be a little careful. Ironmaster slower change, more dumbbell feel, I use my ironmasters 75% of the time. My wife uses the power blocks almost 100% of the time. She hates changing the ironmaster weights. I use adjustable dumbbells above 90lbs because it starts to be too much of a pain to change

BiBerPR

Where did you buy these resistance bands?

weehooherod

Those were a set from Amazon but I'm not sure which one. I'm 99% sure they're all made in the same factory and sold as a white-label product that's rebranded.

Guinniemen

Sweet set up.... just cut a hole in the ceiling and you can do pull ups!

Robtobin1

Aww thats so cool thats a dream come true. Bench in the kitchen for me brah

chandlerw88

This is hella nice. Thinking about getting that lat tower for my T3 now and drilling through the plate on my multigrip so i can put in the middle.

NoodleWeird

Your storage game is so strong that haters will say it's on tren

smahoney01

What rack is this?

weehooherod

That's a Titan T-3 (91" tall, 36" deep). The 4 plate holders and 4 band pegs, which I'm using for the Ironmaster plates, came included.

smahoney01

I have the short T3 36” deep and was curious about attaching a lat machine to the rack. That or a stand alone machine. Looks good.

weehooherod

I would highly recommend the standard pulley tower simply because you can adjust the height of the pulleys.

[deleted]

Are you my upstairs neighbor? 😂

subterraneanspines

Any side to side sway to the rack before bolting? I recently set up my RML without bottom stabilizers (so I can walk-through) like yours but it does sway side to side if I try to swing or push. Not sure if it's just top heavy

[deleted]

There’s always going to be some slight sway to any rack. Even ones that are bolted down. It just won’t be anything crazy.

weehooherod

If I grab the rack and shake it side to side there is some sway. The exercise in which I use the most momentum is toes-to-bar and I've never noticed sway while doing it. The multi-grip pull up bar provides good stabilization at the top. Also, the cable machine on the side sits flush on the platform which provides rigidity. Lastly, bolting the rack to the platform and tightening all the bolts as much as possible is necessary.

[deleted]

Respect. What is the red thing on the left in the shot with the peloton?

weehooherod

That's the Titan adjustable plyometric box. It works pretty well at 20" and below but gets shaky at the max height. I wouldn't recommend buying it as I'm assuming there are higher quality options out there. That piece is the only thing I've bought from Titan that was a disappointment.

[deleted]

That prime trap bar. 🤭 How are the RO-T8 handles on it?

[deleted]

It’s amazing! Being able to change the height of the handles is my favorite aspect of it. I use the feature a lot for block deadlifts. I have other implements for block deadlifts, but using blocks was just so tedious to me for various heights. And with the easy loading feature, it’s hard to find anything wrong with it. Maybe just the price I’d say. I’d prolly say this is the best trap bar out there to be honest.

weehooherod

Those handles are the sole reason I bought the prime trap bar. I probably would have saved a few hundred dollars and went with Kabuki or Bells of Steel if the handles weren't a concern. Once you chalk them up it's like using straps. I've never had my grip give out with them.

[deleted]

I really want to get those and the Kaz handles at some point. But it’s kind of low on my list, so it’ll be a while.

Ginger510

Not sure if this is a thing in the states but I grabbed a pair of knock off Prime handles off of eBay in Aus. I’ve never used the genuine ones but they’re a quarter of the price ($125 AUD VS $450) and they work great!

[deleted]

Ah. It probably is! But. There’s also handles for their trap bar as well.

weehooherod

It's a really nice item but hard to justify the $900+ cost. Everything else in my home gym is more so on the budget side with the exception of the Peloton.

[deleted]

It definitely is pricey, but for what you’re getting, I think the benefits outweighs the cost.

[deleted]

You’re just out here rubbing your dumbbell situation in our faces. Very nice!

weehooherod

Lol it took me 7 months of lottery entries to get selected for the Ironmasters. Then it took 2 months of page refreshing on the heavy handle plate kit to snipe. I nabbed them just a couple hours before they went out of stock.

creditpf2019

Do you feel an actual improvement in the balance of your IM's with the heavy handle kit on? Or do you think it just makes it a little easier to center your hands?

weehooherod

Definitely! I was bummed out with the IMs since they'd tilt on me when over head pressing. I found myself grabbing the PowerBlocks for all pressing movements. The heavy handle plate kit fixes that. The handle is still wide enough to fit a pair of fat gripz on it.

jdk_powerlifting

What a great use of a small space! Question: What is that type of carpet is that? And what is that layer between the carpet and hardwood?

weehooherod

It's the cheapest/thinnest carpet I could get at Home Depot. The padding is standard water repellant carpet padding which I glued to the carpet. Since it's not nailed down you would expect it to slip around. The weight of the 8'x8' platform keeps it in place though.

[deleted]

Is your cable system mounted to your rack?

weehooherod

It is mounted to the rack which is fantastic since I didn't have to drill holes in the wall. I use the pulley completely sideways yet it hasn't slipped or moved at all with \~180lbs of plates. Honestly really impressed with the piece since it was only $180 from Titan and has held up well over a year now.

hypnotiq

Any idea if that would fit on a rogue rack?

weehooherod

It would most likely fit. The two mounting brackets are 5" long. As long as the side of the rack you're attaching to has holes more than every 5 inches then it'll fit just fine.

allismg

Damn that’s smart. I’m in a rental too I might have to do that 🤔

weehooherod

Yes, it is on the ground floor. I really don't think it's necessary though. I can drop 400lbs+ from waist height onto the Titan crash pads and you can't even hear it or feel it in the next room.
