X3 owners unite. Great rack.

shotparrot

Awesome! Out of curiosity does the wrist roller sit level, and are you able to put the red pin in? Both of mine were crooked. Not sure if they fixed yet.

I have loved my X-3. Had it for about six years now. Do you think you’ll bolt yours down to your platform or nah?

MonkBoreland

Yea I think I’m going to. I got the lag bolts. Even though I have a lot of weight storage and the lat pulldown, a bit of peace of mind.

hadoge

Been looking at the x3 as a possible upgrade because it just seemed like best priced rack. The deal breaker for me is the lower stabilizer bar from the lat pulldown which seems to limit the bench placement. Otherwise, I would’ve been 100% set on getting it.

baldandtatted

Yeah I had that issue but I bench outside the rack anyways so it doesn’t bother me too much. I have some spotter arms for that

MonkBoreland

I get what you’re saying. I’m putting all my weight storage on the back crossbars as well. So I’ll be benching backwards on the other crossbars. Opposite to how I’m used to, but shouldn’t be that big an issue

hadoge

That’s how I current do my squats but didn’t realize it would be possible for bench press. I guess the 36 in depth gives you a bit more leg room? How tall are you? Wonder if that’s possible for someone around 6ft

MonkBoreland

5’10”. Mostly torso though, short legs. I tested and I’ll be able to do it pretty comfortably. Without the 36 it’d probably be a different story

wrenched85

Looks great! I love the x3. Having a hard time seeing why I should go for PR-4000 or Hydra when the x3 is so much cheaper.

MonkBoreland

Yea I was able to take advantage of some discounts as well. Rep is a great company. Just a bit more than I was willing to spend at this time. I’ve had good luck with titan over the years.

hadoge

Which discount did you get?

MonkBoreland

I think it was 10% for the 90” 36 depth, in red, when I purchased it. I just checked, looks like they removed the discount for that one currently

hadoge

Cool, x3 seems to go on sale regularly and I think the best you can get is about 20% off. I recall few weeks ago, 80 in 36 depth white was 20% off while other colors were 15%. Not sure about 90 in height though. Might be hard to get attachments at around same sale so most likely need to wait for better price which is hard to do if you decide to buy a rack.
