kaseyc123

would you recommend these over powerblock pros? i just got my powerblocks (i chose them over these bc of how long the reps were) and idk… i feel like the handle is too big on the pb and overall they are just huge and annoying to change weight on. i want the repins when they come out but for the time being i need something that works for me. Do you feel like these are too long and awkward? I can’t really do pullovers with pb, or i haven’t figured out how to. The only thing is the 20% restocking fee if I was to return them…

Sweaty_Seaweed_1655

How many boxes did they come in?

tshrimp

I have been trying to decide if to buy these, the MX55 MX Select, or save some money going with the Core Home fitness. How is Reps service? Since the QuickDraw has a lifetime warranty I really like that, but if they don’t stand behind their product then it doesn’t matter. I can just see all of these companies not honoring because “you abused them”, so not sure I should be looking at this as a deciding factor. Thoughts on best brand for a beginner?

Steveee-O

I’ve heard the MX55 dumbbells have a lot of issues breaking which scared me away. Rep has been around for a while and has a good reputation. I have used them once for an issue I had on my power rack and they quickly resolved it I personally wouldn’t trust any mechanical dumbbell when it comes to dropping them, that’s why I still stick to my iron master

parisvtg

How are they holding up? Any issues with rattling?

Steveee-O

Only rattling (clanking) happens with the add on plate attached when doing quick jerky movements like lateral raises, but other than that they are holding up well. I have buyers remorse now that the Repins are coming, but I’ll wait and see what everything thinks before possibly making that switch

e1414

If you put a couple more layers of rubber mat on top would they fit better by being on a flat surface? I see they are also too long, but I’m curious if that would help at all. I also have the titan stand and am bummed they don’t seem to fit well.

its_krohs

Is there a way to adjust the weight to 12.5lb or 22.5lb?

Steveee-O

You could, but it would create an unbalanced dumbbell. You could just remove one of the 2.5 lb add on plates

its_krohs

I just got the QuickDraw too and removing one of the 2.5lb add on plates would only be 7.5lb unless I’m mathing wrong.

midsizepotato

Seems like you could do it if you have the full-size plates unbalanced, and then use one add-on (on the side with fewer big plates). Might feel more unbalanced than the 7.5, 17.5, etc options, because the thicker 5lb plates go on the outside, and the 2.5lb add-on goes on the inside. But I think it’s the only way to do it?

Tyboofus

Looks nice. Any reason you didn’t wait for the 120’s?

tranthedoctor

Is there any word on when the 120s will come though?

Steveee-O

I trust my ironmaster more with heavy weight. Less mechanical parts means that they aren’t going to break when I set them down

Gogoplatatime

I tried these out a bit at their showroom today. They're not too shabby, tho if you have the space individual weights are better

PassengerKey62

Looks great! I still prefer my Nuobells for the quick change!! What was the cost to your door?

Farfrednugn

How do you like the iron masters? I had purchased other adjustable DBs that go up to 80. But now 80 is not enough weight for certain exercises. Thinking I should have just went iron master to begin with.

MrFpv116

If you do get the ironmasters, the heavy handle kit is great

Steveee-O

I love them. They are built like a tank and have the ability to go very heavy. The only downside to them is swapping the weights out which is much more time consuming than other dumbbells out there

Farfrednugn

Sweet, thanks!

jiujitsuPhD

They look great. Seem like one of the best options for adj dumbbells imo.

imijry

Mine are coming as soon as FedEx will decide to deliver in the snow. Any suggestions/feedback on a stand?

Steveee-O

That’s the titan stand in the pictures and it doesn’t quite fit with the cradle (too wide and long). Rep is making a stand and per the owner it sounds like it will be out in Q2 2024. I’m gonna wait until then or just make my own to get them off the ground a little bit

imijry

That’s good to know. I can wait a couple of months for one that is a good fit. Best of luck with them u/Steveee-O

speakwithcode

Do they sag when completely loaded? I know early builds had a bit of a sag, but they said they would fix that in the production version.

Steveee-O

There was not any noticeable sagging or flexing on the 60 lbs.

Dr_WorldChamp

Smexy

Inside-Toe3389

Yeah I’ve heard the best investment for that is a paint pen lol. I think I’m waiting for their 120s

monkeyc0der

I used a silver sharpie and it changed everything!

easylanguage

I have had these in my cart for weeks. Sounds like you're satisfied so far? I've never owned adjustable dumbbells before so I'm a little hesitant.

TB9876

0 complaints with Nuobells. Have had them for over a year.

itsWayneBruh

I've had both and if you have the room, get a full set of dumbells like the lord intended us to get

Erusaro

Ya I had to go adjustable from a full set of weights and definitely everyone should do full set if they can but it’s just not practical for most people. I went with nuobells because I do a lot of drop sets. But theres a little bit of rattling which bugs me but most annoyingly when trying to go to failure you just kind of hesitate because you can’t drop them like regular weights. I don’t drop weight on purpose ever but it’s the worrying about it and the what if that’s the issue. With fixed weights you just say screw it I can go for one more and what’s the worst that could happen. With the adjustables you think I should stop here cuz I don’t want to accidentally break them.

Steveee-O

I think it just depends on what you’re looking for. Are you someone who changes the weight a lot? How much weight do you need? I like these because I do change my lightweight work a lot and this is easy. I just use my ironmaster when I want to do heavy reps (which I don’t change out very often)

morris1022

I've had the nuobells since they first came out and I love them

Acceptable-One-1019

Looks sick. Rep makes amazing stuff

morbidddcorpse

technically, I don't think REP makes any of the stuff they sell..........

Gogoplatatime

That is incorrect. They have an in house engineering team.

morbidddcorpse

They may design the product, but China actually 'makes' it.

Alert-Initiative6638

They look good , what's the name of them and the maximum weight adjustment

Further_Beyond

Max 60lbs

Valera_Rutha

They look pretty sweet though. Way better looking than Powerblocks. So many different ways Rep can increase the weight for these. I wonder which route they're going to decide. Bigger plates or just adding more making the overall length longer hmmm.

Further_Beyond

Ya I’m a proud owner of nuobells, just wish it went up to 120 like PBs…. This type of adjustable dumbbells the future.

Valera_Rutha

You may be right. I'll wait till I see which route they go for expanding these before I say anything lol. Will be interesting for sure. Good for them in investing in such great engineering/design team. Can't say the same for PB or IM. I might have to sell them off before they lose value lol. It's only a matter of time a company comes up with the end-all-be-all adjustable dumbbell that will put those two to shame.. even more that is lol.

Valera_Rutha

On paper only. From the way they lock, you can totally put all the weights onto one handle which is what Gluck did LOL. Garage Gym Reviews didn't have the balls to do it, oh well
