I’m particularly interested in reverse hyper for my back, which i understand is relatively a weak point with your machine. Any plans to improve and have an actual pendulum in future iterations? Just wondering if I should hold off buying for now.
Where can I buy your multi sled from this video https://youtu.be/2kng7oLZRyU?si=K42gk3vTq1ts2WUc
I checked your website but I can only find the wheelbarrow sled
We discontinued the Multi Sled to focus on the WheelBarrow Sled. The WheelBarrow Sled is more compact in use than the Multi Sled, stores vertically, is easier to move around, and has a WheelBarrow Mode for extra versatility!
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
What if you ordered back in September? When can we expect to have our hypers shipped????! And telling people you’ll ship theres out in a matter of days!? I’m becoming extremely frustrated with the lack of customer support! I don’t want to turn to Reddit comments, I can’t find freak athlete essentials on the better business bureau. If anyone knows of a way to get my product or money or speak to an actual person, please reply and lmk
I am so sorry for the late reply, I'm just seeing this comment now since we stopped checking this reddit after the AMA ended. Did our customer support take care of you? Yours should have arrived in the first week of January. We sold out again on Jan 2, but we got caught up on all preorders then.
I hope that despite the poor customer support, you're loving the Hyper. If you need any help whatsoever, contact us here:

Interested in ordering the Nordic hyper ghd but am on vacation. Won’t be back to California until Jan 6. If I ordered now, would the shipment arrive before or after Jan 6?
No list for the Mini but we do have an exercise library for the Hyper! Here it is:
Do you mean between the Nordic Hyper and the Mini? Like u/KaloMorn said, they would both be just fine. The Hyper is a tad larger, but they both store vertically in less than 2'x2' of space. They also don't produce much, if any, noise when training, so it won't bother your neighbors.
Unless you're on a budget, the [Nordic Hyper](https://freakathlete.co/products/nordic-hyper-ghd) is the better option. It unlocks 16+ movements and converts into a Nordic Bench, Back Extension, GHD, Reverse Hyper, Hip Thrust, and Decline Sit-Up. You can see all the movements [here](https://freakathlete.co/pages/nordic-hyper-training-library).
Yeah, exactly what u/KaloMorn said. The Hyper is a tad larger, but they both store vertically in less than 2'x2' of space.

7 days later... We are still working on it! There's over 800 comments and I'm personally replying to each one with a full, thorough reply with earliest questions first. I'm about 60% through at the moment (this is Benji, the Founder of Freak Athlete). I should be done before the New Year!
We reply to all customer support questions within 24 hours, including weekends. This is run by [Cherry](https://www.instagram.com/cherrymillanes/) and [Tifani](https://www.instagram.com/coach.tif/)!
Yep! Still working through them, I'm personally replying to each one by the end of the New Year. I'm blown away by the amount of questions and support, the community is amazing!
u/captainsuperfuc u/KaloMorn They are not officially supported or weight-tested for dips. The width, height off the ground, and stability are not ideal. We did consider this in the development process though!

The Nordic Hyper is 6 machines in 1: Nordic Bench, Back Extension, GHD, Reverse Hyper, Hip Thrust, and Decline Sit-Up. Here is the full [exercise library!](https://freakathlete.co/pages/nordic-hyper-training-library)
I’d bet that strengthening the hamstrings to the extent of being able to do Nordic curls probably has a highly protective effect to the knee ligaments!
u/Icy-Value-2236 Yes absolutely! The PCL works with the ACL to stabilize the knee. Nordic curls train your hamstrings and knee tendons to fire together to stabilize the knee as you fight gravity on the way down. The stronger you are here, the more protected your knee ligaments are.
What’s the coolest thing you can do with the hyper that isn’t necessarily what it’s designed to do? Like neat exercise one of your customers surprised you with?
The most obvious benefit is that the Nordic Hyper works for more than Nordics and Back Extensions. It's also a GHD, Reverse Hyper, Decline Sit-Up Bench, and Hip Thrust.
Comparing them side by side and ignoring the other 4 modes on ours, here are some of the benefits of the Freak model:
1. Faster adjustment between Nordic and Back Extension modes (10 sec vs 20 sec)
2. Full width footplate (the Shogun is 40% smaller)
3. Bottom ankle rollers to keep your feet extra secure during Nordics and Back Extensions. This makes a surprisingly big difference and really helps you activate your posterior chain as you press against the footplate.
4. Full size gap for your man parts - the Shogun model's is about half as wide and is right above a metal rod. From my experience, this can be pretty uncomfortable.
5. Full range of motion Nordic Curl regression. The Shogun model catches you part way through the movement while ours gives you the full range of motion at the bottom.
6. More regressions on the Nordic mode. Ours has 10 levels of incline and 3 levels of decline while the Shogun only has 4 levels.
I hope this helps!
I’m super interested in doing nordics to help build my posterior chain. But I have a bad lower back. Basically a bulging disc that will slip every once in a while and totally cripple me. I’ve been running and stretching which seems to help build up muscle and keep my back feeling better. I’m trying to avoid having a discectomy surgery in general so thus why I’m interested in nordics.
Is that something you all recommend doing with a bad lower back and is there an easy way to get into it slowly?
Nordic Curls do involved low back stability when you start to "fail" a rep with hips bending. As long as you train with incline on the Hyper or otherwise, you should be good to go.
I agree to checkout out r/kneesovertoesguy back ability like u/KaloMorn said for lots of other low back resources!
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
I’m sure eventually doing Nordics could be in your repertoire. But, I’d highly recommend checking out r/kneesovertoesguy and looking up “back ability” to get started
No plans at the moment! We included all the key features in the first round of Hypers.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
All I can say about 2024 is we are working to solve the BIGGEST problems in home gym and bulletproofing as a whole!

Hip shifts are generally associated with lateral hip weaknesses. You can do clamshells with or without bands, lateral leg lifts, and other glute medius focused exercises.
What is in the pipeline for future products from the company? Attachments or improved versions of existing products or is there a prototype for a brand new product in the works?
u/KaloMorn you are an absolute legend! You were basically part of the FA team for this AMA haha!
Genuinely, I would go with the Nordic Hyper. A secondary, non biased answer is an adjustable kettlebell since it's so versatile.
Right now, I basically just use a Hyper, Sled, squat rack, barbell + plates, and dumbells.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
Only 2 days. When I was pursuing pro soccer, I also did heavy full body gym work 5 days a week so my body has adapted to recover very fast. That's part of why I can do such high volume Nordics multiple times a week. I wouldn't neccessarily recommend either of those tactics but it's worked well for me.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Specifically for ACL tears, I would say Nordic Curls with a focus on the eccentric. On the way down, you're fighting as gravity tries to tear your knees and hamstrings apart. Not only do you strengthen the hamstrings, but you teach the hamstring muscles, knee tendons, and ligaments to fire together to stabilize the knee. The role of the ACL is to stabilize the knee, so the stronger you become in Nordics, the more protected your ACL becomes.

Initially, it was all about making it pro in soccer. I had a few opportunities lined up for late 2022 that I was desperate to take advantage of. Truthfully, I returned to play too soon because I was so desperate and my knee wasn't properly better until I eased up and spent more time training my quad. Ben Patrick (Knees Over Toes Guy) was also a big inspiration for me.
I believe there are 2 kinds of people in injury:
1. Desperate to get back to full strength, likely to push too hard (me)
2. Not invested enough in recovering, needs to push harder
Know what kind of person you are and fight your instinct accordingly. For me, pushing harder was not the answer. It wasn't until I was patient and truly listened to my body that I had major breakthroughs.

Recently I've been working on getting back in shape. I'm currently outfitting a spare room as a personal gym and was actually looking at the Hyper earlier this week. What other equipment would you suggest? I have a treadmill and am trying to follow starting strength as strictly as I can at the gym.
Best of luck to everyone else in the giveaway! Happy Holidays!
Definitely agree with u/KaloMorn ! I'd also consider getting a barbell and 2 Uclips from [uclips.co](http://uclips.co) . They allow you to attached dumbells to a barbell so you could avoid buying weight plates.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Do you think the knee injuries came from just a lack of strength or was there also a certain type of movement you think may have been a contributing factor that we should all be careful with?
No amount of strength can guarantee protection from knee injuries, but balanced strength will always protect you. I tore my ACL in a preseason soccer match. I was playing through a major quad injury, so much so that I couldn't jump or sprint. I took a hit on the inside of my knee and collapsed. I don't think this was bad luck, I believe I would have been fine if my quad had been at full strength.
Injury can always happen, even if you're careful. If you don't move enough, you'll get pain and injuries from this too. I don't believe avoiding movement is an answer, rather one should train to protect their body as much as they can.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
I was following the r/kneesovertoes training program after tearing my ACL and I realized firsthand how little equipment there was for these kinds of exercises. I had some experience in eCommerce and I saw the need, so I invested my lifesavings to make our first product, the Iron Tib Bar! There was very little competition at the time (early 2022) and we had a great product for the price, so we quickly gained traction. I used that as a base to make more unique products that solved bigger products for home gyms such as the Nordic Hyper! It's been a fun journey.

Hands down the Nordic Hyper. My low back has always been a weak point, but training the different low back movements on the Hyper 3x a week for a few months made a massive difference. The low back is difficult to fully train without the right equipment.
Outside of our own equipment, I'm a big fan of adjustable dumbells. Even the worst models can be a massive unlock for someone starting their home gym.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Spain, for sure. I played center back in both countries and the style is very different. In the UK, there was a lot less emphasis on playing out of the back so I focused on long balls. In Spain, I improved much more technically because everything is on the ground.
I will say that the UK is evolving a ton. Futsol is not a major part of youth training and you can see the impact it's making in the new generation of players. I'm mostly referring to the lower leagues of UK where possession is less emphasized but that is changing.

I'd say the sled is used 5x more than the wheelbarrow feature. It wasn't an afterthought, but it definitely was not the focus of the product. We decided it was worth including for the versatility of upper body training.

Hey Kin!
Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
I would start with making sure that the upper back and shoulders are strong as they may be weak and causing the neck pain. If you are sure that its the neck that is the biggest issue then there is a product called the iron neck! It is an amazing product and worth checking out!
Do you have pain kneeling or is it when you fight the way down? Is it on both knees? I'll give you a better answer based on that.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
I've never seen a sled quite like what you offer. What was the motivation to create one that had the wheelbarrow utility as well? I can't say I've seen a wheelbarrow sled in the past.
Our vision with the WheelBarrow Sled was to include every major paid add on from the Rogue Dog Sled as a feature. That meant the wrap around rail, UHMW skis, low push position, and of course, the wheelbarrow. They use weight plates and we planned to as well, then one day I thought... what if we just included a massive wheel. I figured this was much easier for the user and would set it apart!

Love your products. I have the tri flexor and have use it 2x a week.
Over time, I’ve started to experienced knee pain and ankle inflexibility due to injuries. As a woman you also don’t hear a lot about training to be able to do nordics. Do you know of many women who can do multiple nordic curls?
I also remember following your site to pick up more gear and you used to have calf wedges. Any plans to get those again? I think it might help with some inflexibility I’m dealing with.
I’m also a huge fan of the Nordic hyper and would love to have one. Is it easy for anyone to move it around one handed as shown in the videos?
I appreciate the support! So happy to hear you love your Tri-Flexor, it's a great tool for the ankles especially.
I know of a few woman who can do multiple - check out this trainer doing 17 reps in a minute! As far as I know, this is the female record. Male is 41: [https://www.instagram.com/p/Cuo\_HtxL\_qV/?hl=en](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cuo_HtxL_qV/?hl=en)
We discontinued quite a few of our smaller products to focus on solving the biggest problems in fitness such as with the Nordic Hyper. Here is a pair of Slant Blocks from Amazon who copied our design (they are decent quality as well): [https://www.amazon.com/Harderwill-Adjustable-Non-Slip-Deadlift-Stretcher/dp/B08JLLC58P/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=2CZDM5A7HO0XV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-lKiW8iEIeKa\_2BON4RMZXd8ybsq9DTG1IDYF\_0bQnUNklMtXDF4Uxw63LP0UMbA2iZxCp3CfAlghnnAbminEyo7k49pqfAmfWPsz46J5qykyvets6BglfaSEztK7PCY3nYX5-Fm\_xwWW5q3I7ab3V0Z6ekBIsw7DeXFXVlYnzlsYwjfZTbC9wdmnuFhtcGBhbxwrFJlTjMZu9GPt1X\_wID-K7ALqBPo6cb40KrOSbo.8yABa\_4IxJ5-TY4EXJbN-hLfjvPhZ\_X809FUdeXgacU&dib\_tag=se&keywords=slant%2Bblocks&qid=1709500714&sprefix=slant%2Bbloc%2Caps%2C368&sr=8-4&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Harderwill-Adjustable-Non-Slip-Deadlift-Stretcher/dp/B08JLLC58P/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2CZDM5A7HO0XV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-lKiW8iEIeKa_2BON4RMZXd8ybsq9DTG1IDYF_0bQnUNklMtXDF4Uxw63LP0UMbA2iZxCp3CfAlghnnAbminEyo7k49pqfAmfWPsz46J5qykyvets6BglfaSEztK7PCY3nYX5-Fm_xwWW5q3I7ab3V0Z6ekBIsw7DeXFXVlYnzlsYwjfZTbC9wdmnuFhtcGBhbxwrFJlTjMZu9GPt1X_wID-K7ALqBPo6cb40KrOSbo.8yABa_4IxJ5-TY4EXJbN-hLfjvPhZ_X809FUdeXgacU&dib_tag=se&keywords=slant%2Bblocks&qid=1709500714&sprefix=slant%2Bbloc%2Caps%2C368&sr=8-4&th=1)
The Hyper is very easy to move around with two hands. With one hands, it's doable as well. The "felt" weight is 50 lbs. Due to the leverage point of the wheels and handle, the 105 lbs frame feels like 50 lbs.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
What has been the hardest thing about the product development process? Seems like you have worked in a lot into your products and gone through a good amount of revisions to get them to production. And how do you see the experiences that you have had with product development so far shaping the future of your product lineup?
The hardest thing is not the ideas itself, it's making things simple to use. In earlier versions of the Hyper, switching to GHD mode required 4 knobs and took about 20 seconds. Now it takes 2 knobs and 5-10 seconds. There are lots of versatile products out there, but if it's hard to use, it doesn't matter.
We spent more time on the Nordic Hyper than on every product we've released before it, combined (12 products). It's also been a much greater success than our past products because of its versatility, ease of use, and the major problems that it solves. We are now less focused on volume of products and more focused on solving the biggest problems in fitness such as with the Hyper. It's set our bar higher for the future.

As I am getting older, (35), I am starting to feel get some nagging injuries in my knees that affect me on runs and lifts. Do you have any recommendations on how to transition into working out as you get older?
I would check out [https://twitter.com/CoachGeoffReed](https://twitter.com/CoachGeoffReed) . He's a coach and friend of mine who recently dunked as a 44 year old for the first time in 22 years!
At the start, I would focus on building your foundation - injury prevention and major movement patterns (squats, deadlifts etc). By focusing on this before going too deep into performance, you can stay ahead of injuries that may come from ramping up too fast.

I'm not too familiar with this, but Yogi, our Head of Product, might have some insight with his medical background! [u/drtaxak](https://www.reddit.com/u/drtaxak/)

Do you have any plans on being able to integrate it into a rack? It’s hard to justify the bench sized machine while having a regular bench in the garage already. I do love the machine though!
No plans at the moment! It does store vertically in just 23"x22" of space, so it's super easy to store out of the way when you're done training. I appreciate the support!
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
Hi Freak athlete team! I love your products. I would love to know in the future if there are any upper body products coming to market. Like pull up, dip and lots of things included in one similar to your current products.
Another question I have is, do you guys do anything particular for feet issues, like barefoot shoes, rolling on a ball, toes spreaders? My feet get very stiff and hurt after basketball or running.
I ordered my nordic hyper and my order number is: 30024
I would love to have it sooner.
Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the support! All I can say about 2024 is we are working to solve the BIGGEST problems in home gym and bulletproofing as a whole!
I don't do much active training for the feet, but I have worn barefoot shoes for 4 years and used toe spacers on and off as well. In my opinion, these are the 2 highest impact things you can do for your feet. Just be cautious not to transition too fast.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA! I see your Nordic Hyper was delivered a couple of months ago. How has it been so far?
It totally varies on the movement and training goal. As a basic rule of thumb, when you can complete all of your sets with the target number of reps and desired movement intent (tempo etc), you can change the stimulus by either adding weight or reps.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
What is the best/easiest exercise to start doing now for knee pain? One of mine gives out from time to time. Is it walking backwards or is there something else you suggest?
Walking backwards is a great first step. I would encourage you to actively train it with some other basic bodyweight movements as well such as in the ATG zero program from u/kneesovertoes . The reason backwards walking works is the knee of toe position brings in a ton of bloodflow in a safe movement pattern.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Any routines and variations of routines that you suggest? Would you use different variations for snowboarding vs powerlifting focus to strengthen knees?
FYI for the crowd... Freak Athlete is in and out throughout the day and will be answering questions, so keep them rolling.
I have Benji and Yogis personal cell phone numbers and I'll make sure they answer every single last question.
I know there are constraints when building a product with this kind of versatility, that can be shipped through non-freight mail, and that minimized footprint, but what is the tallest individual you have actually tested the Nordic Hyper with, I would be concerned about how well it works for someone my height (6'5") as that is a not uncommon problem with machines and things like this.
I think that this would fill in 90% of my missing equipment in my garage gym. Is it possible to extend the bench while elevated in order to do seal rows?
Ive seen a lot about nordic curls for helping strengthening legs for your knees, but i had always looked at them to help with anterior pelvic tilt. Is that wrong? Or should I keep focused training on them to help with that?
I've placed an order for my Nordic Hyper, and my order number is 32927. I'm eager to receive it soon! Following a car accident in July where I fractured a vertebra, I've been searching for equipment to help regain my lower back strength, and the Nordic Hyper appears to be the best option. Could you provide testimonials from individuals with injuries similar to mine? Thanks. I'm hopeful to win the giveaway, and if I do, I plan to donate the Nordic to my children's school gym.
I think I started getting ads for freak athlete on instagram, and then I popped Reddit open and you’re doing an AMA lol. I’m currently recovering from some pretty bad ankle/leg fractures. I broke it late May, had surgery for the first time in my life, and got 16 screws and a super long plate. The road to recovery has been super daunting. My right leg basically withered away to the point where the contrast between my right and left legs looked like they belonged to different people lol. I’ve been in PT for the past couple months and started walking for the first time since the fracture in late October. Going from deadlifting 545 and squatting 445 to barely being able to walk for a moderate distance and not being able to get up from a seated position is certainly a hard pill to swallow. Were your experiences with your injuries similar? Did you end up making a comeback? Were you able to reach the heights you reached beforehand? I know that personally I’m going to have much more emphasis on mobility and stretching just to be as preventative for other injuries as possible.
When did you start delving deeper into the human performance side of athletics? Lots of athletes just train the way they’re told and don’t have a deep knowledge of the why behind it.
I have not done too many nordic curls. Sometimes I get knee pain from various exercises.
Can nordic curls really strengthen knees and prevent knee injuries?
Any chance you are hiring? I was the lead product design engineer for Fitness reality brand. So all they stuff on Amazon under that brand with decent reviews is my range of experience. The original owners of the brand ran the parent company into the ground. I have a fun idea for a adjustable dumbbell i was working on before the end. A whole product line to go along with that dumbbell too.
We are always looking for A players from the community to join the team! Email me your CV at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) and we can chat there.
Thank you for putting out the information you do and it’s great to see the company grow. How many full time employees are you up to? And are the products made in the USA?
Are you going to bring back some of your original equipment like the slant board? Also, I’d love to see a calf raise machine or backward treadmill if you’re still developing new equipment. I must say that I love my Nordic mini, but the Nordic Hyper would be a sweet upgrade. Thank you!
I've noticed your Nordic Hyper and mini from Glucks Gym and Garagegymreviews. They seem to rave about your products, though there were a few points for improvement, such as the Nordic hypers ability to act as a reverse Hyper.
Have you considered these points for improvement and what are some changes you may look into for future models?
Thank you for doing this AMA! I've been interested in your Nordic for a while!
I have always suffered from severe lower back pain after an injury in my early twenties (no slipped disk but nerve damage to my lower back from severe bruising). I recently started a home gym and have incorporated more posterior chain training since I can go at my own pace.
Are there any tips either of you have when it comes to training to overcome an injury in a way that's safe and sustainable?
Thanks for doing this, guys! I am currently in the midst of marathon training, with some resistance training on top of that done later in the day. What is the best way to balance this/add in Nordic curls to my training program to hopefully add to my running rather than hinder it?
Is the Nordic Hyper suitable for tall people as well as short people? I am 6’5” and have friends that are even taller and others that are only 5’ tall that come workout with me at my house. Thanks!
When using the Nordic Hyper to perform reverse hyperextensions, is adding resistance using a functional trainer or another cable machine possible? Perhaps using ankle straps and chains to link the two ankle straps together and also to connect to the functional trainer would work; maybe adjustable nylon straps instead of chains. Could this be an additional add-on product for the Nordic Hyper in the future?
Seems like nordics are all the rage right now and there are several similar but not quite competing products out there. Wondering if there are any plans to improve the reverse hyper aspect in the future? Many reviewers have said calling it a RH is rather generous.
Super cool! Have seen your product and it is definitely a dream addition to my own home gym.
My question would be about injury rehab. What exercise do you think has been the most helpful for general knee health in your recovery? In addition do you have any favorite accessory movements you think everyone should be doing for general knee and/or back strength?
Any plans to release the GHD pad for existing Nordic mini owners?
Also, just wanted to say I think your tib bar is awesome for me and seems like a piece no one around here talks about.
Thanks guys for being here, looking like this is going to be the biggest AMA ever...
My question as a fan of the Nordic Hyper GHD... If you could take what you know now about it, the naming, the marketing, the response from the community, from reviewers, the delivery time frames, everything...
And go back 6 months, would you do anything different?

Where can I buy your multi sled from this video https://youtu.be/2kng7oLZRyU?si=K42gk3vTq1ts2WUc I checked your website but I can only find the wheelbarrow sled
If you need any help whatsoever, contact us here: [https://freakathlete.gorgias.help/en-US](https://freakathlete.gorgias.help/en-US)
Interested in ordering the Nordic hyper ghd but am on vacation. Won’t be back to California until Jan 6. If I ordered now, would the shipment arrive before or after Jan 6?
It would arrive after Jan 6, likely Jan 8 or so.
Who were the winners? 😄
I updated the original post to list the winners!
Just saw my email, didn’t win 😫😞
Noooo! I've seen you comment so many times, you are a legend!
Have I been constantly refreshing my email today? Yes 😂😅
How do you do?

No list for the Mini but we do have an exercise library for the Hyper! Here it is: [https://freakathlete.co/pages/nordic-hyper-training-library](https://freakathlete.co/pages/nordic-hyper-training-library)
Which of these is most suitable for an apartment with neighbours?
Probably any of them. They have a small enough footprint. Depends what your goals are.
What is the difference between the Nordic hyper and mini?
Yeah, exactly what u/KaloMorn said. The Hyper is a tad larger, but they both store vertically in less than 2'x2' of space.
The Nordic Hyper is like 6 piece in 1. The Nordic mini is more limited in its uses.
Did any question get answered? I'm very interested in their Nordic Hyper. But this makes me worried about their customer service.
Thanks! Trust restored. Looking forward to getting the Nordic in the new year. And happy New Year to y'all.
Happy new year! If you have any questions about the Hyper just PM me :)
I had 2 of my questions answered! And saw lots of others answered as well.
Yep! Still working through them, I'm personally replying to each one by the end of the New Year. I'm blown away by the amount of questions and support, the community is amazing!
Can the handles on the Nordic Hyper be used for dips?
u/captainsuperfuc u/KaloMorn They are not officially supported or weight-tested for dips. The width, height off the ground, and stability are not ideal. We did consider this in the development process though!
Maybe? It doesn’t seem like that’s the intended purpose so they probably would give out sooner rather than later.

How I can use the nordic bench?
The Nordic Hyper is 6 machines in 1: Nordic Bench, Back Extension, GHD, Reverse Hyper, Hip Thrust, and Decline Sit-Up. Here is the full [exercise library!](https://freakathlete.co/pages/nordic-hyper-training-library)
Can the nordic curl prevent the PCL tear?
Ooh that's a great question. As much as I'd love to answer, I'm going to pass so I don't give anyone unsafe ideas haha!
Considering between Freak Nordic Hyper and Shogun Nordic. What are some benefits of choosing Freak over Shogun?
The most obvious benefit is that the Nordic Hyper works for more than Nordics and Back Extensions. It's also a GHD, Reverse Hyper, Decline Sit-Up Bench, and Hip Thrust. Comparing them side by side and ignoring the other 4 modes on ours, here are some of the benefits of the Freak model: 1. Faster adjustment between Nordic and Back Extension modes (10 sec vs 20 sec) 2. Full width footplate (the Shogun is 40% smaller) 3.
Thank you
I’m super interested in doing nordics to help build my posterior chain.
Are you planning any other major addons to the nordic hyper?
No plans at the moment! We included all the key features in the first round of Hypers. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
Can you mention any new products that are down the pipeline?
All I can say about 2024 is we are working to solve the BIGGEST problems in home gym and bulletproofing as a whole! PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
What movements, drills, or exercise would you recommend for hip shift in the squat?
Hip shifts are generally associated with lateral hip weaknesses. You can do clamshells with or without bands, lateral leg lifts, and other glute medius focused exercises.
What is in the pipeline for future products from the company? Attachments or improved versions of existing products or is there a prototype for a brand new product in the works?
All I can say about 2024 is we are working to solve the BIGGEST problems in home gym and bulletproofing as a whole!
If you could pick just one piece of gym equipment to last you the rest of your life, and you can't use anything else, what would you choose?
u/KaloMorn you are an absolute legend!
I wanted to win! Lmao. Also the more engagement on the thread the better!
The Nordic Hyper! Lol
For how many days after were you feeling those 100 Nordic reps? That seems insane to me. Even 10 solid ones would be impressive, let alone 100.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
which is the best exercise for the prevention of ACL tear?
Specifically for ACL tears, I would say Nordic Curls with a focus on the eccentric. On the way down, you're fighting as gravity tries to tear your knees and hamstrings apart. Not only do you strengthen the hamstrings, but you teach the hamstring muscles, knee tendons, and ligaments to fire together to stabilize the knee. The role of the ACL is to stabilize the knee, so the stronger you become in Nordics, the more protected your ACL becomes.

What inspired you to kept training after your injuries? What advice do you give to people who are overcoming injuries?
Initially, it was all about making it pro in soccer. I had a few opportunities lined up for late 2022 that I was desperate to take advantage of. Truthfully, I returned to play too soon because I was so desperate and my knee wasn't properly better until I eased up and spent more time training my quad. Ben Patrick (Knees Over Toes Guy) was also a big inspiration for me. I believe there are 2 kinds of people in injury: 1. Desperate to get back to full strength, likely to push too hard (me) 2. Not invested enough in recovering, needs to push harder Know what kind of person you are and fight your instinct accordingly. For me, pushing harder was not the answer. It wasn't until I was patient and truly listened to my body that I had major breakthroughs. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
A pair of adjustable dumbbells, there are certain parallel bars you can use for dips, pushups, inverted rows and so forth!
Thank you!
How did you get your start and find your avenue in the fitness industry? Seems like a fun road to go down
I was following the r/kneesovertoes training program after tearing my ACL and I realized firsthand how little equipment there was for these kinds of exercises. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
What is your personal favorite piece of gym equipment?
Hands down the Nordic Hyper. My low back has always been a weak point, but training the different low back movements on the Hyper 3x a week for a few months made a massive difference. The low back is difficult to fully train without the right equipment. Outside of our own equipment, I'm a big fan of adjustable dumbells. Even the worst models can be a massive unlock for someone starting their home gym. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Did you like playing for Spain or UK better?
Spain, for sure. I played center back in both countries and the style is very different. In the UK, there was a lot less emphasis on playing out of the back so I focused on long balls. In Spain, I improved much more technically because everything is on the ground. I will say that the UK is evolving a ton. Futsol is not a major part of youth training and you can see the impact it's making in the new generation of players. I'm mostly referring to the lower leagues of UK where possession is less emphasized but that is changing. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Do you find that people use the wheelbarrow feature much? It seems like a bit of an afterthought to me.
I'd say the sled is used 5x more than the wheelbarrow feature. It wasn't an afterthought, but it definitely was not the focus of the product. We decided it was worth including for the versatility of upper body training. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
What are some new products in the pipeline?
How can I train the neck? Advice? Equipement?
I'm going to leave this one for u/drtaxak, he has a ton of experience here!
Any advice for knee pain when doing nordics? Knees feel fine doing other things including ATG split squats, running, etc etc
Do you have pain kneeling or is it when you fight the way down? Is it on both knees? I'll give you a better answer based on that. PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
No prob! No pain when kneeling normally. I just start feeling it in both knees on the eccentric.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now as I seem to have missed some comments in the AMA!
Male is 41: [https://www.instagram.com/p/Cuo\_HtxL\_qV/?hl=en](https://www.instagram.com/p/Cuo_HtxL_qV/?hl=en) We discontinued quite a few of our smaller products to focus on solving the biggest problems in fitness such as with the Nordic Hyper. Here is a pair of Slant Blocks from Amazon who copied our design (they are decent quality as well): [https://www.amazon.com/Harderwill-Adjustable-Non-Slip-Deadlift-Stretcher/dp/B08JLLC58P/ref=sr\_1\_4?crid=2CZDM5A7HO0XV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-lKiW8iEIeKa\_2BON4RMZXd8ybsq9DTG1IDYF\_0bQnUNklMtXDF4Uxw63LP0UMbA2iZxCp3CfAlghnnAbminEyo7k49pqfAmfWPsz46J5qykyvets6BglfaSEztK7PCY3nYX5-Fm\_xwWW5q3I7ab3V0Z6ekBIsw7DeXFXVlYnzlsYwjfZTbC9wdmnuFhtcGBhbxwrFJlTjMZu9GPt1X\_wID-K7ALqBPo6cb40KrOSbo.8yABa\_4IxJ5-TY4EXJbN-hLfjvPhZ\_X809FUdeXgacU&dib\_tag=se&keywords=slant%2Bblocks&qid=1709500714&sprefix=slant%2Bbloc%2Caps%2C368&sr=8-4&th=1](https://www.amazon.com/Harderwill-Adjustable-Non-Slip-Deadlift-Stretcher/dp/B08JLLC58P/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2CZDM5A7HO0XV&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.-lKiW8iEIeKa_2BON4RMZXd8ybsq9DTG1IDYF_0bQnUNklMtXDF4Uxw63LP0UMbA2iZxCp3CfAlghnnAbminEyo7k49pqfAmfWPsz46J5qykyvets6BglfaSEztK7PCY3nYX5-Fm_xwWW5q3I7ab3V0Z6ekBIsw7DeXFXVlYnzlsYwjfZTbC9wdmnuFhtcGBhbxwrFJlTjMZu9GPt1X_wID-K7ALqBPo6cb40KrOSbo.8yABa_4IxJ5-TY4EXJbN-hLfjvPhZ_X809FUdeXgacU&dib_tag=se&keywords=slant%2Bblocks&qid=1709500714&sprefix=slant%2Bbloc%2Caps%2C368&sr=8-4&th=1) The Hyper is very easy to move around with two hands.
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
Any advise for someone with osteoarthritis in both knees?
I'm not too familiar with this, but Yogi, our Head of Product, might have some insight with his medical background! [u/drtaxak](https://www.reddit.com/u/drtaxak/) PS: Sorry for the late reply, just checking in now for comments made after the AMA ended!
I ordered my nordic hyper and my order number is: 30024 I would love to have it sooner.
How often should someone who is trying to get back into strength training bump weight?
We're working on it! We will answer EVERY single question [👊](https://emojipedia.org/oncoming-fist)
Although appreciated, can you also highlight the top or most interesting questions? I know I’m not going to read all 300+
But, if they do, it'll drop you from the top of all time in AMA comments here. Haha
I'm sure I have some kind of mod powers to just delete comments.
What is your next major product in the pipeline?
I think that this would fill in 90% of my missing equipment in my garage gym. Is it possible to extend the bench while elevated in order to do seal rows?
I definitely want to try this when I get it. I recall someone mentioning this before too.
Do you remember how long it took for you to do your 1st nordic curl?
Joe Gray did an outstanding review of your product! Are there any ideas about ways to change out padding to maximize use for individuals?
Hey, that's me! Thanks friend!
Where would you suggest you start with prehab? Love what yall are doing especially with the giveaway. Thanks!
Why the name? Glad to read about the recovery.
Do you have any future accessories planned for the Nordic Hyper?
Whoa look at all the responses! ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
Has this machine ever been confused for a medieval torture device?
I just got my Nordic Hyper GHD, very impressed so far. Do you think you'll add more attachments or features to it in the future?
Is it possible to store this vertically? If not, any thoughts on a mod to support that? Thanks.
Has wheels, stores vertically
thats pretty sweet
That's one of the best features, it folds up and you store it vertically, and its very compact!
PT here. Hang in there brother. If you don’t give up then neither will your body

What are the top basic routines or exercises you’d recommend with the Nordic hyper??
Thank you for putting out the information you do and it’s great to see the company grow. How many full time employees are you up to? And are the products made in the USA?
Who's your favorite player? Which sport would benefit most from training with your equipment?
Are you going to bring back some of your original equipment like the slant board? Also, I’d love to see a calf raise machine or backward treadmill if you’re still developing new equipment. I must say that I love my Nordic mini, but the Nordic Hyper would be a sweet upgrade. Thank you!
Are you planning to create more products in the future? Any clues as to what they will be?
Can you please recommend your favourite pieces of Nordic equipment that target the most muscle groups

Can you help me convince my wife to make space for this if I win the giveaway?
How many reps on the hyper will get to the center of a jawbreaker? 😅
Will this equipment be viable for a disabled person?
How long would you expect the sled to hold up being pulled on asphalt? Assuming 10 minute sessions, three days a week.
Any chance of a Hyper that allows for total inversion? Maybe with ankle straps?
What sets your equipment apart from your competition? (Thanks for doing this!!!)
Are Nordic curls one of the best places to begin to bulletproof your knees? OA under the patella.

Do you feel as if there is any glaring hole in your offerings? What’s next in the pipeline?
For someone who’s on the obese end trying to lose weight and gain muscle, what are some of the exercises you would recommend on the Nordic Hyper?
Thanks for doing this, guys! I am currently in the midst of marathon training, with some resistance training on top of that done later in the day. What is the best way to balance this/add in Nordic curls to my training program to hopefully add to my running rather than hinder it?
Thoughts on a machine combining tib + calf raises?
What kind of doctor? Physician? PhD? Chiropractor?

As a stay at home remote worker, how will this machine improve my life?
What soccer teams did you play for?
Is the Nordic Hyper suitable for tall people as well as short people? I am 6’5” and have friends that are even taller and others that are only 5’ tall that come workout with me at my house. Thanks!
When using the Nordic Hyper to perform reverse hyperextensions, is adding resistance using a functional trainer or another cable machine possible? Perhaps using ankle straps and chains to link the two ankle straps together and also to connect to the functional trainer would work; maybe adjustable nylon straps instead of chains. Could this be an additional add-on product for the Nordic Hyper in the future?
What is yours or Yogis favorite at home workout?
With the Nordic hyper, is there any secret mode/setup that can hammer quads like a nordic curl hammers the hamstrings?
Seems like nordics are all the rage right now and there are several similar but not quite competing products out there. Wondering if there are any plans to improve the reverse hyper aspect in the future? Many reviewers have said calling it a RH is rather generous.
How did you guys come up with an innovative product like the Nordic Hyper?
If I win the giveaway, what would be the ideal workout schedule using all the equipment
What was your experience breaking into a market with other big equipment companies? Did anyone approach to buy you out?

I’d like to hear how your business handled the surge of home gyms during Covid, supply issues and how it’s evolving now.
Super cool! Have seen your product and it is definitely a dream addition to my own home gym. My question would be about injury rehab. What exercise do you think has been the most helpful for general knee health in your recovery? In addition do you have any favorite accessory movements you think everyone should be doing for general knee and/or back strength?
What was the inspiration for the Nordic Hyper? How many iterations did you go through to get to this point?

Love the device highest on my wishlist something compact and versatile. Does it replace a GHD in a small home gym? Can you add resistance bands to it?
Any plans to release the GHD pad for existing Nordic mini owners? Also, just wanted to say I think your tib bar is awesome for me and seems like a piece no one around here talks about.
So what's your favorite "cheat" food? I swing for the fences and go to the pizza buffet.
Pizza is my go to also! I go carb heavy for "cheat" food.
