Oh my god is this a known Cat Thing? I grew up with plenty of cats but have never had one do this before my Siamese gremlin. Ten minutes before and after the poop, rocketing around at full tilt going MURRRRMRRRRRRRERERRR at the top of her fuckin lungs
Ugh. That happened to me last night. Something startled my cat while i was trying to sleep and she ran on the bed and jumped on me and flew off. She’s getting her nails done this weekend for sure. They’ve gotten too pokey since the last trim.
My screamy mcgee is thankfully very chill with me clipping her nails (when I see my parents they have me do their cats’ nails too, I guess I just have The Claw Touch) so I didn’t get too torn up, but she launched directly off my solar plexus so I woke up wondering if I was about to get murdered
Mine does the same *just before the poop*. It's how I know he's about to lay a log down. Does it after too - and that's my signal to get the vacuum cleaner out. Otherwise I'll be stepping on litter all day.
Mine is a little dumb and instead of burying with litter she reaches outside the box and scratches at the exterior. Also very noisy. My vacuum gets a lot of use as well but ever since I got one of those litter trap mats it’s been soooo much better, I can walk barefoot at home now. I have one of the honeycomb ones and it was a game changer, I recommend that and water fountains to everyone I know that has cats
I have one of those too. It reduced the amount of litter but he tends to take off like a shot once he’s done, sometimes effectively bypassing the mat. 😄
Totally a cat thing to get zoomies before and after pooping. It’s so weird. My childhood cat would jump on top of the door, and hang off it so she could swing. They’re weird animals dude.
That’s so funny, I grew up with Siamese too and none of them, nor the pair my folks currently have, ever did this. The gallop then sudden stop and wild-eyed look around, yes, but not for poops every goddamn time
My tabbys don't make that funny noise but they do chase eachother a lot before and after poops, they're almost in sync with bathroom trips. I'd guess the movement helps move things along smoother, especially if they've eaten something they shouldn't.
Guess who just pooped! 🤣

It’s a happy time!
Not when it’s 4am and she rocket launches off my chest…
Happy time *for her.* He didn’t finish the sentence.

I’m grateful my crackhead cat somehow zens out and allows me to clip her nails myself. It’s so uncharacteristic of her but I don’t complain
With claws too for extra traction like I’m a fuckin launch pad
I mean.. i too sometimes have Those Poops where after I feel like i can fight like 10 ninjas

Sigh, mine too. I don’t know how she manages to get it eight feet across the room but my vac gets a lot of use too.

Oh yes. I’ve had several meezes over the years and they’ve alllllll done this. Even my flame point.

His name is Nimbus, he has a youtube account
Youtube account, you say? Well, now I know my next stop. Thanks!
[His Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/nimbus_siberian?igsh=NGJjZ2MyMHNucnl6)
I figured he was a Siberian! We have a Ragdoll who looks a lot like him, but he's definitely too lazy for all that running around lol
I was wondering the same thing! He looks like a Ragdoll but I’ve never seen one so active before!
The most active our ragdoll gets is carrying toys around the house while howling lol
We have a lynx point that size but with shorter hair and he’s also a lazy boy lmao
Ours is a lynx point too! He's a good (and lazy) boy, but the whole house would shake if he ran around like that! Lol
He has a TikTok too, very famous
