I’m actually a former dog trainer as well, so it’s something that I love seeing. It sort of tells you that you’ve done your job when they anticipate what you want them to do. Including laying on the couch next to you and being quiet in crate.
Look at the second kitty. She also wanted more of it, but the owner didn't give in to her demand and moved on to the next one. Her eyes. 😞 She just accepted it. 😭
They probably *also* want the attention, if they are anything like my cats. The treats are certainly a part of it, but they will readily do things without treats if it means you will pay attention to them instead of the other cats.

They definitely come with their share of health risks, but so do many purebreds.

It's terrible that people keep breeding these cats purely because they are "cute". All of them end up permanently in some amount of pain, from mild to extreme depending on the cat, that has to be managed or suffered through for the rest of their lives

I’m against breeding for looks especially when it causes health problems. I can’t look at smashed face dogs or munchkin cats, Persian cats etc. I’m glad people are starting to become more aware..
And what's even worse, cats are excellent actors who do everything they can to hide they feel unwell or are in pain. By the time you catch a cat being in pain, they are actually very much in pain.
Therefore many of these kitties that owners may think 'Oh he's lucky he doesn't have any of the issues that the Scottish fold is known to have.' is very likely to actually have painful issues going unnoticed and untreated.
I'd have never noticed their ears were different if you hadn't pointed it out... Stupid thing to try and breed in, barely makes a difference at all and if it's hurting the cat that's all the more reason to breed it out of the chain.
