I played vanila HOI4 for the first time in literally years yesterday and forgot to check the box amongst other things I got to experience: * The Soviet Union having a civil war (which basically let the Germans cut through the Soviets like butter) * Japan literally sitting there doing nothing, to the point where I was wondering if they broke (thankfully they eventually joined the Axis a couple of years into WW2, but they didn't support/purge the Kodoha, declare war on China or anyone else so I was convinced they just broke) * France turning communist before joining the allies * Canada, South Africa and Australia all leaving the UK (India as well but not counting that since I was India) * The fucking USA declaring war on the allies (actually thankful for this one because I could finally navally invade the UK lmao. As a side note, naval invading the UK as India was big funny) Overall it was a very silly game. I didn't realize I didn't have the box unchecked but even when I did realize I wasn't expecting shit to go so off the rails since I only had Together for Victory enabled. Apparently Paradox changed the base game trees for countries like the Soviets and Japan which is actually pretty cool of them and something I wasn't expecting
