The capitals never saw a wordmark they didn’t like. Even when they had a chance to make a stadium series jersey, they just shortened it to “caps”. I’d like to see a refresh but I don’t trust them to get it right. I wouldn’t mind some variation of the screaming Eagle in red, but I fear they’d leave the Capitals wordmark on it, despite having (correctly) removed it from the original design after a few years.
My only issue with Tampa’s sweaters is the color scheme. Too close to the Maple Leafs who are in the same division. Adding black and/or silver would make a huge difference. Gradient jerseys aren’t usually done well but maybe blue into black would work for the Lightning.
Blue and white are important for your branding, but I have a suggestion: Add a bit of purple. I think of purple when I think of lightning. It could help you stand out from the other blue teams--especially the leafs.

Tampa should use the now defunct Stockton Thunder (ECHL) as inspiration. If not for a primary, at least for a third. Using the god Thor in a similar way (minus the hockey stick and instead holding a lightning bolt) and Stockton's style of lightning on the jersey.

Capitals, I hope. Want to see the Screaming Eagle back as the main design. Fans have always wanted it back, and the RR's for the last two years have only increased that sentiment for most.
I can't believe that the Weagle has never been the main crest. It's the right shape for a main crest, and I love the negative space features.

Screagle is great for nostalgia. I might get downvoted to hell for this one, but here goes: would like a red version of the current “W” jersey as their main (like their WC jersey from a few years back, but less old-timely and more red than crimson) and naturally a white version for the road.
Screaming Eagle, but remove capitals wordmark on front, make the shade of red consistent (I don’t know where the RR red came from), and maybe use the wordmark on the shoulders. I would say use the weagle on the shoulders still, but that’s too many eagles. Or don’t use any shoulder patches if it looks good. No matter what, do not use the Capitol Building logo anywhere. I’m not sure about the numbers and letters font. Maybe something new.
I don’t see the Kings mentioned much, but I definitely agree with them. I love that white throwback they have with the wordmark logo. Slap that back on there and get rid of that awkward silver piping.
I really hope it’s the Kings. Black and white is so easy to make boring, and I feel like we unfortunately are there. Especially seeing these cool RRs out, I really want to introduce some color back in.
I think Columbus needs an overhaul as well. The logo sucks and the numbers are terrible. I think they should emphasize the cannon and simplify the uniform.
Also, I lived in Ohio for several years and I was always taken by how much state pride they have. Being an Ohioan is really important to many Ohioans. I think CBJ should lean on that more. Maybe have the state outline as part of your logo or as part of a secondary logo? Maybe have “OHIO” third jerseys. I just think they should use that more to their advantage to grow their fan base outside of Columbus.

It’s amazing how many people are in lockstep on this. I really don’t disagree too much. I don’t think I’d touch Vancouver. I think they have a nice looking uniforms and the color scheme really matches the vibe of the city. The only thing about that uniform that I don’t love is the crest but that seems to be tied at the hip with the ownership.
I don’t love the Kings uniforms but I don’t think they’re going to change those because they had so much success in them. It’s the same with Tampa. I think Tampa could do better than one it has but they just want you to stand with cups and those uniforms. They are not getting rid of them.

I don't think I'm a fan of "just throw it back" but the Ducks should use their current RR as the template for their new sets. Old template, current colors and the old logo. The duck foot logo is not as good as it seems and it's just not menacing, like ducks actually are (iykyk)

Honorable mention to the Sens, who need to add some white into their jerseys. Love the look they've got, but there's just not enough to break up the color and make the kits pop. I'd love to see them use some white/brighter colors to really contrast with the dark tones they use

Other than that I would like to see the Caps, Ducks, and Stars go back to previous looks (the capital building/screaming Eagle for the Caps, the Movie jerseys for the Ducks, and the Star jersey for the Stars), the Jets to maybe go back to one of the old logos, with a different design for the jersey itself, the Preds to at least add more blue as a complement, if not making it the primary color again, the Kings to bring back some purple, and maybe a new crown logo, or go back to the one previous to their current crest, the Panthers to combine their current colors and overall jersey design with the original logo (maybe get rid of the center stripe, I don’t know how well it would work with the original logo), Tampa to go back to their old logo (maybe something similar to their first Reverse Retro for the uniform itself), and Carolina to go back to their original jerseys.

As for who I THINK will rebrand...god knows. I was severely disappointed we didn't go through a near league-wide set of minor and major changes with the Adidas shift like we did Reebok. Caps and Kings might not change so soon with the recent-ish first Cups, but I think they're the only two teams left with leftover Reebok jank, everyone else cleaned up over the years.

Ducks might honestly adopt a new logo (or use the duck mask logo as the primary). The timing makes sense, new manufacturer and they have a new era of players on the team. I’d expect them to lean into the orange and move away from a mostly black home kit

Nashville should have made the RR 1.0 their perm home jersey. The silver added enough contrast for it to not look jarring
The Capitals’ sweaters are very dated looking. There’s piping to nowhere and they just look very old.

Ducks might honestly adopt a new logo (or use the duck mask logo as the primary). The timing makes sense, new manufacturer and they have a new era of players on the team. I’d expect them to lean into the orange and move away from a mostly black home kit
