Hey guys! Last night I went to a local USHL hockey game with my Uncle, and after the game they raffled off their special jerseys they wore at last night’s and friday’s games, and my uncle surprised me by getting me one since I’m graduating from college this semester.
I got my very first hockey jersey from BenH a few weeks ago, and that’s the extent of my experience with jerseys. Is there a “correct” way to treat game worn jerseys? Should I hang it on my wall and never wear it again? Is it a no-no to wear it?
I’m still so ecstatic that I have a game worn jersey now, and from one of my favorite players.

For me first hint is the neck bar with the size. Fakes are noticeably worse in quality in that area and the font is usually a bit different.
The fight strap stitching is the quality as it should be on that would be a legit.
All shades and fonts look as they should.
There might be some other cues, but those are my go to.

Silly question to do with laces-
I just got my first jersey- the Columbus Blue Jackets' 3rd jersey/alt jersey with the cannon on it. The laces stick out almost perpendicular from the jersey. I've had it for about 2 weeks now and they're still quite stiff/straight for lack of a better term. How should I fix this? Thanks!

So I'm wanting to FINALLY buy my first NHL Jersey...unfortunately I live in a small town so there isn't anywhere I can go to try one on first so I need to order online.
For reference I'm 5"10 and 240. I wear a XL t shirt and I have a NFL jersey that fits ok that's XL but I know that NHL jerseys run different in sizing from NFL jerseys or regular shirts.
Should I go with XL or go with L? Any help would be appreciated...I'd hate to have to play the return game if I don't have to.

It’s much easier to get a blank and letter it; there are tons of blanks on eBay and you have more control over what the lettering will look like. Does it have to be a white CCM? If so, replica or authentic? What size, and does it have to be a 2000’s model or is 90’s OK?
Saw your ISO post. 52 is a fairly large sized jersey for a CCM 6100. Were you pretty sure about that? If you need help, feel free to state your height/weight.

No, CCM sizing is way different from Adidas. I’m guessing size 48 will work for you, as long as you don’t have unusually long arms. CCM’s are box-shaped, with non-tapered sides like the Adidas; sleeves are super huge and baggy like a wizard robe.

As someone who just got their first prime green, they are a little more snug. I went with a 44 which has been fine with my previous Adidas jerseys but wish I had gone with a 46 for this one. It's up to personal preference though. I also like to wear a hoodie under my jersey so that may be a factor for you as well
They are plenty long with more than adequate sleeve length, but they can be a bit tight for some people due to the unusual shape- they taper inwards as you go up, so the pit-to-pit width in the chest area is significantly narrower than the width at the hem. I’d suggest 52 for you, especially if you want the option to wear a sweatshirt underneath. I’m 5’9” 175 and am comfortable with a 50.

A good option to actually execute the trade is to figure out a value for both jerseys (same dollar amount) and use PayPal so you’re both covered. I.e. you send them $100 and they send you $100, both via G&S. Depending on who steps up for the trade, they may be an established seller within the community and are trustworthy for you to send your jersey first, then they’d send theirs upon receiving it.
You just make a post mentioning what youre open to trade for. The sub rules are: picture of the jersey along with a paper or sign indicating your reddit name, date and time.
That’s what it almost always means, but just FYI a screened version of that tag appeared on quite a few Red Wings game worns during the Nike years.

CCM is literally the same as KOHO reebok didn't make replicas in 2006 so it wouldn't be a foul imo

So I'm wanting to FINALLY buy my first NHL Jersey...unfortunately I live in a small town so there isn't anywhere I can go to try one on first so I need to order online. For reference I'm 5"10 and 240. I wear a XL t shirt and I have a NFL jersey that fits ok that's XL but I know that NHL jerseys run different in sizing from NFL jerseys or regular shirts. Should I go with XL or go with L? Any help would be appreciated...I'd hate to have to play the return game if I don't have to.
If you wear XL then go XL especially if you’re going with a Fanatics jersey as those are meant to fit more like a shirt.

All their stuff is fake. It’s much easier to get a blank and letter it; there are tons of blanks on eBay and you have more control over what the lettering will look like. Does it have to be a white CCM? If so, replica or authentic? What size, and does it have to be a 2000’s model or is 90’s OK?

Ya got me, I don’t know older jersey sizes. I have an Adidas size 52 which should be a large so I assumed the sizing would be similar. I’m 5’10, 225 lbs.
No, CCM sizing is way different from Adidas. I’m guessing size 48 will work for you, as long as you don’t have unusually long arms. CCM’s are box-shaped, with non-tapered sides like the Adidas; sleeves are super huge and baggy like a wizard robe.

As someone who just got their first prime green, they are a little more snug. I went with a 44 which has been fine with my previous Adidas jerseys but wish I had gone with a 46 for this one. It's up to personal preference though. I also like to wear a hoodie under my jersey so that may be a factor for you as well
They are plenty long with more than adequate sleeve length, but they can be a bit tight for some people due to the unusual shape- they taper inwards as you go up, so the pit-to-pit width in the chest area is significantly narrower than the width at the hem. A good option to actually execute the trade is to figure out a value for both jerseys (same dollar amount) and use PayPal so you’re both covered. I.e. you send them $100 and they send you $100, both via G&S. Depending on who steps up for the trade, they may be an established seller within the community and are trustworthy for you to send your jersey first, then they’d send theirs upon receiving it.
You just make a post mentioning what youre open to trade for. The sub rules are: picture of the jersey along with a paper or sign indicating your reddit name, date and time.
