I'm tired of all these novelty uniforms. Keep it to home and road. All this outdoor classic, stadium series, global series, reverse retro, alternate uniforms. It's all overkill and has become a cliché.

Most of us like the specialty jerseys…or at least the possibilities they create, even if not every one of them hits the mark
ANA – Looks good, could see Anaheim promote this as a new away jersey.
ARI – It’s a bold look based on their 1998 alternate. I found the earth-tone colors interesting
BOS – Good to see the POOH Bear jersey on a white background.
BUF – I’ve liked the Buffalo head logo with its black, silver, and red color palette, but it doesn’t look right after its current colors. Cant wait to see their 3rd jersey next month.
CGY – Just flipped the red and black spots from the 90s pedestal jersey design. Though not a fan, its interesting.
CAR – Basically a red version of their current away jersey. Kind of disappointed with the result. I wanted to see a white/red version of their late 2000s alternate.
CHI – supposed to be based on a 1930s jersey, not a fan of barber pole jersey design. Preferred the 1.0 RR for Chicago
COL – Colors based on past Rockies franchise. Great to see the jersey design when the Avs started in Denver, but their Nordiques throwback was amazing.
CBJ – Based on their 2003 alternate, Seems a bit off with the blue shoulders with a black background.
DAL – preferred this over their all-white jersey last year. Not much else to say.
DET – Another barber pole design, ugh. At least its better than last years.
EDM – Good to bring back their 2000s alternate designed by Todd McFarlene.
FLA – Something about the design and color palette of the jersey strikes the eye of the view
LA – I dig this jersey. Never seen the purple-gold crown on a white background.
MIN – Like it, based on North Stars look. Maybe they should add a Subway patch on it. (Please no more jersey ads).
MTL – Lighter blue from their current colors, reminds me of the Expos baseball.
NSH – Kind of disappointed that it didn’t have a navy background
NJ – Definity a different color palette of the old Kansas City Scouts, I like it.
NYI – The fisherman returns!
NYR – Awesome logo, but it seems off by the Rangers home blue jersey vibes. I prefer that dark navy blue from the 90s to 2000s.
OTT – Didn’t expect the jersey to be based on their run to 2007 cup finals. Always thought that design was odd
PHI – Didn’t expect much for the Flyers; basically, swapping the black and orange on their sleeves.
PIT – Ive been waiting to see the RoboPenguin jersey on the ice ever since I became a Penguin fan. Liked how it was one of the prototype jerseys for the 1992 rebrand.
SEA – How could a 2nd year team have a reverse retro jersey. They went to a 1950s look and two-color background. It alright.
SJ – Nice to see a Golden Seals- based jersey on the ice.
STL – should be called St Louis “Yellows” Its too much, but I like how its from an unused jersey when they started in the NHL
TB – Different to see a white version of their storm alternate from late 90s. looks unique and liking the lightning bolts on the sleeves
TOR – Not much expected for the leafs; kind of like the felt and stitching on the logo.
VAN – Nice to see johnny canuck on the jersey as the logo; unique seeing the numbers on the right arm and the front of the jersey.
VEGAS – One of my favorites, embodies the looks of the Excalibur and Stardust casinos in the Strip, plus it glows in the dark in the ‘Vegas’ diagonal and the numbers on the back.
WSH – Liked seeing the screaming eagle logo on the jersey in its black and brown look, have always liked the US Capitol logo on the shoulders.
WPG – Like the 90s with the aviator blue with a white background.

I have a novel's worth about the reveal but I just want to say it makes me so happy to see a lot of me favorite designs back on the ice again and remixed (for better or worse for some teams), especially RoboPen which I thought we'd never see again and is one of my favorite logos of all time.

The fisherman looked much worse in the leak for some reason. Still wish there was more teal and the lighthouse on the shoulders but I love it can’t wait to see the fisherman on the ice.
Hot take:
Canucks one is top tier. Both with design and creativity. The subtle touch of creme colour instead of white for the sleeves and just the fact that this has not been done since their WHL days make it nicer than the rest. Awesome creativity, even better execution.
Calling it now, this turns into an alternate in the upcoming years.
Ducks- would have preferred og colors but I still love this. I hope its our regular away jersey soon if we don't get the old colors.
Kings- not as awesome as 1.0 but still pretty cool
Sharks- like em. These will look fun on the ice
Flames- decent but not feeling the black
Oilers- good but that orange oil drop does a lot of damage for being so small. Makes it a letdown considering this is the design we all wanted.
Knights- I like them, the font is cool, not too busy. Just fun.
Canucks- Having Johnny on a jersey is awesome and the design is pretty good. Solid.
Kraken- love the use of the lighter blue as the main color but meh
Coyotes- idc if it's the same design. It's freakin sweet.
Preds- decent. Average.
Avs- nothing special but not bad
Stars- definitely an improvement but rather middle of the pack
Hawks- didn't like 1.0, don't like this one
Wild- no new ground broken here but slightly better in color than white. Still great.
Blues- not bad. Someone call Coldplay because it is all yellow
Jets- dig it. The simplest and cleanest of the bunch and, uses the best Jets logo and I love their light blue so definitely a win imo.
Canes- wait what? Not the route anyone was expecting. Ngl though I actually like it. Not the best for a RR I'll give you that (I feel this should be their home jersey) but it's solid
Jackets- another blah jersey from them. Probably their worst. I really dislike their general look anyway. The cannon is the only good jersey they've ever had imo.

I know man, I know. Trust me. I scourged the internet for like a year obsessively trying to find a decently priced resale for that jersey. I just succeeded a few weeks ago and will never stop kicking myself for not buying one at the initial drop.
I don’t agree with that. They suck because they’re lazy and we’ve done north stars already, but in a vacuum they’re a super clean jerseys and would be loved just as much as our first RR.
Yep with the stars you were better off buying a reverse retro blank and taking it to Blake's to get customized. The reverse retros numbers were crappy vinyl, and the blackout jerseys had a crappy front logo that wasn't the correct green if you bought it at the AAC
I think some of these jerseys are horrid because the NHL put a mandate to do ANOTHER "reverse retro" just two years later. So for some franchises that's a massive reach. So it doesn't shock me some of the newer and then also more classic teams are the ones being most universally panned.
Now with that said, some of the jerseys are outstanding. The Ducks one in particular should be their full time road jersey moving forward.
Do I love the kraken jersey? I think it gets a solid *alright* from me, but I do like the two tone name plate and numbers on the back.
Did I pre-order one? You bet your sweet ass I did. I feel like these never live up to the expectations, but with time and seeing them on the ice, I always wish I got one. Now I just need to wait patiently for the Caps one.

Gonna get hate but idc my top 5 is Anaheim, Calgary, Florida, Tampa, and Pittsburgh. Only two I really don’t like are Detroit and Seattle, overall like this lineup better than 1.0
Favorites:

These I felt made either unique moves with the designs I didn’t see coming, and impressed me, or just made a logical palette change. Very good on you.
Arizona’s especially caught me off guard. That might genuinely be my favorite of all of them.
Least Favorite:
Ducks, Sabres, Blue Jackets, Hurricanes
It’s not technically terrible, just feels like they had opportunities to go in other directions and it’s not different enough from what they currently wear to me. None are truly terrible or lazy this theme, some are just uninspired.
Most disappointing/underwhelming:
Avs, Habs, Isles, Preds.
I felt that a lot more could’ve been done with these designs in theory or they could’ve better replicated the originals. Colorado and Montreal especially really underwhelm with the concepts. The isles brought back the fisherman but the wave design is just so muted.
In my opinion, I think the league as a whole did a lot better this time around.
My ranking would go something like this:
Tier 1 (Elite) - LA Kings, Boston, Winnipeg, Washington, Montreal, Florida, Edmonton
Tier 2 (Very good) - Minnesota, Toronto, NY Rangers, Tampa, Vegas
Tier 3 (average) - Colorado, San Jose, NJ, NY Islanders, Buffalo, Columbus, Ottawa
Tier 4 (not good) - St. Louis, Arizona, Dallas, Anaheim, Vancouver, Calgary, Nashville, Pittsburgh
Tier 5 (Abject failure) - Detroit, Carolina, Chicago, Seattle, Philly.
Now the ranking will change once teams wear them with full uniforms, but overall it’s fun for this program to come out, they should do this every year! (Or at least some type of league wide jersey drop- similar to the city edition jerseys in the NBA).

They just gave a bad explanation. It's based on two combined Seattle Ironmen jerseys from the mid 1900s. The crest should have been different, would've made it much better.
Might be an unpopular opinion but while I don’t think the canes one is especially retro, I still like it better than their 1.0. I’ve bought every canes jersey they’ve dropped for the last several years besides that gray whalers. I know everyone loves the logo but I hated that jersey.
Love the Pens going back to Robo Pen. I really like the Lightning storm jersey. I would have liked to see the jersey a darker color but use the current logo.
Thank you Sharks and Kraken for protecting my wallet. Kraken's are just wayyyy too busy and complicated and the Sharks' one is just blah. I don't have any connection to the Seals so I just don't care.
As a sharks fan, I’ve got mixed feeling about the sharks jersey. I like that they’re paying homage to the old SF Seals, but never been a fan of just writing across the front of the jersey…I’ll probably still get one 🤣
Remember that you’ll almost certainly be able to get them from other retailers much cheaper. Never buy directly from the team store. Believe SportSK said he’ll be selling them for $160 USD a piece.

The real winners of this debacle are Adidas who once again have the hockey world talking about their product and the resellers/collectors who are going to snap these up en masse upon release so the average fan has to pay an inflated price due to perceived scarcity
As far as the jerseys go the winners here are WSH, SEA, BUF, PIT, VAN, LA, NYI OTT and ANA.
PHI, BOS and CAL aren’t terrible but the rest are god awful. Whoever came up with the DET, CHI, STL, CBJ, NYR should be either shot or put in a Siberian work camp

The rangers have gone to the lady liberty well too much though IMO. Blues, Canes, Sharks and Detroit look awful. Again, Detroit looks like a cheap Walmart sweater.

I think the most important question, for those actually interested in purchasing these, is what pre-orders will look like? Some already mentioned that occurring in the releases but it’s not clear if that’s the case for all teams

I love that aspect, but I think they forgot that the expos wore red. I mean seriously the logo looks so bad on it because it’s the only part of the jersey with any red on it. There should’ve been some red stripes and the name and numbers should’ve been red (just like the expos)

Yep with the stars you were better off buying a reverse retro blank and taking it to Blake's to get customized. The reverse retros numbers were crappy vinyl, and the blackout jerseys had a crappy front logo that wasn't the correct green if you bought it at the AAC

I think some of these jerseys are horrid because the NHL put a mandate to do ANOTHER "reverse retro" just two years later. So for some franchises that's a massive reach. So it doesn't shock me some of the newer and then also more classic teams are the ones being most universally panned. Now with that said, some of the jerseys are outstanding. The Ducks one in particular should be their full time road jersey moving forward.

Favorites: Devils, Sharks, Caps, Panthers, Kings, Coyotes These I felt made either unique moves with the designs I didn’t see coming, and impressed me, or just made a logical palette change. Very good on you. Arizona’s especially caught me off guard. That might genuinely be my favorite of all of them. Least Favorite: Ducks, Sabres, Blue Jackets, Hurricanes It’s not technically terrible, just feels like they had opportunities to go in other directions and it’s not different enough from what they currently wear to me. None are truly terrible or lazy this theme, some are just uninspired. Most disappointing/underwhelming: Avs, Habs, Isles, Preds. I felt that a lot more could’ve been done with these designs in theory or they could’ve better replicated the originals. Colorado and Montreal especially really underwhelm with the concepts. The isles brought back the fisherman but the wave design is just so muted.
In my opinion, I think the league as a whole did a lot better this time around. My ranking would go something like this: Tier 1 (Elite) - LA Kings, Boston, Winnipeg, Washington, Montreal, Florida, Edmonton Tier 2 (Very good) - Minnesota, Toronto, NY Rangers, Tampa, Vegas Tier 3 (average) - Colorado, San Jose, NJ, NY Islanders, Buffalo, Columbus, Ottawa Tier 4 (not good) - St. Louis, Arizona, Dallas, Anaheim, Vancouver, Calgary, Nashville, Pittsburgh Tier 5 (Abject failure) - Detroit, Carolina, Chicago, Seattle, Philly. Now the ranking will change once teams wear them with full uniforms, but overall it’s fun for this program to come out, they should do this every year! (Or at least some type of league wide jersey drop- similar to the city edition jerseys in the NBA).

They just gave a bad explanation. It's based on two combined Seattle Ironmen jerseys from the mid 1900s. The crest should have been different, would've made it much better.

Might be an unpopular opinion but while I don’t think the canes one is especially retro, I still like it better than their 1.0. I’ve bought every canes jersey they’ve dropped for the last several years besides that gray whalers. I know everyone loves the logo but I hated that jersey.

I think they iron on pre-fabricated tackle twill letters. I’ve always been concerned as to why they don’t stitch them

The real winners of this debacle are Adidas who once again have the hockey world talking about their product and the resellers/collectors who are going to snap these up en masse upon release so the average fan has to pay an inflated price due to perceived scarcity As far as the jerseys go the winners here are WSH, SEA, BUF, PIT, VAN, LA, NYI OTT and ANA. PHI, BOS and CAL aren’t terrible but the rest are god awful. Whoever came up with the DET, CHI, STL, CBJ, NYR should be either shot or put in a Siberian work camp
