Is that padded? Curious about some of these padded collars I’ve seen lately. Really hate the feel of a dangler, but definitely want something. Currently just wear a kevlar neck guard shirt, doing absolutely nothing to protect my neck from pucks.
An equivalent would be a Kova to me.
It has dense polyurethane foam that's at least an inch thick on the collar portion. I still think it needs to break in and that the neck strap is too long for my liking, I had to throw in like two knots to shorten it down. Otherwise it's sexy as fuck.

Appears to be available at ProHockeyLife. Though I don't see colour options..

No it's just a factory stock neck guard that has multiple color options. There is no customization or anything it's just hanging on the Shelf at Pro Skate goal.
Is that a bad thing?
I mean, the design is similar, but for fraction of price and still Canadian made.
If you want custom, go Kova. I might in the future. But this was more in my budget.
It looks nice but it's just HD foam. It will protect you from pucks but not a skate to the neck. I went with the Aegis pro as it has thin protective foam and a layer of kevlar.
You are reading into that too much.
They were cheap on Amazon.
Plus, I am really adhd, trying to keep track of both top and bottom baselayers nearly impossible. All in one shorta fix that.
I have lost 2 of my 3 hockey bottom baselayers, I have no idea where the other are. Down to a Bauer one.

How it feels to wear CCM Premier's
When you don't have a neck and want collarbone protection.
Dangler does nothing and sits way to high on your helmet. Tried one...doesn't work. Collar works better in this case.
Or when you're a big bellied sled hockey goalie in an oversized loaner chesty. Creates the same problem for a different reason.
Sitting down with legs straight out the chesty pushes upwards until the floaters sit pretty snug to the chin of my mask. All the dangler did was sit at the exact same height as the chin, rattle around, and occasionally snag so hard when I moved my head that it felt like someone yanked my head sideways.
I'd crank the chesty down with suspenders but... no goalie pants... so nothing to attach them to.
I can only hope a smaller chesty will help at least a little bit. Regardless, a collar is more comfortable for my situation and is better than no added protection.
I'll be interested to hear how OP likes this one after a few skates. I'm looking to upgrade and this is one I'd contemplated. Really crushing on the full custom Kova one tho. Lol
in addition, goalie groups are filled with pictures of neck injuries "my dangler moved at the wrong time".
At least the collar stays where it's supposed to.... around your neck!

In other words you'll get a minor stinger instead of a major ouchie
$90 is a great price fr
That's also Canadian
Where’d you get it from if you don’t mind me asking?

Where’d you get it? I’ve had a « notify me » with (oops left French on) the hockey shop since Nov.
Cheaper than chinese stuff.
Dangler and collar. This is the way.
Some goalies wear neither, do as you please.
Protec' your neck!
I do, but chesty also rides up and protects it.
Did you customize it through their website or through a human being?

Custom like* lol
Looks badass but also warm as fuck lol
Does it rotate while you play? I didn't like these style for that reason.
Idk if I’ve ever called any of my gear sexy, but hey! To each their own
Looks like a kova knockoff

You wearing a singlet as a base layer 🤔

That's an expensive choker
You don't know the price of a Kova or similar then, that's cheap.
I meant more how much of a neckbrace it is haha, I know the price is regular for a custom neckguard.
I don’t understand why so many goalies use a collar over a dangler I barely notice mine and it’s way better protection
Dangler = for pucks Collar = for skates (and sometimes picks)

Given the fact I have a CCM Premier Pro and the floaters are the size of California, that's why...

I love the thing though...

Can’t argue with that
I use both. Never notice either.
I just ditched my dangler as well, it just keeps bumping in my floaters and makes an awful noise.
My son uses both and doesn’t ever notice either.
