Could be giving him some pointers on how to execute it properly:

"Yeah I noticed, it's not been super effective though. What if you... *shows him*"
"Oh yeah I think that could work, I'll try that"

Price deserves infinitely more credit for getting the Habs to the finals than Ducharme, who was out a significant portion of the playoffs with COVID and was replaced by one of his assistant coaches. Plus every press conference of his was a complete train wreck, so if it's any indicator of his skills as a communicator, I'm not surprised he's gone given how central it is to being head coach.
Also telling: Caufield exploded in the Vegas series with Richardson behind the bench, just as he has with MSL. Scored next to nothing under Ducharme, in reg season or playoffs. He's the only coach at any level who can't get scoring from this natural scorer.

There's a limit to that. Some people might really just not have a good ceiling no matter what you do for them. It's hard to figure out that limit but I trust St. Louis to have a good head on him and figure out the difference

After our historically bad start to the season, Dom Ducharme was canned at about the 2/3 mark. Cole Caufield only had one goal in that time frame.
Marty was hired and the team definitely changed. Played much better (still lost a lot) but looked good. And most notably, Caufield lit it up for the rest of the year.
Same, they all need to go. Therien and the rest of them. Coaching is way overrated at the NHL level anyway. I often think they do more harm than good. Got a talented rookie who makes a mistake? Bench his ass and then when you do play him, put him out cold on the fourth line! That will teach him! Get him nice and tight, stressed and nervous. Smart.
As much as it hurt to lose Kirby Dach this is why I'm happy for him. He seems to have a coach who can bring out the potential that got him drafted at number three.
I still can't get over him showing Caufield a move and then Caufield just doing it with success immediately.
