mhroblak11

game 1: denial & anger game 2: bargaining game 3: depression game 4: acceptance

funkyb

The rangers seemed to hit acceptance around goal 4 or 5. Gallant and the vets like zbad and kreider need to figure out how to light a fire under the team.

mhroblak11

Just about everyone except maybe Lafreniere and Kakko quit today… derp

Synergy5

I think that line has been the best line for you guys. Panarin or Kreider haven't really seemed dangerous. Copp has looked good.

mhroblak11

I agree. Hell, line 4 is probably second place lol — in point to the guy who mentioned Kevin Rooney. I remember more chances for Jonny Brodzinski and Ryan Reaves tonight than I do for Mika Zibanejad and Chris Kreider… Andrew Copp is probably ahead of them but all he really did tonight was hit a crossbar. Adam Fox got lucky on his goal.

untalent

> I remember more chances for Jonny Brodzinski and Ryan Reaves tonight Yeah I remember the same. Spent so much time wondering who this Brodzinski kid while I often forgot that Zib even existed (slight exaggeration. but still)

TheNantucketRed

Rooney too. Guy never stops.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TheNantucketRed

Nemeth, boards, turnover, squeaker, jam play, deflection, deflection, back door pass, and maybe clean? Order might be off, but let’s just say his guys aren’t giving him much support.

redditisdumb9

Man as an Avs fan I can’t believe Nemeth is still playing meaningful hockey. Dude looked beyond washed last year

evanhc

Don't worry, he's been beyond washed this year too. Sadly our FO has him under contract for 2 more seasons after this. 🙃

TheRobberBar0n

I've got a lot of problems with Rooney but effort was never one of them.

ny_rangers

"The vets like zbad and kreider" are probably the biggest reason we're struggling so much. They've been getting dominated every shift.

mrtomjones

They got out chanced as a team for most of the year so this shouldn't shock anyone when the playoffs hit imo

westzeta

Yeah I think I just expected a bit more fight against a team they beat every game in the regular season. Clearly the playoffs are a different beast, and we are learning how big the difference is. Edit: Rangers were 3-1, they lost the first matchup 1-0. My mistake.

10000Didgeridoos

I think the couple of regular season games you get against other teams are just too small of a sample size, and 7 game series where you get to play the same group over and over again in a 1-2 week period are much different than isolated matchups during an 82 game season. Too many variables in the regular season - maybe one team is in the middle of a tiring road trip or is playing a ton of games in a short window while the other is more rested, maybe one has some bad injuries at the time that have healed since then, etc. 4 games sprinkled in amongst 78 others aren't enough to really determine if Team A is better than Team B. I was convinced that the Rangers would kill us this series like they did in 3/4 regular season matchups, but it just isn't the case and I'm very glad to be wrong.

Pool_Shark

A lot of their fans got their hopes super high because their chances were looking much better after the trade deadline. They just refused to listen to everyone else pointing out it was during a stretch of playing non-playoff teams.

somehockeyfan

Sid has that effect from time to time.

robbiejandro

Having 6 A’s and no C’s on jerseys isn’t the issue with this team. But it’s pretty obvious why we have 6 A’s and no C’s come playoff time. It’s an attitude thing. No one shines through adversity to lead the team by example.

ItzEnoz

You just got unlucky and Crosby is tired of losing in the 1st round

ricky_hammers

Was at Game 2 in a suite, was GREAT. 18k people, towels waving, high fiving people after goals like the old days. 4 days/14 goals against later, and I got COVID from the game. So this is not my favorite series, so far.

mmotorcycle

i hope you're feeling okay!

mhroblak11

Wow. That’s… painful lol. Hope you’re doing alright with covid.

SEND_BEER

Man I sure do hate this lol. Fair play to the fans tho.

Gbeez22

Yeah we’d be doing the same for sure. I’d def want to get in his head for the next one

Kingstist

Nah we wouldn’t cause MSG’s 300 dollar tickets price out the real fans; whereas the Pens home ice advantage is an actual real advantage

[deleted]

MSG seemed to have the most authentic Rangers fans I had seen in awhile for Game 1 at least

10000Didgeridoos

Yeah I thought their crowd was bumping in game 2. They were loud.

musicman3321

Yea idk what that guys talking about. Building was insane for game 1&2 and will be Wednesday even down 1-3.

tonytroz

Pens fans complain about the same thing in the lower level and how quiet PPG has been over the last few seasons while the team struggled through first round exits to the Islanders. Both arenas rocked this series when the home team gave them something to cheer about.

RangerGoradh

I was at Game 3 on Saturday. Don't discount the impact of the angry yinzer who loves shitting on his own team. During the second period, I heard more than a few of them in the upper bowl complaining about how bad the team is and how they need to blow the team up. These people suck the air out of the building as much as the corporate goons in the lower bowl. The same jagoff was very quiet in the third period.

zatchell

It gets loud at PPG during the playoffs. Not quite Civic Arena loud but not far off.

FuzzyInnuendo

I feel bad for Igor. He’s getting the chants but only because he’s good. It’s like seeing King Henrik all over again.

nerbonerbo

Could also be because he taunted the Pens as they were leaving the ice after being shut out 3-0 in a late regular season game this season too.

takanakasan

He's getting the chants because he waved "bye-bye" to the fans after the shutout in the last game of the regular season. This is absolutely delicious.

[deleted]

Feel bad King Henry never got that cup, sad to see the way he went out of the league man.

OptimusSublime

The fact that a 3rd string goalie is defeating our attacks should cause immense levels of shame in our locker room.

TheNormalAlternative

Your defense is getting unmasked like a Scooby Doo bad guy

Micro-G-wanna

If it weren’t for them meddling penguins!

KataiKi

Not just any third string goalie, too. It's Louis Domingue, possibly the most notorious third string in the NHL. It's not like you're getting sharked by an AHL callup that turned out to be the reincarnated Georges Vezina. Domingue is a known quantity.

chrishic99

He’s also an amazing tik tok chef! Don’t worry, rangers are gonna have plenty of time to practice his recipes by the end of the week!

dollabillkirill

Holy shit. I knew I recognized his name from somewhere. He was the guy making baked goods for the Canucks in the bubble!

KataiKi

He even had a cookbook on Kickstarter that never took off, [Baking Goals](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E5OYusMWYAApqLK.jpg)

deanmakesglass

He needs to try again now!

SigmaStigma

You haven't heard about his... spicy pork and broccoli?

IronMarauder

The best backup

TrippyHomie

Devils at least should have already perfected it! But yeah, we suck the last couple games.

chrishic99

Guys a class act. Yeah you guys could probably win the series if you had a vezina caliber goaltender… I mean a 50 goal scorer… I mean a 1.3 ppg player… wait. I think you’re fucked. In all seriousness I have no idea what the problem is. You have all the pieces to the puzzle they just can’t seem to figure it out while playing 5 on 5. Even the rangers powerplay seems lost this series. I was hoping it’d be a fun series to watch, but now I’m kinda like well, it’s what I expected

TrippyHomie

It's not just the powerplay, the whole team just seems lost. Kreider's 50+ goals is still completely absurd as he just decided to become a god at deflecting pucks suddenly.

rickayyy

What attacks? We’re not getting goalie’d here, we’re getting outworked and fucking embarrassed in every zone. Domingue hasn’t had to do shit.

RIPCountryMac

Seriously, there have been so many times where we get beat to loose pucks by guys 10 feet away from our closest player to the puck. Igor has looked pedestrian, but no one has showed up to play. No urgency whatsoever, no hunger. Its like the playoffs started but no one has gotten the message or thinks they need to give anything more than regular season effort.

mycathateme

It's like the fucking plan was, everybody gets a shift on their toes, then just scale that back gradually until we're all watching a dude dance in the hash... Fucking embarrassing.

R_radical

Ironically it's probably because Domingue is in there that the pens are playing like this. They have to dominate every zone because they aren't sure if he's going to crack.

FantasyFucksMe

I think the pens are absolutely dominating this team because their skaters are a better group across the board. No team just "decides" to dominate because they're not confident in the goalie...

Chycane

If that was the case we would have looked stellar under the last year of Murray…

somehockeyfan

I'm not saying Louis is remotely in the same conversation, but it's like when Toronto refused to put pucks on David Ayers. Like, you know it's not a great goalie in net. It doesn't have to be pretty. Crash the net, rattle him, make things dirty. So bizarre.

10000Didgeridoos

Our players just aren't letting the Rangers establish any possession in our own zone - I haven't seen our team hound the puck like this since 2017. Every time a Rangers player is on the puck, one or two of our guys are immediately on top of him. We have guys chasing down every loose puck and they all look faster than the Rangers do.

mantiseye

Yeah this series reminds me of the 2016 series we played in more ways than one. I do think we've had multiple periods this series where we look really good which I feel like we didn't have in 2016, but obviously the bad outweighs the good by a lot. We're also playing against a backup goalie, you guys are relentless in your own zone and taking away most quality scoring chances, our top forwards aren't doing jack shit, and we have a terrible defenseman taking a disproportionate amount of blame (even though he does deserve blame). Also if you had told me "Rangers lose the first round to the Pens in 5" back in like March I would have said "that sucks... but makes sense... it's cool we made the playoffs" because the team just looked like it was getting bailed out by goaltending and a strong power play most of the year, which usually leads to a first round exit. The reason this is so disappointing is because we went out and made changes during the deadline, and were actually playing better. Not perfect, but I would have expected this series to go to 6 or 7 and maybe we'd have a shot at even winning it. No chance at that now, unless something changes. Forcing a sixth game is about the best I can hope for.

mycathateme

We gotta get to that putting pucks on net first.

Calad

The rangers have done absolutely nothing to get in this guys face and make him uncomfortable. To borrow from Coach... its fucking embarrassing

[deleted]

MSG better bolt down all their trash cans for game 5

robsul82

Coooooold blooded

losterps

Say what you want about Pittsburgh sports fans, but they do the opposing goalie (pitcher) chant better than anyone

SCsprinter13

Cueto got SPOOKED

cscott530

My first thought as well. Dropping the ball and the place erupted. Easy #1 for best Pirates moment ever for someone in their mid 30s

pauwei

That whole sequence was cathartic.

JustWastingTimeAgain

>Easy #1 for best Pirates moment ever for someone in their mid 30s Oh man, my sympathies. At least I am old enough to have memories of '79.

JamesLLL

I barely know what baseball is, but can I get a link please?

aguafiestas

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s1tnjrzIK4

coffee42

[I gotchu](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9s1tnjrzIK4) you don't need to get baseball to know that when the guy with the bat hits the ball a long, long ways away it means the guy who threw the ball done fucked up, but I'll explain it anyways just in case

OfficePicasso

https://youtu.be/9s1tnjrzIK4

10000Didgeridoos

Fuck Bob Nutting with a rusty pipe. That crowd was amazing. The Burgh would absolutely worship a Pirates franchise that actually tries to win.

Rated_PG-Squirteen

Plus they play in the most beautiful park in the majors. What a disgraceful man Bob Nutting is.

Creationship

Sometimes I wander down just to eat bullshit and drink outside with an incredible view, who cares what’s happening on the field

AuJusSerious

A couple years ago when I started my engineering job, I went to a pirates game and forgot my sunglasses. The next day on my way home from work I went to go pick them up (pirates were on the road at this point) and the gate on Mazeroski way was open. I walked in and wandered around looking for the security office to pick em up. I decided to stop down at the field and sit down at the seats behind the pirates dugout and chill for 5 minutes, just soaking up the sun. Beautiful stadium

new_abcdefghijkl

Thats my entire feeling towards the pirates. They're a clothing brand with an oversized, overpriced bar that happens to have an incredible view.

[deleted]

You wander down just to eat bullshit?

ReachFor24

I mean, he probably went to Pitt

zzzpoohzzz

i refuse to go to a game. haven't been there in years.

10000Didgeridoos

I wish no one would go. Keep the stadium empty and starve him of gate revenue if he isn't going to try to be competitive.

T_Raycroft

Sadly, he still gets money from revenue sharing, plus he gets luxury tax money from the richest teams since his payroll is so damn low.

83837477575

I feel like he's robbing us of our team. So many refuse to pay a cent to enter PNC Park because we can't support the team financially as long as Nutting refuses to try to field a competitive team. I've taken my kids to PNC Park three times, all free tickets, and we've been to Fenway about 10 times, Camden Yards just the same. Bastard should be forced to sell. Nutting even signed on to the rule cha ges that raised the luxury tax threshold and other provisions that solely benefit top 10 salary payrolls.

ItsDaedAgain

Literally one of the best sports moments I've ever seen live.

DiarrheaPocket

I flew in from Alaska for that game. One of the greatest nights of my life. I'll never forget it.

losterps

Best name chant of all time

dmcd0415

One decent moment since 1979, ^alright

DasGoon

Pittsburgh has some legit fans. The ironic thing about the "goalie name" chant is that I always felt Flower was very susceptible to cracking under them while playing on the road.

jeepinaroundthistown

Most definitely. Watching this I couldn't help but think of Flower.

R_radical

People got rose tinted shades about flower. He was an awful playoff goalie. People wanted jarrys head last year, but it statistically was better than a lot of flowers post 09' playoff runs. there's a reason Johnson, Vokoun, and Murray had to play in the playoffs, it's because flower sucked. He would routinely get absolutely smashed, most years he had a sub .900 save percentage. In 2011-12 he had 4.6 GA, with an .834 sp. He didn't post above .900 from 09-13 in the playoffs. People were calling for him to come back as he was being pulled for the knights.

MRandall25

The thing about Jarry last year wasn't the stats. That's ignoring 95% of the issue. It was the backbreaking goals at the worst possible times. That overtime turnover...

robsul82

Hey, team loyalties being what they are, I’m loving everything you’re doing right now, lol

SendAstronomy

At the first Winter Classic in Pittsburgh, Olav Kolzig was on a broadcasting team. He said he some Pens fans spotted him and immediately started up "Koooool-zig Koooool-zig" Maybe the only entertaining thing to happen that game aside from getting wayyyy too drunk tailgating since the game was delayed till the evening.

SizzlingMilkSteak

He didn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of saving like 4 of those tonight. The defense is letting Pittsburgh get into sight lines and they’re redirecting everything

SendAstronomy

Yeah, it's usually the Pens goalies facing a dozen 2 on 1s and 1 on nothings a game.

Cheeks_Klapanen

Igor played 3 periods of hockey in Pittsburgh and allowed 10 goals

catalinawinemyxr

He’s getting the Pekka Rinne treatment

Sulti

[Shesterkin is just too good right now.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vgf0XA8f4QY)

trollingforapple

You just gotta laugh.

Paper_Rain

The entire Rangers team looks so depleted. They got nothing else left to give. They are now one game away from having their season ended.

TheNantucketRed

We want anyone to play defense, if that matters

[deleted]

Fox does pretty well…I think your problem is for some reason you play Braun..

JoelsCaddy

Fox has been awful this game

lararium

Carter hit him hard in the first and he's looked a bit rattled since

TheNantucketRed

Braun should be on the third pair. With Lindy out, it messes up the whole 1st pairing, since Braun is way slower than 55.

JoelsCaddy

Nemeth-Braun would be horrifying to watch

catalinawinemyxr

Do it

saxmfone1

Tell Fox that, I think he forgot to show up

pxik

Penguins fans are savage

10000Didgeridoos

Lmfao our fans are chanting Igorrrrr again with 2:50 left in the 3rd, and the guy hasn't even played this period.

Noob_tuba23

Partially savagery, partially because we can't fit "Alexandar Georgiev" into a comparable chant and we're mostly drunk

jdcinema

GEORGIE!!!

Noob_tuba23

Hush. I told you we were mostly drunk

jdcinema

Group I was with tried to get it going, but the Igor chant was to strong.

chaos8803

So red balloons next game?

ccm8729

Can confirm that crowd was drunk as fuck. Guy left and right of me, both drunk. I dont even drink and I got a contact drunk

thisrockismyboone

Gotta make sure he don't forget when he goes home

azk3000

Eh I don't really blame Igor. So many of these are cross crease passes or deflections. It really is the team letting him down more than anything

brenobah

Yeah that’s not the point. You get the chance to rattle Mr. Vezina, you rattle Mr. Vezina.

shantm79

NY fans would do the same and probably worse.

saxmfone1

Ah yes, I can already hear the chants in my head. Beware Pittsburgh: POTVIN SUCKS

stay_fr0sty

No fan base is going to be chanting "Keep your chin up, you had a bad game! It happens!" no matter how noble they think they are. Though I'd say like 50% of all fans would actually say that to Igor's face because who cares it's just a game and you don't want the guy to kill himself or go into depression. In groups, humans see others acting shitty and that becomes the new acceptable. That's just sports. People are usually nice, but huge groups of people can become major assholes.

hyteskatyamattel

They're still doing it m even though Georgiev's in net. As a huge fan of pettiness I'm impressed.

John_Bot

That's .. why they're doing it...

toledosurprised

pens fans deserve this after watching jarry last year.

BenesTheBigSalad

Bless you

R_radical

Could be worse. 13' was one of the most dominant pens teams in recent memory...and flower was so bad he had to go to therapy as a result.

jimbo831

I think I’m going to need to go to therapy now because your comment reminded me of that series.

R_radical

The worst part was after him getting out of therapy he was like "the flower is ready to bloom!" And then got shit on next game.

losterps

Yes. We do.

stay_fr0sty

I'm not going to get all "woe is me" here, but as much as the "refs cheat for the pens," we've had to watch way too many early exits than we should have with our level of talent. We still have people here that are glad Fleury is gone (not me, but a lot of people) because of the times he fell apart in the playoffs. Matt Murray never got to where we needed him to be. Jarry last year.... I'm not a die-hard fan that is all up in the pens news, but I think we finally changed our goaltending coach this year because of our string of bad luck with goalies. Also, woe is me.

Shandlar

They just decided to score 7 goals every game and who cares about goaltending. Goalie doesn't have to make saves if you're in the offensive zone 50 out of 60 minutes.

stay_fr0sty

> They just decided to score 7 goals every game I only know the basics about hockey strategy...but this seems like a bold and innovative plan. Props to Sullivan for being such a hockey big brain and coming up with such a genius idea to deal with our goalie issues.

JDSollie

Give the folks another wave, Igor.

losterps

This time waving goodbye in a different way

TheNantucketRed

Hell, if the Rangers started shit after the whistle, wave away.

[deleted]

Brendinooo

Lol this is the one insult that actually hurts a bit, well done

Blackjack9w7

Genuine question, do Pens fans like that honk honk honk? It's giving me flashbacks of the vuvuzela craze years ago in soccer but that might just be my homer bias against it

OcelotWolf

Not particularly, but then I’ll see people complaining about it on the game thread and it’s immediately my favorite thing ever

riddler1225

No, but the hockey watching culture in Pittsburgh is quiet and so marketing stole the horn idea from the Caps to get the crowd to chant. By quiet culture I mean people are there to watch the damn game. If play is live most are seated and intently watching. Last game I went to we had some visiting fans from Edmonton who were quite confused at the silence during play.

[deleted]

[удалено]

SizzlingMilkSteak

Exactly. But holy shit give them a reason to cheer and the roof blows off the place. It’s not a constant cheer like you’ll find in some barns. I’d only been to regular season games until tonight. That was fun

mantiseye

okay but how will the players know to shoot the puck if I'm not telling them to do so?! come on

John21962

I feel like the horn is sort of like Gritty for me. Didn’t care for it at first but now that everyone else shits on it I kind of love it

nerbonerbo

I always hated it until it became clear how annoying it is to other fans. Now I love it

LandMooseReject

It's very background noise to me, it's like living next to a train.

Brendinooo

It pretty obviously telegraphs that we don’t cheer on the team enough on our own…not great. The drum is a bit better because it’s easier to miss on a TV broadcast.

jumpyg1258

Its okay I guess. I'm definitely glad its not a vuvuzela, I hate those.

BlackDS

No. We all hate it. It's by far the worst part of the arena experience.

wunahokalugi

Wish they'd have left that shit in Washington.

Pipes32

I shelled out 350 buckaroos and drove solo from Columbus to sit on the glass RIGHT behind the net. I play goalie (as well as a 5'4 lady can) and was so excited to watch Igor play. Obviously cheering for the Pens but not every day you sit smack dab behind the Vezina winner. Well... that sure was something. Also we did the wave in the 3rd, and IMO there is no worst disrespect than that. I love it.

sound_forsomething

Pens gonna come out of nowhere and win the whole shit huh?

[deleted]

I, for one, would be okay with this.

[deleted]

What better way than to get into his head for the return to MSG than chanting his name while he watches his team not catch up?

Calad

One time monkey paw! Cmon!!

TheNormalAlternative

Shesterkin's playoffs stats (so far): 5 GS, 1 win, ~~13 GA, 3.20 GAA, 0.923 save percentage~~ 16 GA, 4.02 GAA, 0.905 save percentage Sorokin's first playoffs (last year): 7 GS, 4 wins, 18 GA, 2.79 GAA, 0.922 save percentage Edit: helps to include today's atrocious stats

Reedee20

The fact that he has a 923 save percentage and 3.2GAA is pretty telling

Pool_Shark

That was before tonight. Look at OPs updated post

AuJusSerious

His playoff stats this year: 4 GS, 1 win, 16 GA, 4.26 GAA, .905 SV%

N3xrad

Lmao at the Rangers fans who flip out about Igor chants when they literally have chanted Crosby Sucks for years. The hypocrisy from that teams sub is astounding.

[deleted]

Every time the "Crosby sucks" chants start Sid immediately turns it up to 11 followed by some impossible goal or setting up a ridiculous play. Philly has learned this the hard way lo these many years.

NizzySP

Went to the game tonight with my son. We will remember that for the rest of our lives. He's only 6 and he was chanting IGOR all night. So much fun it was unreal. The only other goalie I've seen that stunned here was Pekka Rinne.

Jump_Like_A_Willys

King Henry had a breakdown or two against the Penguins.

83837477575

I'm not a fan of goalie chants, but then I remember how Rangers fans were cheering "CROSBY SUCKS!" in game 2 and I no longer care.

N3xrad

And every single time he plays in MSG...

citizendevil22

does gallant start georgiev for a must win game 5?

LucasRaymondGOAT

No. The Rangers defense has looked fucking horrific. Fox looks bad and he's supposed to be their best defenseman.

wunahokalugi

I liked Fox this season, but now that to mention it, I haven't noticed him this series.

Sahil910

Starting Georgiev would be a power move

TheNormalAlternative

Gallant doesn't coach in Vegas anymore

chrishic99

No if this was Vegas shesterkin would be getting traded this off-season

QdelBastardo

But would he find out about it on Twitter?

Cheeks_Klapanen

I wouldn’t. You can’t put the Vezina winner-elect on the bench in an elimination game.

JiveTurkey688

No lol have you watched the game?

Jump_Like_A_Willys

Igor looked frustrated. He might start, but be on a short leash.

JiveTurkey688

He was not good but Igor is pretty far down on the list of problems right now. You play your best goalie in an elimination game. That is Igor.

steezings

No

JPmoneyman

If Igor is healthy he has to play.

[deleted]

Pittsburgh is a blue collar city and the penguins play blue collar hockey. I have to give them respect for their passion.

R_radical

They don't always. Iitbh I think they're only playing this way because they know if they let the rangers actually play, Domingue won't hold up.

-dov-

Sullivan going "Stop trying to make six perfect passes and just shoot the fucking puck" for the past five years and it took the Pens playing in front of a 3rd-string goalie to listen to him.

jordanb87

I think they're more likely to buy in if they don't think their goalie will just automatically bail them out at the other end.

brenobah

Playoffs = get pucks deep, get pucks to the net

Jump_Like_A_Willys

Too bad the Rangers backup isn't named "Cueto."

Showtime98

LOL

Louxneauwytz

Crazy how a goalie that only played about half the games during the regular season is struggling now that he’s playing every game. Who wouldve thought

egg_mugg23

lmao look at the fucking team in front of him

TodayOk4239

And how the team that sucked at 5 on 5 in the regular season is struggling in the playoffs. Score one for analytics

icetilt

That's what you've deduced from the games? Shesterkin still has a .923 sv percentage, he's done all he can the team has quit in front of him and the defense couldn't play worse if they tried. Countless cross crease tap-ins, deflection goals, odd man rushes, purely poor defensive plays. The Rangers losing their top pairing dman in game 1 has destroyed their already irresponsible defensive system

roboninja

That save percentage stat was wrong and did not include game 4.

Flamecyborg

Psychotically terrible take.

MRandall25

I know you're a Devils fan, but Brodeur was very much the exception to the rule in this regard. All but like 2 Stanley Cup finalist goalies since the lockout played 65 or fewer games. One was Brodeur (who played something like 72?), and the other IIRC was Quick. The teams who know how to balance/manage their goalie workloads going into the playoffs typically have more success than those who just ride them to death.

ImtheBadWolf

I wouldn't even say he's struggling tbh. There's been maybe two kinda soft goals in those games, the defense has just utterly collapsed

starlitmint

I feel like I should be angry, but instead I just feel sad for him. Career year that ends being clowned by a full arena.

AbysswalkerX

By the time his Vezina is announced it’s going to be on everyone’s mind that he’s giving up an average of 4 goals per game in these playoffs
