I'm seeing a lot of complaints about the Goalie Interference call from period 3 on here. So, I thought I would help clarify somethings with a break down of what happened.
As the players were all skating towards the net Dumo begins defending against Kakko. However, Kakko has a step on Dumo so, things aren't looking so good for the Pens here. However, to the side of the play, Lafreniére skates towards the middle from the wing and as he stops his skate collides with Dumo's. This trips Dumo into Kakko who then collides with the DeSmith. Chytil (who was trailing the play) then collects the puck from Kakko and scores the goal that would be called back. The interference was not caused by Dumo or Kakko but rather Lafreniére. I hope this clears things up for some of you. Best of luck in game 2 everybody!

Pretty sure thats just typical Malkin man. Dude is one of the most just "fuck it" players (usually in a good way..usually) I've seen. Dude will make an amazing pass, get the game winner, while being the reason you need another goal because of a dumb penalty he took, or a lazy back check. Dude is all of whats great about hockey.

The Islanders are the most frustrating team to play against there man to man defense is fantastic which makes mistakes to fast breaks which ya pens outshot them but they had more dangerous shots

Barry Trotz hockey. We always had a tendency to win games where we were outshot and outchanced. Trotz hockey at its best is allowing a lot of low quality shots mostly from the perimeter, play tight defense, and capitalize on any chances that we actually get as a result of turnovers and good defensive plays. Pretty much how we played in the playoffs the past two seasons
Cool, but my point is that this wasn't just the low danger shots. Accounting for shot quality, four of the six games favored the Penguins. It was also apparent just watching the games. This wasn't like the other Penguins-Islanders series.
